  • you can do this with 0 shots all you need is a lazer bore sight ..

  • can some one tell me where i can order/ print that target

  • @Eddiebayes177 I got them at Bass Pro. Thanks

  • when i get my m14 i will use this method to see if it work .......but it does make sense.......................btw the gun your using is an airsoft is it??

  • Hey just to let you know it works! Been doin it for years!

  • nevermind watched the video again and misunderstood. I just repeated what you said. Sorry

  • why wouldn't you just aim at center target, shoot. aim at center target again then adjust the scope until its on your bullet hole. That might be what you said in more words but that's not how I understood you.

  • @SirThunderPants

His last video that I seen was about sighting it in the way of shooting groups of 3 ( the way you said, to a tee) and without knowing he had this one, I made your comment about the expense lol cause I'm shooting .300 win mag, I agree on it shaving away the beer fund!!

  • This works (sort of), it's just more accurate to fire at least a 3 shot group, and then adjust your windage and elevation to the center of that group. The average of a greater number of shots will provide increased accuracy. But YES, this method will get you pretty close in just one shot. But hell, you're at the range, why not shoot a few and really get that scope dead on? Unless you're firing .338 lapua they're cutting into my beer money!!

  • This is how it is done with archery. Very easy.

  • thats a daft way of doing it IMO, your scope will have an MOA measurement, mines 1/4" at 100 yards, so if my shot falls 1 inch down and 1/2 inch right at 50 yards i know its 8 clicks down and 4 clicks right, best way is to shoot at a target and measure how far vertically and horizontally off the shot is, calculate what affect each click will have (if 1/4 moa 1 click is 1/4 at 100 1/8 at 50 and 1/16 at 25) and click until you have moved it the correct distance, then shoot again to confirm. Done!

  • @b18c4thom That's real sweet, but can your method be done in one shot? I think not...

  • @Trex1268

maybe not but you dont even shoot the gun in this video, talking is all well and good, but its not proving anything, its theoretical. also adjusting the scope to meet the POI is not the best way, and the reticule 'tube' will not be settled and may move after a few shots. counting clicks is the best way as you are calculating your adjustment rather than just wilding adjusting until it looks right,,,,

  • .... but none of these points are really relevent as it is IMPOSSIBLE to zero in one shot, but my method gets you a hell of alot closer first time round, and i can guaranty that. if you want you post a video of your method with the gun actually being fired, and i will do the same,

  • @b18c4thom BTW: I've been around rifles many years and I'm not ignorant to your method. 1 click = 1/4 MOA at 100yards doesn't take a genius to figure out...

  • @b18c4thom It's not theoretical. It's been proven by me and many others. Have you read through the comments? If you think it's impossible then you simply haven't tried it. You have a closed mind.....As far as a video goes that's daft. It would only prove my point which I know works fine. My range is 20 miles away and it's 10 degrees out.

  • The attitudes of some of the commentators reminds me of the folks I experienced at a backwoods gun range. STRANGE !!!

  • I'm a total newbie and laying in bed last night, I came up with this idea. Your video confirms that I'm on the right track in trying to get a handle on my vintage 10-22 and Bushnell 3x9x32 Sportview. I had the adjustments all screwed up but have it corrected using the rotation method ????? Wish I could find the correct manual. No go on Bushnell.com.

  • @stoker20 I'm not sure what you mean by rotation method? Thanks. let me know!

  • @Trex1268 Set scope in V blocks, confirm elevation and windage? is the same as you rotate the scope. I mostly went 180 degrees to 180 on the elevation, then the same on windage. If both are set to neutral/center/0, the crosshairs won't wander as you rotate 360 in your Vblock setup?? I wanted to get it back to the factory settings after I had cranked the dials in various directions?

  • I used your technique and I perfected it. Now, I am working on a video that shows how to zero your scope in half a shot.

  • Hi, I am new to shooting and I was wondering if this is the same method for sighting a red dot type sight?

  • what brand target is that? Id like to find and buy that one

  • @Acellio I'm not sure of the brand. I bought them at Bass Pro, and they are really cheap. Something like $5.00 for 20 targets. Thanks

  • @Acellio its a red head brand you can get from bass pro.

  • Please note i do not mean to demean trex1268. Most people dont even expect high accuracy especially those shooting rifles like this (an AK variant.. that is a very nice rifle but not exactly built to be a sniper/target rifle). You should ideally center from 5 shot groups (or whatever) after optically centering the site. That being said for the "average person" who is going to be plinking at cans or drinking beers and shooting freestanding in a field with his buddies this would be ok.

