  • Can we stop with the Chuck Norris stuff.. its seriously NOT FUNNY.

  • OMG is the helicopter OK?

  • Ride that blade...

  • "Hey I'm gonna be test piloting this new form of flight"

"Oh yeah, so what is it?"

"Well it's the helicopter, there's gonna be big fucking 20 foot blades spinning at 1000 RPM just inches away from my head. With no seat belt."

"Oh, okay, interesting. That sounds absolutely bat shit insane."

  • holy fuck this video is fake

  • 'I flew the first helicopter and got throw into the rotors, all I broke was my wrist'

  • Now he is Chuck Norris adept

  • @Norbi224466 What, he is learning how to be an out of work, has been actor?

  • did he get sick pay and a mars bar

  • what a dumbass!!! XD

  • He is lucky a nuclear bomb didn't go of fin that distance, or he'd be dead.

    Any other stupid remarks?

  • His lucky the rotor caught the tail before it hit him otherwise he would have been cut in half.

  • He was lucky it hit him in the butt and propelled him away, if it would have been at neck level.........

  • 43 Seconds

  • lol

  • Yes, he could have been badly bruised if a blade had hit his head. I think this was before helmets were made compulsory.

  • @857frank - was your comment a joke? I sure hope it was. Otherwise you're the dumbest YouTuber I've ever come across. His head or face would have been chopped off. lol

  • Thats insane. Lucky dude!!

  • You gotta start out on PS3 Apache Air Assault. It would've prevented this.

  • lvl up

  • MINOR INJURIES? sticking your finger in a desk fan is minor injuries. THAT wasn't minor.

  • @creamyfilling102 He broke his wrist... Braking a wrist isn't fatal..

  • @creamyfilling102 It's pretty minor considering that he could have literally been chopped in half...

  • @creamyfilling102 ------Uhhhhh..it's minor considering he WENT THRU SPINNING HELICOPTER BLADES! Idiot. Your comment is one of the dumbest I've seen over the years. LOL

  • Holy crap! That looks WAY more painful than a hand Vs. a ceiling fan blade!

  • SHIT! My helicopter! XD

  • OMG Was the helicopter ok?

  • The helicopter was like "Bitch get down!"

  • Holy crap

  • seatbelt?

  • @MrMasterMinecraftMan It doesn't mean a shit, lol,,It doesn't even mean, that you know more than someone ........maybe you took..but still cannot see the direction of rotor...lol.....I work with video for 5 years already ..and what? ...that isn't argument also...so .just.please.. seek on 0:13 and watch ..you will clearly see that rotor is turning counterclockwise ...so sorry, stick your 2 years you know where and just WATCH...you will do something good for you and for me too..

  • @MrMasterMinecraftMan maybe is....but it's weird ...and seems manipulated

  • @OnnomonnomonnO and chech that rotation again pls ... about 0:14 you can see the direction of blades clearly ...cause at that moment, blades got slower....don't tempt me to think something what is not true...when I can clearly see it....If you not, get some glasses ...but some good ones ....bye

  • @MrMasterMinecraftMan IMTELLING YA YOU IDIOTIC MOTHERFUCKER ...I CAN SEE IT >>CAN YOU SEEE WHAT I WRITE, OR WOULD YOU LIKE IT BIGGER????? JUST 2 seconds BEFORE IMPACT YOU CAN SEE THAT ROTOR IS TURNING AGAINST CLOCK! YOU COCK ! don't let me know about your blindness anymore! please!!!!! .............

  • @MrMasterMinecraftMan I can see the direction of rotor, you blind fucking raped slut

  • i guess this makes sense, i mean once he was ejected form the seat the blades would have started slowing down but im still amazed...

  • He is now an honorary member of the Rotary Club! Get it? The Rotary Club??? HAHAHAHA I kill me!

  • "I'm good!"

  • Walk it off. lol

  • omg

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • LMFAO!! that was amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • @OnnomonnomonnO Well, thank you Mr.Know it all. The sudden cut could mean anything, it was old, and a sudden movement from the camera man caused it to malfunction for a couple of second, even if he jump to the left, to lessen the impact, against a freaking rotor, he could have been sliced in half if it wasn't for the rotor having struck the tail..Well if it hadn't struck the tail, that wouldn't have happen. That would've been a better video though, getting cut in half.

