You know, I only recently discovered Jump the Q and have been downloading every segment I can find since. Bob Costas is hilarious in these! I've always considered listening to his amazing voice call baseball games a treat. Now I know he can sing too, and a capella at that!
He is an American Treasure. Cherish and enjoy him, folks. While you still can.
Johan Santana baby! Wooooooooooooooo!! The Amazins have landed there ace Pitcher! This is just as big as the Mike Piazza trade! What a great day for the Mets and there fans!!!! Hey Sillie fans! Enjoy fighting off the Braves, Nats and Marlins! LMFAO!!!
"We can talk about the New York Mets. They brought in that great pitcher, Johan Santana, but they forgot that it takes more than one player to bring home a championship."
the orioles come on when was the last time they were in the playoffs, oh wait didn't they loose to the Yankees the last time they were in the playoffs oh yeah that's right they did !!!!
Coming straight from a Mets fan, Lo duca does not deserve to be there. And the guy from the Brewers is having a better year than Reyes. Not complaining, just saying, Mets are forcing this meaningless all star thing.
Jeez - is there really any sense in posting offensive comments here? Grow up. -- This video's kind of funny, though Costas got the first line wrong. It should be "Meet the mets, meet the mets, come on in and greet the mets." Otherwise, his recollection of the song was pretty impressive. The other guy looked really uncomfortable the whole time, though.
I actually kind of like that song. Perhaps if my Orioles had a cool song like that they wouldn't be so terrible. Oh well, I guess that's why I become a full-fledged NFL addict every April. I'd like to hear Costas do a Don Criqui impersonation next.
Too bad the Mutts haven't won anything in 20+ years, so we'll see how your pitching holds up at the end of the year with Glavine, El Duke, and Pedro the senior crowd. You also have to remember, no matter how the good the pitching is, they're still the lowly Mutts and second fiddle to the Yankees!
You forgot about the National League Pennant in 2000, I don't think that was 20 years ago, remember you said anything, you didn't say World Series. Yankee fans just can't take that for all their championships, the Mets are just as popular and draw just as many fans as the Yankees, except in the 70's, but the reverse was true in the mid 60's to 1974, when the Yank had bad years.
Loved it.
That was good.
To think he remembered the song that well.
Thanks for sharing this.
