Anyone here who thinks Nils solo technique is weird or annoying.... That's wrong. This is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time and that solo is just amazing......
Agree with the Nils soloing comments. IMHO Bruce's style has always been more appropriate for his own songs, in essence his guitar is an extension of his voice. Nils has a weird, over-processed harmonic quality that I personally find annoying....and those wahhh, wehh, woooh sounds during his solos are totally distracting and purposeless.
Totally with you on that one. Nils is great, but he over does the solos. May be its a case for me to get used to Nils playing more often. But after years of listening to Bruce doing his solos especially on this song, this one's hard on the ears.
Also, ever since Big Man Clarence had his surgery, I don't see C and Bruce get together to play the sax and the guitar together mid song like in the older versions.
- I agree....I think Nils is a great guitar player obviously....but his style of playing is not right for this song. Bruce can still play great...just watch the little solo his has during this song, when I saw Bruce play Streets Of Fire in Philly, and he did the outtro solo too...I had the biggest smile on my face.
I understand Bruce wants to show the talent off of all the band members but he really should put this song to the way it use in 78 and 80.
The solos in prove it all night belong to Bruce...i dont know why he gives the final solo to Neils, he does it much better and he gest much more feeling together with the song!
Nils Lofgren can go take his acoustic guitar and back to Neil Young.

Nils solo was unbelievably awesome, kind took a page from Tom Morello though when they played the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show though
