  • @DerPilotMann - That's like asking "IF I buy a lottery ticket will it be a winner" All the expenses of owning an airplane are incurred from the panel forward. A $15,000 Cessna will almost certainly be near it's TBO....have many hours on the airframe,...possible damage history (but not always, of course) and require YOU....yes YOU to do the homework and figure out for YOURSELF it $15k is a bargain or a money pit waiting to happen. An engine overhaul can run $30k. Are you IFR or VFR only????

  • LoL at the guy picking his nose in the beginning !

  • @GeNiTaliA90

Apparently boogers are good for slicking back eyebrows. Who knew?!

  • alright alright....... but will it blend. and did anyone notice the guy picking his nose in the tower to the right?

  • @MrTails94 lol

  • do they speak like shit on purpose?

cause nobody understands that strange talkind starting at 0:01 - 0:07

  • @iSkateUshuffle No problem understanding what he said

  • @iSkateUshuffle You could not understand that? "Number 2 Paul, cleared into the tracks, Smoke off." He was giving Paul clearance to take off.. I'm guessing you never flown in a cockpit of a plane before ;)

  • @DownriverFlyers actually he said smoke on, because he was cleared into the tracks..

"maybe youve never flown in a cockpit of a plane before :)"

  • @iSkateUshuffle I understood it perectly well, maybe you have shit in your ears.

  • The worst decisions of my life was to buy an aircraft. I've had 3, and as the old saying goes, if it flyes , fu**, or floats you don't buy one , you rent one. I was even an active aircraft mechanic and it still didn't help that much. Airplanes are great fun , but if I had gone out and paid for 'block time' in a rental aircraft I would have come out much better financially and had been able to try out several different types of a/c...u are warned ..

  • The one thing to consider with a new plan is the considerable tax benefits that are currently available for new planes that are not available for used planes. A high income pilot can actually buy a brand new 172 and the first year after taxes he will have more money in his pocket than if he had not bought the plane. The IRS pays about 1/3 of the cost of the airplane, maybe more depending on your situation. You can get similar tax benefits if you buy a new engine or panel 4 your old plane

  • that takes balls

  • Oh Common NEVER SEEN BEFORE !!!? I was hoping to see some Body parts or something....!!!?

  • I remember the race director voice in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil - Very good race of Paul Bonhomme

  • that is amazing hands and feet!!!!

  • ESPN Air Sports

  • what tv station! and what time!?

  • for me i live in wisconsin, it is on a local channel at random times

  • what tv station brodcasts this?

  • That was IT ??? BFD...

  • no real credit should go to the pilots who are able to pull this off...its amazing. i've never seen anything like this before.

  • Most people don't realize how expensive planes really are. I'll put in into perspective: A small Cessna with a decent useful load (carrying capacity) will cost about $600,000 USD

If you were to buy a new small helicopter (like the one on the Magnum P.I. television show), you'd be spending over $1,000,000 !

What about buying a new, basic, 2 seat Cessna that people use for learning to fly? You'll have to spend over $100,000 USD

  • Buy a used Cessna 150-152 it will be between $10,000-$20,000 and it will be rather old, and probably smell funny. If you get a slightly larger plane still used it can be $40,000 plus. I would not consider buying a new plane unless I won the lottery lol.

  • @DerPilotMann Isn't that the issue isn't it? A smart man would buy a used plane for they are just as good as new ones but cost less, but without idiots buying brand new planes the industry would go to the shits. So technically the industry survives thanks to idiots. LMFAO. sad but true.

  • @marick626 If you have the money i don't see the issue in getting a new plane. Newer planes actually are a bit better from what i understand. I don't have numbers to back me up, but when i trained on 172's i was talking to a student who had a much older one (with a newly rebuilt engine and new prop) and he said that although it had better power than some of the other 172's it would just plummet once he cut the throttle. I never did get a chance to fly it...

  • @ebouwman034 The flight characteristics on the 1964 that I own and the 2006 that I fly in are almost identical... the only difference is that my flap controls are a little worn out to put it correctly :)... I just put a stall kit on mine and the thing takes off like a banshee... it acts like a stol kit.

