The enemy is not invincible during ur attack. He does take the full damage, but he doesn't react to them because of the hit animation. They did fix that in the actual game, I think. But it aint a big problem.

oh phil you must not have beaten god of war one because that's when you kill ares. that is helios, the god of the sun, who is attacking the titan of destruction(who's name I have forgotten). the cestus weren't in god of war II, and Kratos is no longer a god. He is trying to bring about the downfall of the gods of olympus, who took away Kratos' godly powers at the beginning of God of War II. Kratos can't fly with the wings because they continually fall apart with usage, so he can only glide.
