Why are people complaining so much about the camaro missing 4th? I'm actually suprized he didnt miss third at all because of the transmision problems with the camaro. So in all actuality he did better than most of the other camaro drivers. Good job and it's nice to know us camaro owners can hang with the cars that cost about 2 or 3 times as much.
@theKEVman011 Thanks. That guy just cant read. I told him dozen of time that I was having problems with my shifter and clutch are worn out (30k miles and most of the times it was abused) clutch was super hot too due to racing all night!
I repeat :4th gear is a straight throw down from third ,how can you miss it nine out of ten times?This video is not very conclusive other than z06 and 911 tt are very fast ,i own a z06 2007 and a camaro needs a lot more than a cam and bolt ons to even come close,in fact i raced a 2010 ss camaro with headers on a roll from 40 mph to 140 mph and he was a little dot in my rear view mirror.Its not even a race.
@camirocz AGAIN. CLUTCH was HOT and WORN OUT. needed a new clutch. plus I was having problems with the short shifter. as far as the Z06. I have a Z06. I had it stock, then bolt-ons, then heads/cam, and now fully built. I know what those cars are capable off. I have had 4 corvettes and currently own two. I KNOW how fast they are. is my camaro faster than a Z06? NO... but did I beat this one. YES. but this is street racing with different factors that can change the outcome!

@camirocz people miss gears. thats normal. when you have a stock clutch that was abused with more than 30k miles and it was hot from racing all night then thats what happens when you try to power shift. as far as the Z06 being the fastest of all cars. YES I COMPLETELY AGREE. the car is brand new with only 1800miles. driver is used to drive auto and the is his first sports car. thats why

@walhanQTR No my friend i do have a c6 z06 yellow 2007 and its winter here but i will post vidoes in the spring ran it a napierville drag way once last summer went 11.7 at 124 mph i know it will do better and ill go again this year and post videos.I still think missing third to fourth is really inexcusable unless your clutch is fried.

@walhanQTR Ok mister magic ...lol You seem to know quite a bit about people you ve never met.Why dont you bring your Camaro here to montreal and we can pull a nice race this spring.Hopefully you ll be able to see by my tail lights and wide rear fenders that i do in fact drive a z06!.Bring some glasses for farsighted people so you can be sure to see what i drive.Your youth and lack of maturity is very apparent but that ok its part of growing up.
@walhanQTR 210 is pretty good size, at least compared to me at 145 +- 5. Its enough for about two tenths in the 1/4 which would be four tenths when switching to the two cars where as with a smaller person it would be much closer. My guess is that without the camera guy it would be a good race.
@mattbhill yea I know. but wasnt sure what you meant by really big. also I checked and he is actually 190# which will still make a big difference. yea if no camera guy it would be really close.
@walhanQTR Thats a couple tenths of a second (210lbs), but either way love the vid. That Maro driver was shifting like a madman. It was funny seeing the Porsche driver with his arm on the door just chilling, lol. Great vid OP, both cars are impressive!

@shnto7 mostly yes. trying to shift fast and letting the clutch soon with the gear not being all the way in. but in my case it was because I had the stock clutch with 30+k miles and alot of abuse. and also because the clutch was hot as I did like 4-5 runs before those ones with the Z06
@shnto7 u know how theres 5 gears sometimes less gears sometimes more then 5 but in a manual transmission and you have to shift the stick shift into em . he just missed fourth gear get it?
@Camaromandave98 no that guy sold his car plus. I am in the process of selling the car too. but it will be no match. the camaro will def be faster after the new mods. it has more power than in these races. about 30whp more! plus the new clutch!!
@Camaromandave98 thanks. i had a problem in the races with 997tt because the clutch was hot plus it was the stock clutch with 30+k miles of abuse. with my new clutch now no missing gears!! :-)

