As obscure a song this is, I couldn't believe when I saw the words "'Cause when the fool's in fashion, he's attracting everyone" written on a banner hanging in Edmonton City Centre's shopping mall. I couldn't believe that someone on the marketing board knew this song.
I remember buying the "Nobody Wins" single in 81 and I just HATED it. When I flipped it over and heard this song, I felt justified in buying the record. Wish this had been on The Fox lp.
Why isn't this a classic? Why is it unknown? There's no words Van goghish man, I mean, he has more well loved melodies than maybe any living creature and still these rare tracks continue to pop up, enough for a career behind the actual one. Amazing. Today critics hail Dylanesque white hetero middle of the road bores (because they are themselves) but history will show the impact of this Dr Jekyll-persona.
Reminds me of my friends. I love this song

The outro reminds me of 'Shoulder Holster'. I think I'll put this song on my iPod.

Why wasn't this included as a bonus track in the remastered version of The Fox? It's just too good for Elton's fans to pass by!
