If you had to categorize the subgenre of this what would it be? Wikipedia says it's a 'darkcore' prototype', yet the WP def of darkcore implies it should be really dark and even horror-ish, which I don't think this track is...?

@lucite11 I think people classify it as darkcore because of the vocal sample which comes from a documentary dealing with near death experience. obviously the subgenre of darkcore did not exist when the tune was made, but when people got around to making more obviously horror themed tracks this was definitely a precursor.
