I built a motorized bicycle and now looking for a moped since they are registered the same here in California. $19 one time fee and you get the license plate.

No insurance and no registration after that.

Yes you have to be 15 to get your license for a moped.

And yes this model is registered and legally a moped.

Cool bike, wanted 1 like it too...... Well after all i got the new Alpino...... its realy cool. And as i can see, you didn't yet fell off it. I was rollin with it in the dirt the next day i got it =)

And for everyone else out there, Tomos bikes CAN and DO carry two peeps without prob (hell, they were 3 of my friends riding one of those at like 45 km/h) and are realy powerfull

You paid $2,200 for it? When i bought my 07 new it was only $1400. Anyway when i bought the bi-turbo exhuast i didnt notice really much of a difference other than it is louder. and i cut the stock pipe to a short straight thru put that back on and it drove the same. but it made so loud it can be herd half a mile away lol. if you want speed try changing the sprocket to a 22 tooth and i think 1 of those only cost like $20. it got me over 40 mph with just that. u do loose accel but i like speed

I own a tomos and a garelli from 1970's, they cannot hold two people, without probably being able to go like 20mph or lower, so how do I not know anything about mopeds?

The newer engines and cilinders from tomos and other 2speed mopeds can get 20mph plus easy.

I've got the same one in black and its amazing. With a kit, 1616 carb, boyseens, and technigas pipe i'm up to 50 mph. Just remember when you upgrade you have to lock tite everything with blue lock-tite. the increase in speed make s a lot more vibrations and pieces will literally fall off. I made the mistake.

Tomos is a great brand, the engines are strong and very solid. The older models had weaker clutches but the new ones I guess are better. Def not pocketbike quality and there are more then a few performance mods for them...

Nice bike i have the same one! Make sure you put a clear paint protective agent on storage compartment. The paint comes off very easily. Also put a cloth underneath the battery because the screws underneath it will dent it and eventually put a hole in it. Other than that you wont have to spend any money on it unless if you want to mod it. Its very relable.