Awsome vid. I have driven many z06's, 996's, and 997's and for that camaro to hang with them is impressive. One of the quickest cars I have driven is a 997 tt with euro exhaust, carbon intake, and APR tune. That thing was a rocket-560rwhp, it shat all over our z06 with melrose headers and corsa catback that dynoed at 496rwhp.
@Timfd024 Thanks. the race with the Z06 does not show the true power of those Z06s. this was the first time ever for the Z06 owner to race in his Z06 which only has 1800miles on it. plus he is not used to driving manual. the owner is much better now and he was able to beat a heads/cam 2010 camaro with him being bone stock. (this race the camaro has cam only!!) so the Z06 is def faster.
@jorcheva no its not....... car is still N/A... makes about 480whp now with my heads and fast intake. NO NITROUS!!! nitrous will be coming soon in few months....
That camaro is spraying, You can tell cause a pushrod v8 doesnt shoot flames unless its sprayed... Even if its just a 50 shot which I highly doubt, More like a 150 shot.. I make the same power to the wheels in my GTO which is about 400lbs LIGHTER then that Camaro and I run 11.60's @ 118mph. A Z06 traps 127 in the 1/4 and the porche is 10.90 car STOCK at 127 - 130mph So I HIGHLY Doubt a 4100lb car with only 450rwhp is keeping up with cars that are top end monsters with out spraying to the moon...

@Breze84 first, the camaro weights 3870lbs. second... there is only one Z06 that ran 10.98 STOCK all other are in the 11.3-11.4 range again STOCK... as far as the 997tt, fastest STOCK 07-08 997tt ran 11.7... this is an 08 not the new ones that runs 10s stock, the 07-08s usually run 11.9s... you need to get your facts straight... I am not saying my car will beat a stock Z06 ((hell I own a C6 Z06 I should know!) but that what happened here. the guy is new to the car and his only have 1800miles
@Breze84 as far as the Z06 goes, you are right my camaro will not keep up with a stock Z06 (with a GOOD DRIVER) even now with 480whp... but that what happened here. as for the 997, I believe what we saw in the vid is very close.. and the outcome should be very close to any other 07-08 997tt... cammed camaros trap ~118-120, that what a stock 997tt traps. so on the streets, its mostly a drivers race. i honestly dont care about what you think... all i can say is im NOT spraying!! believe it or not!
@Breze84 in that case, you need to go learn more!! I wont go into details, but please ask some of the big companies around here (texas-speed, LG, LME, ... etc) if all there cams will pass emission... i would worry about a tuner that doesnt know this....... def you wont be my first choice when it comes to tuning my cars!!!

@jaga454 hala walla 7bibi... the LSXR intake will give you very min gains with stock cam/heads. i wouldnt really recommend it unless you have at least a cam. and also get the ported fast should help a little. as far as car's life, no if the car is tuned right, everything should be fine. reliability wont be effected
@calbert1999 I a supercharged camaro will def beat it. but at the end he will still be driving a tt Carrera and i will be driving a pos camaro. if i had the choice i would take the tt carrera over the maro! :-)

My brother has a 2011 Cayenne S with zero problems, but I also heard about problems with other friends with GT2s and turbo Panameras. but I also heard a lot of good things about there customer service!
@abeeeeh on those vids, cam, headers, CAI, and ud pulley. but now the car have Heads/cam/fast intake/102tb/headers/cai/catback. its still not tuned as i was waiting for an adapter for my 102mm tb, but hopefully it will be dynoed next week :) hoping to hit 500+whp!
@abeeeeh the G6X3 is one of the nicest cams for those LS3s. I was going to get that cam, but they were out of stock so went with the TSP cam. The LG provides more power but the tsp cam has better driveability not sure about the heads though, but you cant go wrong with LG.
Well as a serious Porsche and car enthusiast I am impressed with the new camaro. Wicked sounding motor, very simple, reliable, it's very hard to outrun a V8... unless you have a turbocharger... or an electric motor. With that said the Porsche is much faster, it has more traction, and this starting from 25 mph thing is to make up for the camaro having unsufficient traction to fully utalize the snap of it's power. The Porsche is about 1 second faster to 60, and it would hold that all the way.

@ferrarifan18 my short shifter was loose + my clutch was done! I didnt miss any gear with the Z06 and the camaro... but the clutch got really hot after racing both of these cars so I had issues when I raced the 997tt. but I got a new spec stage 2 clutch installed few months back, and no more missing 4th :) and there is no way im getting an automatic sports car!
Why was everyone missing gears...lol go to the race track and learn to drive before you do that shit on the street and get someone killed because of your stupidity.

