The 1990's Gulf War was to protect Kuwaiti oil fields from Iraqi control. Kuwait is one of the most brutal and un-democratic regimes on the planet so it is a bit strange we were so quick to help them out.

Saddam would have actually made the place better. He was quite liberal compared to the Kuwaiti government.

The US wasn't out to kill Saddam. That is why they turned around and went home (after lying to the Iraqi rebels). The "highway of death" didn't have much to do with getting Saddam either

this is something that has made me think about the military that deny that the uk military has killed kids. We all remember the reconstruction videos of british troops on operations where there is a little child that is nearby that is about to give away there position to the enemy and they must act in order to prevent there unit being detected.