  • @cdreid99999 It works. That's all I can say. Five shots only leaves room for human error. That's why an average is taken.

  • @Trex1268 I agree it works that is the method i used to use and the one i use on a rifle that i want to center in quick. A good shooter can use your method and if they notice any inaccuracy can correct it anyway. It would at WORST be 2x the rifle/ammo's inherent inaccuracy and more likely 1x that so perhaps 1 to 1.5 moa

  • This is incorrect. This might work with an ultra high end sub-moa rifle using match grade handloads but that is all. The problem is no rifle is perfectly accurate and the ammunition used adds to the inaccuracy. The problem is if your rifle/ammunition shoots 2 moa at 100 yards and you line up on that shot you are actually setting your rifle up to shoot potentially 4moa. That is huge inaccuracy.. youd be better off using open sights. And that assumes youre sighting in from a benchrest indoors

  • The way I see it there's to many factors to discuss zeroing a scope even the slightest bump while it's in the case means u may have to resight it

  • can anyone answer this? once i zero a scope how often will i have to zero it

  • @drgnforce44ever You most definitely have to zero it every ten minutes.

  • I did this and it worked great for my red dot.but for some weird reason it didnt with my simmons.I found this to be interesting so i tried it with a cheapo tasco 22 scope and it worked great for it.My simmons is brand new and i did get it zeroed in but it took like 10 shots.

  • Hi ya John. That's my Daewoo DR-200. I bought back in the early 90's. It wasn't too long after I bought it that the good ole GOVT. banned their import. It's a quality rifle that was imported by Kimber.

  • What rifle is that?

  • taking the shooter out of the equation, nice

  • @Mrguns1011 Thank you!

  • That is exactly how I zero mine. But I always take a 2nd shot to be for certain and any minute adjustments.

  • @duane2072 That's cool. If I'm taking one of mine out i shoot the hell out of it, but when it comes to sighting it in I find that as long as the rifle is held still during the first shot, and isn't moved during the adjustment, any follow up shots being a little off are either human error or ammo variation, or possible just the elements of the day... Wind, temp, sun, ect... Thanks for watching!

  • lol it is! :P

  • man im digging that tiger blanket

    rawr

  • @DracoC47 Isn't it sweet!!

  • how do you zero a SUSAT sight ? i mean mine is on an air soft rifle and i was wondering how i go about zeroing it? any ideas?

  • @scamsr11 I'm not sure what a SUSAT sight is. Does it work like a rifle scope or more like a red dot? I've never owned any airsoft's so it's hard for me to tell what it is.

  • @Trex1268 its similar to an ACOG scope so in away similar to a red dot scope.

  • Comment removed

  • I can line a scope with a hundred shots, what do-ye think-bout -that?

  • @everettwilliams31 That's sweet!!

  • I love YouTube!! Thanks Trex1268!! ****

  • Not sure on your scope. I don't own any airsoft rifles so I'm not much help on them. I can tell you the on my rifles the crosshairs don't move when your head does. Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • Well, Depending on how I look through my scope, the crosshairs are in different places. Like if I move my head a little, the crosshairs move drastically. How can I zero in a scope if this keeps happenening? Theres no way Il get my head in the exact same place

  • @XTGWayward You need a scope with an adjustable objective "AO". Your paralax is probably set at 100 yards.

  • @everettwilliams31 So pretty much, if the scope doesn't have an adjustable AO, It can't be zeroed?

  • Does this work for airsoft?

  • @XTGWayward It should work with any scoped rifle. Of course accuracy will be dependent on what the rifle is capable of. Thanks for watching!

  • RAWR TIGER RUG!

  • @logan677 :) Had that rug for many years! It was a B-Day gift.

  • So you never tested to see if it would actually work? That sounds like a GREAT idea though. Never thought of it...

  • @treasuredroperX I have tested this many times and it works very well. Due to all the rain around my parts when this video was made I could not make it out to demo it. Thanks for watching

  • lol ummkay...Mr Mackie

  • FUCK NICE RIFLE!

  • Not to mention that rifle is going to move a bunch after that one shot. Effectively ruining the whole theory of this

  • @barrettdp You are wrong sir... Sorry to say but this works fine every time. As many in the comments have said.

  • @barrettdp

Indeed the rifle moves after the shot but that's not important, because you put it back into position by aiming at the center of the target. After this you start calibration.