  • @TheCherlux so why is that cut just at that point of video and never more ? .... I don't know all at all...just hate ppl who try to make real things from fake inscenations ...(no offence, mate )

  • @OnnomonnomonnO youre an idiot

  • Comment removed

  • @thelimeydude for idiot, everyone is idiot...

  • he almost got the achievement "Chuck Norris" he almost because he broke a wrist xD

  • @wallofdeath123

Better than Chuck, he walked away with ONLY a broken wrist. The man is lucky to be alive.

  • @Rubberduckyofdoomy nah chuck could have even destroyed the copter himself when that happened...

  • @wallofdeath123

I think R. Lee Ermey could do a better job.

  • @wallofdeath123 No Chuck Norris would have got up and tried it again.

  • The new definition to being clotheslined

  • And that kids, is why you wear a seatbelt!

  • @ilikemonkeysss THIS WAS GEORGE BYPASS FROM ILLINOIS!

  • He's lucky, looks like to rotor struck the tail and slowed down considerably before he got thrown into it.

  • He was very lucky that he didn't turn into minced meat...

  • how do you stop the rotor with my belly

  • wasnt his time

  • Too bad seat belts were'nt invented yet.

  • No need for another seat belt joke here.

  • Man im not the smartest man in the world but it looked like he was smack in the chest by the rotor.

  • should seriously consider a seat belt

  • ...The Pilot. who of course was an airplane test pilot, was overconfident, and the controls were much more responsive than he expected. The tethers were unable to prevent the helicopter from bouncing and twisting. But they eventually solved these problems and the Bell 47 became very stable and widely used adopted. It was the helicopter in MASH and the Whirlybirds. I know this because Arthur Young was my uncle. Thanks for posting it!

  • @brintoncathy The Model 47 was a benchmark aircraft! I got to train on one in school.

  • some background. The speaker is Arthur Young, the designer of the Bell 47, which was the first helicopter in the US to get a commercial license. These film are actually preflight tests of the prototype. the test pilots had no idea how to use the controls to fly it. Notice the ropes tethering the helicopter. The idea was to hold the helicopter down, then slacken the ropes a little to give a pilot a few inches of room to feel the effect of the controls. But according to Arthur, the pilot

  • Why does it say that he went through the blades, he got smacked mid-body?

  • lucky guy

  • Ahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhaahhabahahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha dumbass ahahahahhahahahah

  • @KINGBLACKY1 Not funny

  • old school tough guy..

"he was alright just a broken wrist"

  • design/security failure: The rotor of a helicopter shouldn't be constructed in such a way that it is EVER possible for the rotor to hit the tail or any other part of the helicopter

  • @sleepingeye I guess you've never seen a Sea Knight or a Chinook crash with a UBA failure

  • @largefather03

No i don't hink i have. Can't it be built in a way that such accidents are avoided?

  • @sleepingeye...wear a seatbelt??? :)

  • @sleepingeye In order to build a counter-rotating rotor system in a way that would preclude fuselage strikes, you'd have to either a) armor the fuselage making it less efficient, b) limit the flexibility of the blade roots, making it less manueverable and prone to excessive vibration, or c) tilt the rotor heads away from each other, putting stress on the airframe and limiting lift. That's why it's been the same all these years since Piasecki pioneered it.

  • @largefather03

    Thank You!

  • @largefather03 I'm not sure exactly what you're saying, but there have been variations, like Kaman's intermeshing rotors. But you're right about everything else. I don't think it's possible to make a rotor system totally safe from strikes; all you can do is try to stay within the designed flight limits. If you try bucking around wildly in any chopper, you're flirting with getting a tail chopped off or loosing a blade. Even a Kamov counter-rotating system will touch tips if you move too fast.

  • @justforever96 Sorry I wasn't clear; I was speaking specifically of tandem rotor systems... Counterrotating and intermeshing systems introduce a whole new set of variables including complexity. Funny, I was repairing K-Max parts today at work.

