As much as I enjoyed this series at the time, it's even more valuable now. A demonstration of what a functional family looks like is a wonderful oasis of positive energy amidst all those promoting violence & meaningless sex. If every child could grow up feeling supported & loved, this whole planet would be uplifted. Best Wishes & Peace to ALL.
I appreciated the continuity in this series, unusual for that era. Long after the 1st episode, everyone continued to refer to the kids' parents. Contrast it w/another show from the period, Brady Bunch. Although Mike &Carol were married before, the kids never mentioned their absent parents after the pilot. Unrealistic, IMO. As syrupy & genteel as Family Affair was, I think everyone made a genuine effort to keep it grounded as much as possible in reality. I like that. Thanks for posting!
WOW.....It's hard in life to take on a sister's or brother's kids....lives go one and people live their own and the storyline...well....he lived a different life than his brothers and he wasn't a jerk. It's all about life circumstances.
Yes, Uncle Bill, your brother meant so much to you even though you must not have seen him for at least five years, since you never met Buffy and Jody before. You obviously didn't go to his funeral, either.
