I don't even have enough character limit to say all the imperfections. I just pointed out the stuff I seen in the very first cutscene. There is many more in game.

@BLACKOUTMK2 plus,theyre not crappy its the art design of it.Colours are amazing characters and enviroments look amazing but its the art design that makes a more ''cartooney'' approach rather than a super realistic.It is better like this trust me,its the resistance style
@BLACKOUTMK2 there is a way to make it less pixelated.If you have a HD TV and a aHDMI you can take off the pixel from games almost 100%.I did the uptade it looked much less pixelated.But yes it had a few buggs,it shined in some moments and sometimes it looked wierd.But i guess its our eyes who arent used to this style.
When you have worked and developed on a system as long as they have, resistance was the PS3's first titles, you will find they know how to push the system to its limits.

I don't know...Rage's graphics just as impressive and id will deliver more compelling gameplay. Insomniac can make some pretty games but the gameplay is pretty boring after awhile.
@illVeritas hell no resistance has the most gameplay variety i've ever seen with tons of diff enemies that each require unique stratigies to fight rage does look awesome and all but i still think resistance will have the more compeling gameplay
@illVeritas Rage's graphics are very good as well. Graphics don't make the game though. I can't wait to play Rage of R3. I know I'll love em both. But, graphics alone, will not make any one game better than another. Rage's diverse game style is going to be slick though. R2 was sort of a downward spiral, but it looks like Insomniac's picked up their slack for this one. Rage though....I CAN'T WAIT FOR RAGE!!!! it looks so so so fun!

@fareedbakhit Okay, Killzone 2 was made in 2009. This game is running off of the up to date Insomniac engine for 2011. Killzone 2's graphics weren't THAT good. At the time yes, they were unbeatable for console, but now, no.. they're old. You could say Oblivion TES4 has really good graphics because of the environment and that was made in 06. But, there is no way in hell oblivion compares to 2011games, same goes for killzone 2. Graphics IMO, R3 > KZ3 > KZ2. <---- F A C T.

I always liked the way a shotgun blows the entire chimera into pulp. But sadly these will not be the same graphics as the game will be. It's a trailer and they make it look good so you'll get it but it's still going to be great.

Did anyone else notice the shotgun is upgraded and when you shoot enemys they burst into flames, as opposed to the first appearence of the shotgun in the first mins of gplay

And based on the amount of chimera and the scene with the giant chimera machine where you almost fall off the boat, you can conclude that it's a pretty long mission. @chillskid It is real time in game insomniac has stated this a million times. Game developers have the capability to go throughgames without crosshairs or a hud. U also need to understand that brown is not a great color to work with as its naturally ugly, but appart from that the lighting, physics and textures were great in that footage. Killzone 3 is the best looking console game out right now. However, Resistance 3 looks to be able to beat that benchmark. That extra year of development they took really paid off. I love both franchises, because they offer epic stories and gameplay. Oh, and they're also not on the 360 :)

I literally finished R2 and came online to see R3 videos. Not only is this "analysis" completely lackluster, you're making things seem better than they are.
"Bodies are actually moved by the momentum of the explosion." Games have been doing that since last generation. Sure, R1 and R2 didn't have the best physics, but compared to modern games thats hardly a key point.
The game looks great, but most of your analysis was showing pictures and saying "WOW"
@iJizzLots I know but if you watch the other actual gameplay videos and compare them with other console games this one looks better than most (with exception of Killzone, Uncharted, and most racing simulators). especially the multiplayer, it looks BETER than the single player, only problem is the animations are completely shit, but they'll work on that

They are fucking up the online on this game. It only has 16 players and killzstreaks. Resistance 1 and the first 2 halos are my favorite online games. But in my opinion r2 story was a mess but atleast you can regenerate health.

I'm not hating, but this "gameplay" looks enhanced to me. There's no hud, for one. After watching some real gameplay, this definitely strikes me as enhanced. Just look at it, it's nearly CGI.

Man, Resistance 2 wan't known for its graphics, but wow. I'm impressed. I remember all the crap R2 got from Gears of War fans about how the graphics paled in comparison. Well lets see them try that now.
@aandrew07 Insomniac really stepped up their game, they are competing with the big boys now. Tbh if not for Killzone 3, this would be the best looking shooter on consoles IMO. Looks amazing.
@rexxer86 I would say that Resistance 2 was playing with the big boys, as it stands as one of Sony's most famous shooters at the moment. However, this is on a whole other level. This far surpasses any of the FPS competition, even Killzone. I am very proud of Insomniac for putting this level of care and polish into the game, which is something I think R2 lacked a little.