  • @sleepingeye A.) this was one of the very first choppers, and they were still trying to figure out if it would work AT ALL, and B.) they didn't have modern computers, etc, back then...they built them as well as they could, and had test pilots (aka men with balls of steel) try them out. They never had any expectation of the machine going through motions like that. A MODERN, FAA-approved copter that moved like that would probably hit it's own tail. The blades are light, flexy, and whip-like.

  • How stupid can you be to try something like this without seat and seat belt. He was lucky the blades didn't hit his head or he wouldn't be here no more.

Kids, don't try this at home!

  • that could ruin your weekend...

  • I feel so bad for laughing but omg, you'd think a seat might be an idea in a test vehicle.

  • @Terrr05 I think the plan was to move up and hover around a bit...I'm guessing not wearing a seatbelt was to ensure that one could escape in a crash, even if it meant getting thrown clear. Even race cars didn't have seatbelts until pretty recently. The drivers felt it was a better risk being thrown clear than being trapped in the wreckage, especially when you have a sheet-metal tank of 100+ octane fuel strapped behind you!

  • i thought his whole body would be chopped in half xD

  • @plozking5 lucky for him it wasnt because the movement of the helicopter bouncing slowed down the blades momentary and that just so happens when he flew into them, which instead of chopping him just slapped him really hard breaking his wrist.

  • No wonder, "bell.ca" sucks...

  • For those too dumb to know, this is real! Filmed in the early fifties in upstate NY. This is an early Bell design, the pilot was not Bell, but one of his supporters or engineers, I don't remember which.

  • The best part of the blade to be caught by, the centre is slower

  • @2wheelsteve How do you figure? You do realize whether it be the inner most, center or outer most section of the blade it is all still turning the same speed. The difference is the "distance" it travels in a given amount of time. Read up on rotational inertia in a physics text to see what I'm talking about.

  • @BLKJTakahashi NO you are being foolish, it is rotating at the same time but traveling slower, dont act more stupid than you really are

  • @BLKJTakahashi Isn't that what he said?

  • @BLKJTakahashi Closer to the hub IS slower than nearer to the blade tip. The tip speeds can be transonic one some models. The RPMs are the same but the velocity is different. Also, the moment arm is shorter at that point; consequently, the torque and force are lower. "Distance traveled over time" IS the definition of 'speed.' Like "miles per hour" and "feet per second." Maybe you should finish your first week of physics before you start trying to teach the class.

  • Haha uk that hurt like a bitch XD

  • Umm seat belts anyone?

  • @navyboy77 O.o *clicks seat belt*

  • @navyboy77 nobody even knew what seat belts were back then...

  • anschnallen

  • ROFLCOPTER!

  • Seatbelts

  • lucky for him the blades slowed down right before he got thrown up

  • haha he dosnt have a SPARTA SEATBELT

  • Shouldn't he have been wearing a seatbelt or something?

  • yt recommended this for me o_O

  • @XHeavenlyNightStarX me too lol hmmpphhh

  • looks like a dos equis commercial from worlds most interesting man. I believe it would go like this. A man so strong it tamed a wild helicopter by lunging himself against the blades to beat it's ass

  • that actually seems impossible. unreal.

  • ThAt sucks

  • no seatbelt

  • @xTnT87

yes......there's a lot to be said for seatbelts...

  • Chuck norris taught the hellicopter the round house kick

  • Guy looks like he got roundhouse kicked.

  • IS THAT MAN CHUCK NORRIS'S FATHER???

  • @yourmomwasherelol HAHAHAAHAH CHUCK NORRIS JOKE HAHAHA

  • must have been befor the invention of saftybelts.

  • No vids of that one, but it was pretty messy and it put the rotor blades of my HU500 out of track. That was an expensive fix for their stupidity

  • the guy must drink milk everyday!! :O

  • On a HU500 he would have been a gonner. Two geologists walked downa slight slope towards teh helicopter even though everyone was screaming no go back. Lost their heads...husband and wife darwin got them

  • @twogunz3083 Is there a video?

  • Will this video make the director's CUT?

  • Helicopters don't fly...they beat the air into submission !!

  • Riley Tho That Isn't A Funny Thing . Luck Was On His Side That Day .

  • He didn't die because he got hit my the central part of the blades. The edge of the blades is going much faster and would have cut him clean.

