Intercession will be done by other Prophets (Qur'an 21:28 and Muslim-381,383), angels (Qur'an 53:26 ), martyrs and the righteous ones. On a side note, Imam Ali(as) was a martyr and he was killed by a poisonous sword. Shaheed are alive not dead- (quran) People often INTERCEDE through Imam Ali(as) , while realizing all help comes from allah alone

Hazrar Ali (RA) was brought-up (got his Tarbiet) under the care of Prophet (SAW) and only Kafir or Munafiq would say that brought-up (Tarbeit) of Prophet (SAW) lacked morality, such that a person brought-up under the care of Prophet (SAW) throughout his life [Ali (RA)] would be drinking when grown up and would get drunk. To say that Ali (RA) was drinking or got drunk is indirect abuse of Prophet (SAW) that no Muslim/Sunni could even believe, leave saying ... except Kharjees, Kafirs or Munafiqs.

Why people feel so offensive when dr sahib appologizes, if somebody felt this way that he naoozoobillah is gustakhe harat Ali (RA), if yo listen to his lectures wallahi you feel proud of him what agreat personality he was and how much great work he did in tafseer e quaran and Hadees, shame on people who used bad language for him, I have watched and listened some of his lectures he praised several times "Inqilab e Islamic Iran" and in 1998 he'd been to Iran too.
