omfg i almost forgot to say if it worked ok...

no it didnt and i think i know why everything was perfect also the casing and the fuse i used (a sparkler as fuse!)

but i know the problem when i made it out of matchheads or matchpowder it would have exploded u know why? its because it burns alot faster my sparkler powder doesnt burn fast so its always like a rocket engine (only not powerfull enough to be rocket!) but i just gone use much caps in my next firecracker and matchheads and powder:D!!

nighthawkinlight ur soo good that i must cry:') lol:P btw im making a sparkler bomb but not with tape i picked a 1/1.5 inch tube and i just made a plug with some hot gleu and i filled the tube (length about 2.5 inch) i filled it up with sparkler powder (not crushed just big peaces but no steel only the powder) and then i let one stick out and then i putted a plug on other end with hot gleu to :D i launch tomorow:D and im gone catch it on vid maybe i post it on youtube then:D (response i think)

they supply all the materials to make shells but no powders and stars, we want to make alot of homemade 8s but dont want to use compositions from leftover commercial shells, strictly homemade and I dont know where to get it.

8s as in m-80s? if so I will provide no further help, as what you are planning is very illegal and dangerous. It also gives all legitimate pyrotechnics a bad name and gives ammunition to those that wish to make fireworks illegal. Consider those things before proceeding.

no 8" shells, we are in a display company and have a type 33 license and other fire marshal permits.

Ah I see. That's right, China no longer can export 8"+ shells to the USA can they. In that case, I buy some chemicals such as sulfur from Skylighter, things like potassium nitrate off eBay, and I make my own charcoal. Paper hemispheres could be bought from Pyrodirect, they have fairly good prices on them. For canister shells consider making your own casings. If you watch my videos, 'how to build a 5" sun & planets shell' videos you can see how I go about it. Also, 'Multi Break Shell Design'

ok thanks, china can export 8" and up but not to us only our company we dont have the regulated paperwork, I love fireworks but I obey the law so im only using them in a display next year and make the shells over winter since our year is wrapped up.

nice shell! you make ball shells too? by the waydo you get all your stuff from pyrodirect, my brother makes shells and swears they are the best.

I have only made a handful of ball shells. I have some supplies from PyroDirect because I was sponsored by them for a short time. Other than what I received from them, I make my own shell casings.

No I am not. It is federally legal to build fireworks in the USA. Locally there can be any number of regulations however.

Nighthawkinlight a really good thing to do is crush (not mash) the seeds up to keep the weight of the shell down, so less of a lift charge is needed.

The seeds uncrushed actually take up more space with a smaller amount because they don't fit together so snugly.
