Bozzio is so awesome. Nobody goes to the cymbals with more precision. His hand/foot and cymbal combinations are the best I have ever seen. Joe Travers is a great drummer, but just look at how much busier Bozzio is. Bozzio has no peer. Clearly one of the all time greats, and a true master.
And young man, ZPZ plays with Steve Vai, Napolen Brock, Ike Willis, Chad Wackerman, Terry Bozzio and other original members of Franks band, only as quests. Dweezil carries on the torch and does it well.
Ladies and gentleman, lets hear dazamaru and his Zappa band. Im open minded!! Give us tour dates, Ill be there. Never miss achance to listen to Zappa!!
Im with ya Patrick, only Chad Wackerman came close to Terry.. Look for the website of Chad and Terry going at it. A drum shootout, its great. Sure you have seen it , being the Zappa fan that you are!!!!!
Keep up the Zappa fight, you love his music like I do!!
Bozzio is one of best players in the world bar none, if not the best. Nobody...nobody can play like him. He's the one drummer in all my years that no one could ever duplicate. Nobody!!! Aot of drummers can play/sound like Mike Portnoy, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Smith, Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Neil Peart, Vigil Donati, Tomas Lang etc. etc...but Bozzio has no peer!!
Boys and gurls, I saw ZPZ in Atlantic City NJ, and it was crappy. I dont know if the band was tired, but those sharp metric changes and intervals were really, really mushy and soft. Everything seemed slow and muddy.
The best Zappa cover band on Planet Earth is...
LOW BUDGET RESEARCH KITCHEN...from Portugal. They're on myspace
Boys and girls, Dazamuru knows NOT what he speaks of and has probably never heard a single piece of Zappa music in his life. If Dweezil and ex-Frank members cant play it, it cant be played...The right way, the way Frank intended it to be played...TRUTH!! Not trying to rip your opinion, but its crap! Simple Crap!
Ladies and Gentlemen, tubeme has made a bunch of assumptions. Not only have I heard just about every piece Frank Zappa has written, but I have seen Zappa LIVE 5 TIMES during the 80's. As a musician, I have also played and performed Zappa music. I think I should know.
Stud, Not to best you at all, but have seen him back in the early 70,s, with the original mothers , hell kid, I have Freak out on 33,s, dont disrespect your elders, Im the same age now and older, than when Frank died, Saw the man at least 5 times in the 70,s, along with Alice Cooper. Clap clap, you played the music!! Dweezil kicks you cover bands ass.
Wrong again Boy!! Just saw Dweezil and ZPZ this july, 2007, wrong again!! Note for note, realize this? How hard the music is? Think maybe Dweezil MIGHT HAVE IT DOWN?? Keep practiceing, am glad for anyone to carry the torch of Franks music, BUT Dweezil is ALL over you guys. maybe you ought to try out for ZPZ, lets see how good you are!! Not trying to be mean and nasty, but you know NOT what you talk about....Truth! Sorry young man!!
OK..since you wanna play "respect"...we will play it your way.
Old man, Im not in competition with "Dweezil" or anyone else. You have a hyper-active imagination. Im not in a "Zappa copy band" as you imagine. And Im not on any "tour".
I just stated that the band was off in AC. My opinion, take it or leave it.
Geez, you are going to great lengths to prove argue a opinion. That's the truth, sorry, old man.
Trying to be artsy.LOL!!! Frank Zappa wrote that piece. He was virtuoso's virtuoso.
Well it's a hell of alot better than being bitter, jealous, and ignorant like you. Bozzio can't help it. He's a true virtuoso himself, and an awesome player. Don't dislike the guy for being a great drummer/musician.
was the the one in houston, tx?
gosh steve vai and dweezil played for more than 2 hours....
that was one fun concert

This comment has received too many negative votes show
tube...respect is due, when respect is given. you started in on me...remember? Respect? Is that what you are asking for?
I never played in a Zappa cover band, we just played a few tunes, that's all.
Again, my opinion stands. They sounded like mush, in AC. I was there.
Where you? tube?

"dont disrespect your elders." --TUBE
Its amazing how you command "RESPECT" from others, TUBE....ive seen your comments to the Brit and others. Not very respectful.
Very hypocritical. You demand "RESPECT", but look at HOW YOU TALK TO PEOPLE WHO MAY HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION THAN YOU.
Amazing. For a "ELDER."