  • Should have worn a wrist protector, then he would have been all right. :-)

  • finally a guy 10x stronger than chuck norris

  • god did not want him to die

  • @justinlover619 so he put him in a helicopter and threw him through the blades for shits and giggles, right?

  • he cut his finger

  • always wear a seatbelt

  • lucky bloke

  • go buy a lottery ticket kurt

  • Strong stuff from the time where "Men are Men" the "Lucky - man" survived a lot of this "Volonteers" dont they need a lot of Respect for there Doing to give US the basics of or for our "Modern Times" . In a Time where "Men are Men" a lot of them are Heroes and pay with there Live. A Live count that much at this time where "Men are Men" so it was. This Video is not funny it only show us how the use human in a very hard and brutal kind. Maybee they send Guy next day to a new "Experiment"

    Who care

  • Sumones been drinkin to much moonshine

  • wooh. I thought i was gonna see an explosion of gore. thank god. man, i've been watching too many movies.

  • Niko Bellic.

  • @JurassicParkFan8 lololol

  • If you asked me Captain hindsight would have been able to stop this...

  • @rafpilotos or atleast given us some helpful advice to avoid it in the future.

  • @rafpilotos so would have seatbelts

  • @sk8boardn101 True, but when you look at it...

Southpark superhero *Captain hindsight* > seatbelts :o

  • hell you man i told you to stop saying that sentens it relly anois me!!!!!

  • well hes one of the few guys whove gone into the blades and still came out alive and fewer still being in one piece! lucky man,

  • ever heard of seatbelts?

  • wow I was 90% this was going to be a fake or shitty video... That was impressive and I am glad he was not killed.

  • if that was a modern helicopter he would have got fucked up

  • @Chriskoj yeh wud hav chopped the poor guyz hed off

  • @BadboySuper999 haha fuck the head he woulve have been cut like a fish for sushi

  • CAPTAIN FAIL

  • were's your seatbelt?

  • Funny how in the films guys always get cut in half or decapitated or whatever by propellors and here we see this guy just had a broken wrist. People have had worse injuries just playing football (soccer to Americans).

  • chuck norris would have broken the blades

  • @alideutscher No. The blades would have frozen in fear before touching Chuck

  • @caseyangus good one

  • kkkkkkkkkkkk

  • There's a saying in aviation - "Helicopters don't actually fly, they're just so ugly the earth naturally repels them."

  • @JBofBrisbane LOL. New one to me. I've heard from some Marine rotory wing pilots "Helicopters don't fly, they beat the air into submission."

  • @JBofBrisbane

and there's another one in the helicopter world--

    " VIVA VERTICAL!! "

  • @JBofBrisbane I like the expression "If the wings are going faster than the aircraft then it's probably a helicopter, and should be avoided."

  • @JBofBrisbane thats so fake or else my sister would be in space right now

  • @JBofBrisbane ROFL

  • @JBofBrisbane hahhahahaahahaha

  • @JBofBrisbane no they are not

  • @JBofBrisbane LOL

  • He got thrown through the slow (linear velocity) part of the blades.

angular velocity is the same at any radius, but near the centre the linear velocity is approaching zero .. the centre is actually 0.

  • @isilder god dang science

  • WOW wtf dude litterally he some lucky shit that could of whent thru his body and he cud of been pieces lucky shit i tella ya

  • @kow961 Um.....what? Spelling will count as 50% of your grade

  • Nah!!!!.....Chuck would've got up and kicked the fuk outta the chopper!!!!!

  • -That was Chuck Norris.

  • Its Igor Sykorsky himself ! pioneer of aviation in both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft

  • tiz but a srcatch!

  • Its amazing that he survived

  • that's what happens to airplane pilots who try to fly helicopters LOL

  • kids, this is why we wear a seat belt, and 27 people did not.

  • how the fuck he survived?

  • the pilot thinks this... I can fly this yes im the best oh shit... cartwheel

  • chuck norris was piloting the helicopter...

  • maybe they did it on purpose to see how many peices can a heli blade cut a human into lol....but shit blades didnt have a chopper on it

  • well it the blades didnt kill him then now uk they werent going fast enough to take off in the first place you fag
