  • can u video tape the middle of the bus??

  • It's retired, however I got a video fo the middle of a newer bus just like this, go on my chanel and look for the video called "Mississauga Transit 2007 New Flyer D60LFR #0854 (Part 2)" There's a video of the middle of the bus in that one.

  • Good video

Do You Know why they want to retire the 97** after only 10 years and replace them with new ones?

  • They're literally falling apart.

  • I Think it was a stupid decision to buy even more

I looked at them the other day and the frames are a piece of junk, the drivers hate them and they are terrible in the winter(from what ive heard)

  • You have to remember that these were the first production model D60LFs, so what do you expect. It's not the frames that are junk, it's the side panels that are rusting and have holes in them. Yes they suck in the winter, but all artics do. And the only reason SOME drivers hate them is because of the slowness which we can blame on the S50.

  • lol i love detroit diesel 50's but why do they allow manufacturs to put them in artic buses thats the same mistake they did for septa neoplan an460 buses, How come they dont put DD60 in them???

  • Because the S60s don't fit in conventional transit buses.

  • but they make the buses run slow and give them poor acceleration due to the size of the bus causing a lot of turbo lag. Neoplans had some dd60's in their units like for example washington Dc mta neo's artic's

  • Besides the B400-R don't fit on the D60LFs because if they do, the transmissions sounds like crap but they only use B-500R on those 60ft articulated buses.

  • It's because an articulated bus requires the use of an engine of 300 hp or more. The B-400R is tailored for use with engines with up to 300 hp and 925 lb. ft of torque.

You also have to remember that such older articulated buses from the 1970s and early 1980s were woefully underpowered (i.e. MAN SG220 and Volvo B10M). In the case of the B10M its engine produced only 250 hp or 275 hp.
