Hi there im "Confused" can someone tell me "black henna".? Henna is never black, henna never dyes hair black, but powdered indigo resembles powdered henna and it DOES dye hair black. So, when indigo was sold as hair dye, it was called "black henna".? Some boxes of "black henna" are real indigo? Do you need to mix both Henna and Indigo to DYE HAIR BLACK
@FreeHandMehndi do you ship to the UK? and if yes, will I have to pay extra shipping when it gets here? I buy from a Henna supplier who has a shop on ebay, NOT something I would recommend 's a rule but I've had unopened summer 2010 Jamila with no probs so far. just want to offer my support really, ar you've taught me everything I know pretty much! x
I always use jamila Henna. atm I'm using summer 2010. I have one box of this crop year left. I'm wondering what the latest batch is, do we have one for this year? Xxx
i just bought henna powder at the indian market for a dollar 99... the color is fine but the date says best by december 2009. right now is december 2010. is that safe?
Thanks for all the good info. Whats the best mixture for hair? Lemon juice or orange juice. Also should I add oils like olive oil or cococnut oil? Please advise.
@christyluve72 The video that will answer your questions will be uploaded in a few days. For hair, I recommend apple cider vinegar. You could use orange juice, but I think it would leave your hair sticky. Some people use oils, but I do not recommended it because it hinders the henna from staining your hair.
You cant. Good question. If you get it home, and slide it between two pieces of glass, you can hear a gritty grinding sound. It can always be returned to the store!
What do you think of nail henna? Is it ok for skin?
I use it only on my nails and try to avoid it contacting my skin. Do they put weird stuff in it? My friend used it on her skin and after 5-10 minutes she already had a VERY bright orangey-red.
Nail henna has the same stuff as those henna tubes for skin have. The tubes are just smaller. The preservatives can cause irritations in sensitive skin.
Thanks do much! This information is very helpful!!!

@ismich96bich Henna doesn't spoil like food, so it should be fine. Sometimes we luck out at the Indian market, but it's rare.

@FreeHandMehndi thank you! so you think that it will be ok even if i got it at a random indian store? i hope so! xD
