This is typical. People want Jesus for what His status -- and not because they owe Him their lives. The most Jesus could do for us was to die, the most we can do for Him is LIVE FOR HIM. Not just get all hyped when we are in a massive crowd. Demonstrate your worship in your daily life -- how? By dying to your selfish desire, and living for God and others (e.g. the lost sinners and the church). May God help those who are blinded by Satan.

The Bible says that Mary believed that Jesus was the Son of God, who came to redeem mankind. Because they believed that Christ was the Messiah, they were followers of Christ. The term Christian wasn't established until Paul came into the picture. However, that doesn't mean that people didn't believe in Christ. The man on the cross next to Jesus wasn't coined a "Christian," yet, Jesus told him that "today, you will be with me in paradise," because he believed (Luke 23:43).

Judaism is more of a religion than a race. There was a single, "all jewish" tribe that stemmed from the middle east territory (cant remember where), but that has little to do with the actual religion.

Mary believed, through faith, that God was sending Jesus. Mary practiced Jewish tradition so I would call her jewish.