I love it when people think they know everything but they dont know shit!!
@walhanQTR When I just got my c6 zo6 it took me a while to get used to it too. I lost to some slower cars that were to driver errors. Miss shifts and not using all of the revs etc.
@cyclonus447 exactly... the owner of the z06 is new to the car, and he needs some time to learn and practice shifting! the Z06 is not really an easy car to drive, esp if you want to get everything out of it
Camaro is running strong but with those shifting skills, how do you keep missing 4th? That's the easiest gear to throw! Anyways, You think you can rerun that Z06 with about 4-5k miles on it. Don't want to downplay the performance of the SS but that Z06 was the prime example of how they perform BEFORE the really wake up, which is about 4-5k miles. My car ran like a WET DOG before that and this car is running exactly the same. Also, guy in the Z06 needs driving lessons!
@obZidianZ06 I had issues with the clutch and it was running HOT. I raced the 997tt 5min after running the Z06 (6 runs total but only 2 on vids) and the clutch really didnt like that. I just installed spec clutch, so hopefully no more missing 4th :)
as far as racing that z06, i totally understand (I own a C6Z06 myself) thats why I included the mileage, to show it still has more in it. also the owner was really new to the car, and this was his first race ever in it. he used to drive auto too!
@gtownmach for the power and min surging.... YES... it only bucks up to 1000RPM after that it drives like stock. very street friendly cam... even with the stock gears!
This is some good racing. Nice to see the LS3 hang with the Z06 and the 911. Pretty good driving by all the cars. Props to you sir. But quit missing 4th. Another 30-40 rwhp and you've got that 911 spanked.
@07chevyduramax my clutch is done, and when I powershift 2nd and third it get really hot and I can power shift to 4th! thats how. I will be getting a new clutch soon, so no more missing 4th :D
WTF is with the excuses against the 911? The Camaro did just fine. It was not faster than a Porsche 911 TT big deal. Chevy makes some of the best bang for the buck Cars with z06 and camaro. Porsche 911`s are three times as much in cost and the only benefit is it gets 78 times more pussy.

Do it from a standstill. That AWD porsche will kill the camaro, but good job on the camaro. I had a Z06 and loved it, you can't beat the sound and durability of a naturally aspirated V8.
@dontknow95 Yes you can hit 500rwhp without a supercharger, but you will need Heads/Cam/Intake + bolt-ons and you will be even over 500+whp! depends on the cam and other parts you get, but yes you can do it N/A
as far as cost goes. you will be looking at $800-$1200 for the cam kit depends on who you get it from + headers 1100-1300$ + CAI 400-500$ + UD puelly 300$ + install 1000$ (again depends on what the shop charges) + tuning about 400$

Awsome vid. I have driven many z06's, 996's, and 997's and for that camaro to hang with them is impressive. One of the quickest cars I have driven is a 997 tt with euro exhaust, carbon intake, and APR tune. That thing was a rocket-560rwhp, it shat all over our z06 with melrose headers and corsa catback that dynoed at 496rwhp.

@Timfd024 Thanks. the race with the Z06 does not show the true power of those Z06s. this was the first time ever for the Z06 owner to race in his Z06 which only has 1800miles on it. plus he is not used to driving manual. the owner is much better now and he was able to beat a heads/cam 2010 camaro with him being bone stock. (this race the camaro has cam only!!) so the Z06 is def faster.

That camaro is spraying, You can tell cause a pushrod v8 doesnt shoot flames unless its sprayed... Even if its just a 50 shot which I highly doubt, More like a 150 shot.. I make the same power to the wheels in my GTO which is about 400lbs LIGHTER then that Camaro and I run 11.60's @ 118mph. A Z06 traps 127 in the 1/4 and the porche is 10.90 car STOCK at 127 - 130mph So I HIGHLY Doubt a 4100lb car with only 450rwhp is keeping up with cars that are top end monsters with out spraying to the moon...

@Breze84 first, the camaro weights 3870lbs. second... there is only one Z06 that ran 10.98 STOCK all other are in the 11.3-11.4 range again STOCK... as far as the 997tt, fastest STOCK 07-08 997tt ran 11.7... this is an 08 not the new ones that runs 10s stock, the 07-08s usually run 11.9s... you need to get your facts straight... I am not saying my car will beat a stock Z06 ((hell I own a C6 Z06 I should know!) but that what happened here. the guy is new to the car and his only have 1800miles

@Breze84 as far as the Z06 goes, you are right my camaro will not keep up with a stock Z06 (with a GOOD DRIVER) even now with 480whp... but that what happened here. as for the 997, I believe what we saw in the vid is very close.. and the outcome should be very close to any other 07-08 997tt... cammed camaros trap ~118-120, that what a stock 997tt traps. so on the streets, its mostly a drivers race. i honestly dont care about what you think... all i can say is im NOT spraying!! believe it or not!

