  • Thanx for posting that it is one of The Greatest Wrestling Promo Vids Of All Time one I have never been able to forget because it told the story of one of the all time rivalries. I looked for it on youtube a couples years ago and couldn't find it Thanx Again Bro

  • i was only 11 in 89...GOd I miss the 80's...if only i could go back in time at the age I am now...

steamboat/flair=best feud ever...plus they have mutual respect for each other to this day

  • WOW... I don't remember this airing. The NWA/WCW was ahead of its time a little here. Great video!!

  • the Dragon will always be my fave!!!

  • is the guy in the beginning JR??

  • Yes, that's Jim Ross.

  • It's just one of those PPV's you wish you had the chance to order again.

  • As cheesy as Europe is, that is how great of a build up video that was for Flair vs. Steamboat in that era. Wrestling will never be as good as it was then.

  • final countdown wtf lol

  • I LUUUUUV Steamboat!!

Always remember Chi Town Rumble. It's when the greatest "face" beat the greatest "heel" for the World Heavyweight Championship!

  • this build up is the reason i fell in love with wrestling as a kid. i remember watching this the day it aired (and a few more times as well, I taped it).Its probably been almost 20 years scince then, and i still remembered what ricky and ric said in their promos word for word. It still gives me chill bumps watching it. Thank you for posting this.

  • HHH and John Cena will never have these type of classic title matches.

  • Agreed. Those days are sadly over, unfortunately. Benoit/Angle came the closest as far as an in-ring rivalry. Bret/Shawn, too.

  • Its WCW 89, Flair-Steamboat, hair bands and all...

  • then you don`t now

    for more critics

this is the most greates fithg ever

  • After seeing this, anyone who didn't order the PPV was either broke, dead, or in an area that didn't yet have PPV.

I first saw this when I picked up a tape of WrestleWar and GAB '89 on eBay, and it turned out to be a copy of the PPV versions, not the Turner Home Video cut-down versions; they played this for the home audience during the WrestleWar intermission. I'd been looking for this FOREVER to show some online friends--THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • I remember getting this on a comp tape back in like 1997. I had to run onto Napster to find out the group who sang this.

What great memories of 2 GREAT wrestlers.

  • what is the name of this song?

  • Final Countdown by Europe is the name of the song :)

  • Sorry ace792k7, it's real low on my disc too :(

  • This Promo makes me want to turn back time and got to Nashville and be at the event Live

  • Would it be too much to ask to like turn up the volume of the video? I mean, come on, man!!!!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Nature Boy All The Way.

  • rick flair is a awesome legend i love the clip rick slap down nwo team.:D

  • If by some chance this was on a WWE DVD, Vince would have to pay Europe to use this song.

But it would have been frickin awesome

  • glad you guys enjoy the video. i can watch this over and over again and never get bored by it.

  • 5 STARS 5 STARS all the way

  • i know he was aged in wwe but flair only put on a show like this in wcw nwa territories, wcw was his stomping ground flair in wwe sucked no offence

  • i see your point, but flair was getting up there in age when he joined wwe, and considering the fact that even at 56 he wrestled like he did, ill say this in WWE he wrestled half as good as wcw/nwa flair but still brought his mic game

  • Don't tell the singer of Europe I said this... but that chick? Looks kind of like a dude...

  • Good lord, this makes me want to watch this match now.

even is it was 19 years ago. Matter of fact, I think I will.

  • Best set of matches in american history from a pure work rate.

  • DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEtorit Basket-ball!!!!!!11

  • Aw yeah! "Final Countdown" and Flair/Steamboat! What a PERFECT combination. It doesn't get any better than that!

  • I'm amazed that they could have such a great year in 1989 but piss it all away by the end of 1990 with that ridiculous Black Scorpion storyline. Before that rubbish I think WCW was the BEST wrestling promotion in the world.

  • Two words: Ole Anderson.

  • Wrestling as a whole sucked from 1993 till 1996 till the monday night wars started

  • the matchs with flair vs steamboat were the greatest flair wasnt that good in wwe,wcw was his stomping ground vince shoulda kept wcw on

  • I like you enjoy this guys. This is what you call a build-up

  • wcw was the greatest what a match build up

  • Yeah, at that time, if you saw this video and DIDN'T order the PPV, you must have been REALLY broke.

  • any have the match from the next day??

  • This was awesome.

  • You are awesome! I remember seeing this video the day it aired. I was 13 and I have over 24 hrs of matches on three 8 hr tapes, not including DVD'S. This is the first time I've seen this Flair footage in years! I saved it THANX AGAIN!!

  • What a rare video I have tons of NWA/WCW from the 80's on VHS and watched it every time it was own but don't remember this. Plus I even ordered Wrestle War 1989 on PPV.
