I have played this game and while yes it does have some of the same idea's of Mario kart it has alot of unique-ness to it. Also as many people have said before Nintendo is not the only one who can make a Kart racing game.

wow SUMO did a good job realeasing their product on all consoles. ussually games like that suck. I rented the wii version and own the PC version. i also played the DS demo. Its a very good mario kart competitor

@uncleflaco: In all fairness, being 'scamed' is ruled-out considering the fact that some many people are enjoying their Wii consoles. and so many wii's continue to be sold. We BOTH know that MS and sony would of done anything to come up with the idea.. but really lack the knowledge and creativaty and greatness of Nintendo. Horsepower does not = Better. If anything is a scam its more the Ps3/360, which lets admit, are more or less gimped PC's with nowhere near the functions....

@hypasonic123: Look man, you don't have to get defensive and hurt feelings over the fact that you bought a Wii. I own one too, but it collects dust, because not even my younger brother wants to play the thing. The folks at Nintendo are trying to push quantity over quality in terms of the sheer # of games released and they sell the Wii on fake short supply and gimicks (i.e. intercation). Overall, the games are boring and repetitive compared to the consoles (PS3 and XBox).

why are xbox / PS3 owners comparing their versions with the SD-only capable Wii version? It still remains the great gameplay.. Infact the wii version has a much more consistant framerate and thus plays better

. I have sonic & sega allstar racing on PC running at twice the resolution, 120hz @no less than 60fps with nvidia 3d vision.. it poops over the chopp 360/ps3 versions.. :-)

@funkyyfrank: Some people compare XBox360 & PS3 to Wii because Wii is the biggest scam in the Home Entertainment industry - bigger scam than Blue Ray. The graphics are 3rd Gen quality and the gameplay is for Preschool age kids, when the majority of people playing games are Teens and older (yes, even these types of games). The games for Wii are horrid, with exception to Super Mario and Mario Kart - complete rubbish.

I absolutely love the drifting aspect of this game. It's very comparable to Mario Kart Double Dash.

Though Mario Kart Wii is still great, this game has a better sense of speed and drifting.

Wii does not have HD output.

it's max resolution is 640x480. thats it.

480 = SD (standard def)

720 = ED (extended def)

1080=HD (high def)

SOME people consider 480P as ED, bur regardless it's no where near HD

There is no such thing as a "HD cable"

what you are referring to is a component cable,and has nothing to do with HD, It does not change the wii at all just carries the signal a little cleaner.

Don't get me wrong I love the WIi, and i don't think HD is necessary at all to have a good time. BUT the wii uses the same ol' 480 lines that were around in 1950's technology.

Look it up the wii ONLY puts out at SD standard definition. no cable in the world can change that. it might be a cable that is CAPABLE of carrying HD, but it is not.

since its a thicker cable it makes the signal a bit more clear, and any bigger cable does, but it does not up the resolution one bit is still old regular def

You're right, some assume that an "HD" cable for wii is actually High Definition when it is really maybe... "higher definition". There had been rumors about an HD Wii to be released, but Nintendo shot down those rumors two months ago. Most Wii games can be 720P, but you need an emulator.

I think it's also funny how nearly EVERY video about a Wii game ALWAYS talks more of graphics than gameplay. This game looks fun, but I'm still a die hard Mario Kart fan.

I hope this will be good. Magazines and a few sites are giving it 8.0-8.5, but one site gave it an A grade. I hope it'll be enjoyable, and fun all the time. Know what I mean? I'm glad it influences a lot of drifting. And all star skills seem fun to use, especially with Jacky and Akira.

I have the ps3 demo of this game and its very fun to play. the wii version is very good looking too, almost like the ps3's. I think I am getting this one on wii because I like the wii wheal a lot. But yeah the only diff on ps3 is that it has HD and more poligons on characters but it just about looks the same. wii has better framerate than ps3 though and that is better for me on racing games. I hate laggy framerate.

I just tried the ds demo version on the nintendo channel and it's ok. It dosn't have commentary and graphics are not that impressing. But the driving is better than the console version. On the xbox 360 the game looks amazing but it's kind of hard to drive at first. The best part would be the online muitiplayer. Although it's kind of pricy for 50 dollars. Wii is only 40.

Yeah, Crash Team Racing used to be my favourite racing game of all time, but this one here seems to be a really really good game, too, since my PSOne broke down.

Definitely looking forward to a great racing game.

The Wii version will be exactly the same, for the exception of the minor graphical details of course.

Its basically the same, at least to my knowledge. The only difference is that the Wii version will feature Miis while the 360 version will feature Banjo-Kazooie and Avatars while the Ps3 version has nothing.