I wont go into details, but please ask some of the big companies around here (texas-speed, LG, LME, ... etc) if all there cams will pass emission... i would worry about a tuner that doesnt know this....... def you wont be my first choice when it comes to tuning my cars!!!

@jaga454 hala walla 7bibi... the LSXR intake will give you very min gains with stock cam/heads. i wouldnt really recommend it unless you have at least a cam. and also get the ported fast should help a little. as far as car's life, no if the car is tuned right, everything should be fine. reliability wont be effected

My brother has a 2011 Cayenne S with zero problems, but I also heard about problems with other friends with GT2s and turbo Panameras. but I also heard a lot of good things about there customer service!

@abeeeeh the G6X3 is one of the nicest cams for those LS3s. I was going to get that cam, but they were out of stock so went with the TSP cam. The LG provides more power but the tsp cam has better driveability not sure about the heads though, but you cant go wrong with LG.

Well as a serious Porsche and car enthusiast I am impressed with the new camaro. Wicked sounding motor, very simple, reliable, it's very hard to outrun a V8... unless you have a turbocharger... or an electric motor. With that said the Porsche is much faster, it has more traction, and this starting from 25 mph thing is to make up for the camaro having unsufficient traction to fully utalize the snap of it's power. The Porsche is about 1 second faster to 60, and it would hold that all the way.

@ferrarifan18 my short shifter was loose + my clutch was done! I didnt miss any gear with the Z06 and the camaro... but the clutch got really hot after racing both of these cars so I had issues when I raced the 997tt. but I got a new spec stage 2 clutch installed few months back, and no more missing 4th :) and there is no way im getting an automatic sports car!

@lgshar bad shifter??? do you even know why I kept missing 4th??? my clutch was done and it was really hot after racing the camaro + z06 ((in which I didnt miss any gear)) so when I raced the porsche, the clutch was asking for mercy and I should have let it cool down before running the 997tt but I didnt. check out my other vids. and I will post some new vids with the new clutch I got. I love it when people think they know everything but they dont know shit!!

@walhanQTR When I just got my c6 zo6 it took me a while to get used to it too. I lost to some slower cars that were to driver errors. Miss shifts and not using all of the revs etc.

Camaro is running strong but with those shifting skills, how do you keep missing 4th? That's the easiest gear to throw! Anyways, You think you can rerun that Z06 with about 4-5k miles on it. Don't want to downplay the performance of the SS but that Z06 was the prime example of how they perform BEFORE the really wake up, which is about 4-5k miles. My car ran like a WET DOG before that and this car is running exactly the same. Also, guy in the Z06 needs driving lessons!

@obZidianZ06 I had issues with the clutch and it was running HOT. I raced the 997tt 5min after running the Z06 (6 runs total but only 2 on vids) and the clutch really didnt like that. I just installed spec clutch, so hopefully no more missing 4th :)
as far as racing that z06, i totally understand (I own a C6Z06 myself) thats why I included the mileage, to show it still has more in it. also the owner was really new to the car, and this was his first race ever in it. he used to drive auto too!

Keep in mind that 997 Twin Turbo's gain an average of 100hp from a tune if the owner chooses to do so. None the less those are all some sick cars :)

WTF is with the excuses against the 911? The Camaro did just fine. It was not faster than a Porsche 911 TT big deal. Chevy makes some of the best bang for the buck Cars with z06 and camaro. Porsche 911`s are three times as much in cost and the only benefit is it gets 78 times more pussy.

Do it from a standstill. That AWD porsche will kill the camaro, but good job on the camaro. I had a Z06 and loved it, you can't beat the sound and durability of a naturally aspirated V8.

@dontknow95 Yes you can hit 500rwhp without a supercharger, but you will need Heads/Cam/Intake + bolt-ons and you will be even over 500+whp! depends on the cam and other parts you get, but yes you can do it N/A
as far as cost goes. you will be looking at $800-$1200 for the cam kit depends on who you get it from + headers 1100-1300$ + CAI 400-500$ + UD puelly 300$ + install 1000$ (again depends on what the shop charges) + tuning about 400$
