I never get tired of listening to this man's voice..Hope I get to see him perform someday. His songs hit you right in the heart...and make you feel like he is singing them to you personally...not all singers have that gift...he sure doies. Thanks Ramey for sharing this ...gives me so much pleasure and peace.
Mr. Watson is amazing, He performs with a given talent! He portrays this talent very professionally. He is a natural and a true gift to country music. He deserves to be in the CMA Hall Of Fame!
Gene has a great voice and this is country music at its best.If you don't like country you don't know music but bless you. Thanks for posting this awesome song.
A pure voice and a great contribution to Country music. I recorded this song after a request by my friend Mark. Check it out on my channel. ***** Sherrill
Gene has had a lot of great songs over the years like One Sided Conversations and Nothing Sure Looked Good On You. Some how I missed this one when it was out. It's another great song by one of the best country singers ever! Thanks for the post.
My 7 year old daughter and myself got to see Gene on the 25 of Sept. It was a great show. She got a tshirt and he signed it and got his picture made with him. I am making sure that she knows what good music is.
This is just classic Gene Watson. It can't get any better. It amazes me that this song did not make it to #1. I was at one of his shows recently and his voice is still great.
When Gene released Back in the Fire, I really thought he would finally get his due. It was classic Gene material and this is one of the songs that showcased his vocal talents. Although the CD did well and he picked up a newer following, it didn't put him on top like I thought it would. His falling out with Lib Hatcher is sad, but I guess that's the way it goes in business sometimes. Sometimes your the windshield and sometimes your the bug. But, I still think no one can hold a candle to him.
Thanks for the share, Ramey, appreciate that. To me, Gene and Merle Haggard do this like nobody else, I'm glad they got recorded before the mold was broken, the kind of men who make songwriters smile.
Wow - another great one from Gene - his voice is like listening to the angels from Heaven and I can't imagine them doing any better than he does. Thanks so much for the posting of this one - Gini
i havent seen ole gene in years. lol man this brings back old memories. of the honky tonks. i love his songs and voice. thanks for sending me this. god bless.
We saw Gene and Merle Haggard in Branson last month. believe me, he hasn't lost a bit of his voice over the years! His part of the show was high energy and GREAT!!
Good stuff. Saw him in 2006 in Northern Mn. The Farewell Party band is a notch above super. Right now I'm on a Janie Frick kick after seeing her on Farewell party live.
Fantastic! This song is just absolutely MADE for Gene's incredible voice. He sings with such feeling. I like a lot of singers but I can't even imagine them singing this one half as well. Thanks GeneWatsonSongs!
It's difficult to name favourites by Gene because he never sings a bad song or makes a bad CD, but this is way up there along with Farewell Party, love it,5*
I wish I could have seen him in concert in the mid 80's. He had a number of hits and I was singing many of those songs. In fact I still sing some of them in my band 20 plus years later. Great voice.
What a voice. Gene Watson can sing a song as well or better than any country singer singing today in my opinion. This is a beautiful song. 5 stars and on my list to learn and post on my site.
such a Beautiful song from Gene, and one of my favs... and SO SAD, have lived this one unfortunately with my divorce, still makes me cry to this day...
I'm constantly amazed by this one. The tone, inflections, emotion and of course the incredible voice leave me speechless. Plus so many people can identify with the message.
