Hold the brake and the gas, it makes boost, even from a roll, there is a science to getting it right though. It fugging WORKS when done correctly.

1)different cars have different gear ratios, so you may gain an unfair advantage if your car has a great 40mph ratio, but the other car might have excellent powerband ratio at 35... the true method to race is from ZERO>>>> example i have an rx8 that can smoke tires and slip sideways when it hits second, but my evo eats its lunch all day long... Unless your a real racer like -->me then don't argue...

I happened to have been riding in the 335I, he left BRAKE BOOSTING AND WOT as soon as he took off. The EVO was brake boosted and left on like 25 psi and was gone.

Apparently you think you do because you ran some RANDOM modified EVO and automatically think thats the basis for comparison with the entire world. Turbo cars in different areas, different tunes, drivers etc. "Same mods pretty much" when talking about the 335I means nothing, when talking about cars that usually have mail order tunes like this one does, you could have ran a car that was slower or faster, who knows. Who's to say you didnt run one with a junk tune, with two 300 pound people in it?

Sounds like you ran up on a low boost or slow evo with that setup. Just because you ran a 335I with similar mods doesnt mean you would be even with this one. Not all cars run the same.

Ummm, yea it's stock turbo. There are stock turbo Evo's making 400-450, 450 is the record I think. This one has made 401 now, I THINK. All I know is it runs quite a bit faster and a sheet load more MPH at the track than the 335I. The 335I only made like 301 with the programmer, before the cai, now with the cai and downpipes it makes 315 rwhp and weighs more than the Evo. Not a hard race for the Evo to win.

i don't like ricers but I definately don't underestimate them. They're fast alright, but most come with forced induction almost maxing out they're tiny engines from the factory. most ford v8's will at least handle 500 hp, and chevy's will handle more. Those little 2.4l's probably can't handle more than 400 hp without serious work or an engine/tranny swap. To the honda civic beating cobra comment: The civic is probably turboed, now imagine a turboed v8 that comes with 3x the power of a honda...

that sounds dangerously high for a stock motor but i don't know anything about the evo (obviously) and maybe the performance parts on it can handle a lot. I was mainly talking about the economy cars people try to race such as integras/civics/galants. They're engines are made for mileage but a lot of kids want to try and get 500 horses out of a civic... That's impressive that an evo puts out 590 on a stock block though. My 2v V8's internals aren't trust worthy past 500 (piston's/rods/block).

sure your right they can make a ton of power turboed, but many of them have no experience in the feild of FI. And because they cant all rev to the sky (like the small engines can) they cant FULLY excercise their raw displacement.

ls7's rev pretty damn high though.

I think turbo is the way to go with any engine.

V8's + tt is great with tons of power potential.

most v8's are like two bored and stroked inline 4's next to each other.

well put. I won't lie, I look at cars not only for their speed but, uh, pussy potential. Evos and whatnot can prbably attract some nice young stupid girl pussy. But a lot of women who are in to fast cars like a loud muscle car (they don't care how fast it is). So If I get a nice mustang convertible or corvette or something, I can expect to still win some races and get a lot of female attention from a wider age range (usually from 18-35ish). I guess I'm not all that into racing as i am in women.
