I live in toronto, this winter sucked cuz me and my buddys got in 1 solid game of pond thats it, i dream of having a family grow up on a lake like this so they can play and learn hockey the right way... great vid, thanks for sharing
I look forward to this every year when the ice starts to thicken up, So much fun to go out with the tarp and some rope, The skate back is a different story though
@mrbenjitv Because I lived in the yukon for many years...and have Ice fished for my life time....when you hand auger through it you know how deep it is! Cheers.
@TheMrfreedomrequired it is usually 3-4 feet deep depending upon the winter cold.....anytime you come to canada and would like to go just tell me. Cheers
Belinda Carlisle was correct when she sung about Heaven being a place on Earth; she just didn't mention that it was located somewhere in the Yukon Territory!
how the fuck did u get this many views already. fuckin hell. can i ask u how many hours of daylight u get there?? cause when i left oslo we were lucky to get 5 to 6 hours. we got one snowfall so far, and im in ireland right now. its 20 degrees warmer technically but about two times as cold. im sitting inside my house here for some reason its winter its 12 degrees outside at night and im still struggling to stay warm here compared to minus 10 in oslo. hope u guys are getting on ok.
hey you there person with the mind of your own? oh ya you make the right decisions. will your decision making lead you to check my channel out? and end up actually liking the music within? oh baby its great shit
I'm from Whitehorse - Windy arm is about an 1 hr from here; tons of little lakes and what not (and up near Skagway thousands of glacial summit ponds). Never seen ice like this though - first Yukon vid to hit 1 million views?
Guys, please take a look at my video about my sister. She is currently suffering from severe epilepsy and I made a video trying to reach out for help, she has been on the news and the newspaper, and nothing has helped, and the specialists here don’t know what's causing her to have seizures almost daily. Please take a look and share, before she has another and falls down on her head again, all it takes is one bad fall, t would mean the world to our family. Thank you.
@jeepcaron i like how you say its filmed in alaska when it say YUKON right on the video. and i was just on google maps its at the B.C/ YUKON border dumbass
This is just beautiful. Nothing matters on that surface, just the simple bliss you feel as you skate and play on that clear sheet of ice is enough. You forget about everything, you forget about whatever troubles you, you forget about any hardships that surround you, and you feel nothing but happiness. This is the true joy that something as simple as pond hockey can bring you.
That ice is absolutely beautiful. Where I'm from, the water rarely ever freezes as nicely as it does in this video. Now all I want to do is skate on this lake. Maybe one day I'll be able to skate there. Fantastic video! :)
If you're curious as to why there's no snow on the ice it's because the wind from windy arm is so strong that it blows off all the snow despite the mountains blocking it. i live in the yukon as well and it's an amazing place even with -40 degree weather. I also know gab because this town is so freaking small!!! Congrats on your viral video and I hope they do make a beer commercial there.
Noone watches ice road truckers?? "good" ice forms in layers making it not see through, "bad" ice is clear like this, but even still it's perfectly safe for skating, just don't drive a big ass semi truck over it :)
Also, good shit guys! nice to see my former classmates going viral.
This summer, I was up just north of the Dease with my dad and some of his friends. With permission from the local native band we went fishing and looking for trilobite fossils in the most incredible wilderness I had ever seen. Northern BC and the Yukon is what you think of when you think about Canada.
@Tamaresque He knows because, unlike you, he's seen ice other than in ice cubes. It looks frozen at least 2ft deep, it would hold an elephant. Maybe even that mammoth that the Russians are trying to clone...
