doesanyone remember when the Stones were on SNL. Garrett Morris pretended to be Jessie Jackson and wanted to ask Mick about the verse about "black girls wanting to get---------all night" But instead of getting angry , The Reverend J.J, asks Mick "where are all these black girls?", "how can I find them?", Do you at least have a few phone numbers for me?" One of Garrett's better skits.
Some girls is one my favorite Stones songs and albums. But not only this video shows that they just never manage to achieve the quality of their recordings when playing live. Sloppy is cool live but this sounds like the rendition of some grade school hobby band, just with more mistakes.
@CamelClass I often agree. The version of Hand Of Fate from 40 Licks sounded like they just decided to play it for the first time in 30 years! (and maybe they did), Mick messed up almost every verse and forgot the rest! Only on the 69 and 72 tours with Mick Taylor did the Stones truely sound like a great live band. The last few shows have there moments, but some bad ones as well. It's too bad recording technology was not better on Ya Ya'a, because those versions are better than the album .
like the time my mom walked into the room full of pot smoke, right when mick says "some girls wanna get fucked all night". she just turned around and walked out.