  • @meinshnake I guess i can only speak for the planes i've flown/seen. Also i was comparing planes with different engines (a continental vs a lycoming) putting out different performance numbers, the lycoming (which was better) was bolted to a larger prop with a much better profile as well.

So '06 you should have a glass cockpit right? Those looks sweet. And a stall kit... is that the one where you put those vortex generators on the top of the wing near the leading edge? STOL kits are amazing :D

  • @marick626 Sad, but true - can`t agree more =O

  • @DerPilotMann one thing 2 consider with a new plan is the large tax benefits are currently available 4 new planes that are not available for used planes A high income pilot can buy a brand new 172 and the first year after taxes he will have more money in his pocket than if he had not bought the plane. • @martyburbank Yes, but even being able to get the financing for a new aircraft is difficult, especially without already being pretty wealthy. Certainly something to keep in mind about the panel though! Hopefully in about 5 or 6 years I will have the means to purchase a nice plane, hopefully a 210, if not a 182, or a piper (undecided on which model, flew an archer II recently, it was fantastic!)

  • @DerPilotMann or get a uset kit built and hope the seller knew what he was doing

  • @DerPilotMann IF i buy cessna for 15000 is it gonna be reliable ?

  • Real world figures are about $300,000 (180,00 pounds) used for a decent aircraft. You'll be spending over $1,000,000 USD for a race ready aircraft. Remember to add indirect costs to the cost per flight hour flown in addition to the purchase price and required options.

Anyone can buy one of these... your wallet is the only thing keeping you from owning one ;)

  • how much do those planes cost? Is there an equvalant available to the public? They look like great fun!!!

  • They are great fun if you are skilled and fit enough to be able to pull those extreme maneuvers without passing out and killing your self!

Not too many people can endure 10G of load and be able to have the mental capacity to maneuver the aircraft with this kind of precision.

  • This was filmed by a helicopter with a high tech camera. Just looks close but its not. Watch the RedBull races on TV and you would know that..

  • makes sense

  • it is reall deal with it!

  • it couldve just been filmed before the race as a bit of extra footage by a chase plane ya dickheads

  • It's real. You're a fucking moron.

  • of course its real dickhead..

  • but it looks real?

  • Some computer games today look so lifelike it's difficult to tell the difference. It's a real credit to the creators of the games and the hardware .

  • I know the person who was behind the camera. What do you say to that, you big fucking liar?

  • ya know......these days they have pretty fancy cameras....like the one on Discovery's 'Planet Earth' had amazing steady high Res footage from miles away.

  • ...

complete genius... no more word needed for you srimelon

  • they used different cameras for that shot thats why it looks different. either that or you must be visually challenged

  • Ok so the crappy little camera inside the cockpit can easily distinguish a bright blue sky from a white or grey cloud, every other camera can, why not the one in the supposed chase helicopter?

Here's another thing- the'r entry speed is 370km/h. You show me any helicopter which can maintain that sort of speed in controlled level flight.

...and where is the helicpoter in the side on scene? Look at the scenery in both shots and it's clearly at the same point, yet no "chase plane".

  • Wow, I really never thought the world had this much capacity for true dimwits.

  • to start it off i thought you were talking about the camera at 0:44 dont ask me why i just assumed. as for the chase video, that could very well have been a zoomed in shot from a chase plane or a simulation, and quite frankly, i dont really give a shit. its a great shot either way

and never mind about "visually challenged" comment, i was just throwing around words there...

  • Or could be one big cloud.

  • u are stupid sirmelon, " that is quite obviously a fake"???? u chat shit

  • Go and get an education you child.

  • There was no chase plane I was at the race personally, this copter does 200 kts and loops, it is specially equipped in fact I believe it is the only helecopter certified in the world to do loops

  • yING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Totaly Sick!

  • how do they get that camera that follows him the whole time before he enters the course

  • Helicopter...

The Red Bull Helicopter follows them through the course.

  • yeah that is what i was thinking. i just never seen the helicopter behind it so i didn't know if it was that or what

  • when was the last time you saw a helicopter going 200 knots?

  • The first shot is from a chase plane, then it cuts to the helicopter just before he enters the course.

  • uh pretty baller

  • That's So Cool