For me this and KZ3 are well above all competition, What I'd like you to know is R3 is already completed, content wise, i.e it's a finished game, and can be played from start to finish. And because of this, Insomniac will devote the last 6 months of development time to graphics ALONE! look how good it looks already, like a CG movie, and the last 6 months will be on graphical improvement!! Incredible. :D
@aandrew07 The lead designer mentioned that in an interview with a Dutch PS3 magazine. Multiplayer will of course also be solidified during that time, if it isn't already 100% working right now, remember they have had so much extra development time on Resistance 3.
@rexxer86 I kno that i was not in this conversation but i find the graphical analysis very well done, but you left out two things
1. dynamic lighting. the dynamic lighting you can clearly see from this and the multiplayer is very superb to most games. the metal on the guns has a very realistic shine when fired, and the lighting on the levels in the multiplayer were very good as well.
2. dynamic water will be making a return. because of the new engine the water will react more realistically,
@rexxer86 as i was sayin before, because of the engine the water will be more refined, giving it the fluid look of water and less like chocolate syrup, like in R2
thats partially why the blood splatter effects look so real, they use the dynamic fluid effects that the water do

@aandrew07 I'll admit, I've always liked Resistance( I was gonna get a PS3 for Resistance Fall of man, until I played Halo 2) and gears of war is also pretty cool. However, the story line in Resistance is what really got me into it, it's just amazing; while in gow, the story line isn't all that good. I never really cared about Dom and Maria, only chainsawing some baddies. Resistance is better in some aspects, how ever GOW is better in others, in my opinion gameplay. I'm not insulting anyone here

And based on the amount of chimera and the scene with the giant chimera machine where you almost fall off the boat, you can conclude that it's a pretty long mission. And first off that gameplay was a different environment, and it was an early version of the game. OF COURSE THE GRAPHICS WON'T LOOK THAT GOOD!!!!!!! Use your head, and stop being such a jackass.

@chillskid It is real time in game insomniac has stated this a million times. Game developers have the capability to go throughgames without crosshairs or a hud. U also need to understand that brown is not a great color to work with as its naturally ugly, but appart from that the lighting, physics and textures were great in that footage. People who went to the community day saw this footage, the brown footage, and the multiplayer and they said the graphics were excellent, a few sites like joystick and gamespot also noted this. Killzone 3 is the best looking console game out right now. However, Resistance 3 looks to be able to beat that benchmark. That extra year of development they took really paid off. I love both franchises, because they offer epic stories and gameplay. Oh, and they're also not on the 360 :)

Let me just say something.
I literally finished R2 and came online to see R3 videos. Not only is this "analysis" completely lackluster, you're making things seem better than they are.
"Bodies are actually moved by the momentum of the explosion." Games have been doing that since last generation. Sure, R1 and R2 didn't have the best physics, but compared to modern games thats hardly a key point.
The game looks great, but most of your analysis was showing pictures and saying "WOW"

@rexxer86 I would say that Resistance 2 was playing with the big boys, as it stands as one of Sony's most famous shooters at the moment. However, this is on a whole other level. This far surpasses any of the FPS competition, even Killzone. I am very proud of Insomniac for putting this level of care and polish into the game, which is something I think R2 lacked a little.

For me this and KZ3 are well above all competition, What I'd like you to know is R3 is already completed, content wise, i.e it's a finished game, and can be played from start to finish. And because of this, Insomniac will devote the last 6 months of development time to graphics ALONE! look how good it looks already, like a CG movie, and the last 6 months will be on graphical improvement!! Incredible. :D

@aandrew07 The lead designer mentioned that in an interview with a Dutch PS3 magazine. Multiplayer will of course also be solidified during that time, if it isn't already 100% working right now, remember they have had so much extra development time on Resistance 3.

@rexxer86 I kno that i was not in this conversation but i find the graphical analysis very well done, but you left out two things
1. dynamic lighting. the dynamic lighting you can clearly see from this and the multiplayer is very superb to most games. the metal on the guns has a very realistic shine when fired, and the lighting on the levels in the multiplayer were very good as well.
2. dynamic water will be making a return. because of the new engine the water will react more realistically,

thats partially why the blood splatter effects look so real, they use the dynamic fluid effects that the water do

@aandrew07 I'll admit, I've always liked Resistance( I was gonna get a PS3 for Resistance Fall of man, until I played Halo 2) and gears of war is also pretty cool. However, the story line in Resistance is what really got me into it, it's just amazing; while in gow, the story line isn't all that good. I never really cared about Dom and Maria, only chainsawing some baddies. Resistance is better in some aspects, how ever GOW is better in others, in my opinion gameplay. I'm not insulting anyone here