As Trex already pointed out, there are many factors involved, that's why snipers have that corrections table attached to the butt of the gun.

  • @barrettdp It doesn't matter that the gun moves after the first shot. It doesn't matter at all. Just re-pont the cross-hairs to dead center (where you pointed and intended the shot to land), then adjust your cross-hairs to where the bullet actually hit the target (and do the most extreme adjustment first, meaning, if you need to move 3" left and 1" up, do the 3" adjustment first). After you've made the adjustment, re-aim at the center of the target and fire another shot. You should be close!

  • Can you zero in a squirt gun using the same method and does dry fireing a squirt gun damage it.

  • @primoknoxville Yes and Yes :)

  • @Trex1268 it worked very well my friend, thank you for this video

  • @mikethenascarfan Awesome!!! Glad I could Help.

  • @Trex1268 thanks

  • wait a minute,,i need a rifle and a scope to zero in a scope??? lmao

  • you can zero without firing - with a laser zero. Small laser is fitted into the barrel and you line up the sights: easy.

  • @liambrawley umn.. light just doesnt travel in a ballistic trajectory...

  • @liambrawley and wtf then about bullet drop and windage ?

  • lol Daewoo not my fuckstick of choice but it'll do... not sure about your methods brother but sighting in at 50 yards does not mean you'll even hit the paper at 200 yards... i start off at 50, move on to 100 adjust clicks n windage as needed and the same at 200. for airsoft it's the same process just compensate for shortage of feet per second

  • @bigerndawg22 I never said 50 yards would get you to 200 yards. I said if you can't hit the paper move it closer.

  • Lost me at about 1:20 into the video, not sure why why I need to adjust the scope and put it back into position if I hadn't moved anything after the first shot. Said to Line up, squeeze off first shot, line your scope up with the exact same spot you had the first (it cuts out and he says "place") which is going to be aimed twds the center of the target. Aim scope at the first shot hole then, is that the key? Confused.

  • @Miketrt I aim the scope at the center of the target and fire a shot. You then (Yes) put the scope back on the exact center of the target before you do any adjustments. All my rifles have a fair amount of recoil and are never where I left them after the first shot. By the moving the scope adjustments to the bullet hole your adjusting the scope to where the rifles actually shooting. Hope this helps.

  • awesome thanks

  • if its so easy why did'nt you demostrate your theory by actually shooting the gun?

  • @MrStrongarms Simple logistics... and those with a brain don't need to see the gun shot to understand what I'm talking about.... Later Gator...

  • @Trex1268 thanks man im gona try it out. last time I sighted in my gun I went through a box of ammo. haha

  • @grizzlyrdr Cool!! I hope all goes well and you save that ammo for shooting the fun stuff. Thanks for watching!!

  • @MrStrongarms Oh yea.. One more thing clown. All those "stupid lines" as you call them, are M.O.A. lines. Maybe you should look that up before you open your mouth on a rant that you have no idea what your even talking about in. Luckily, I did you a favor by erasing your comment so the rest of YouTube doesn't realize how stupid you really are. You can thank me later..... Good day.

  • is that real tiger fur

  • @cyote81 It's a Daewoo DR-200. Thanks.

  • I'd definitely use this for initial sight in, with the rifle on a lead sled or something like it. As for getting it really zeroed in, I'd do a couple 3 shot groups. This definitely can work out better than shooting 10 or 15 three shot groups if you have a rest that the rifle can lay perfectly still on.

  • Would this work for an airsoft sniper? Please help, it's a 3-9x40 scope. Need a lot of help zeroing it, it only needs to b zeroed for like 150 ft, I was doing it on 3 zoom, (least possible) from 30ft away, zeroing it there, then when I shoot at a can 75-100 feet away, it's no longer zeroed! Please help me, anyone, and it has capability to shoot accurately that far, trust me,

  • @44Tapout This technique should work for any scoped rifle. Providing the rifle is accurate enough to atleast get on the paper of the target, and nothings loose (mounts, screws, ect...) I don't know much about air soft. I've never owned one. Hope this helps.

  • Wow now that was way to easy. Saves me time and money at the range. Tks a lot

  • Too simple and easy!

Can't believe I never heard of doing it this way before.

My wallet and I thank you sir!

  • very good idea, i was thinking how the hell can u do that then it all made sense as soon as u explained it thanks alot for the idea

  • @wesjdm Thank you for watching!!

  • brilliant method but i recommend doing it 2-3 times also tip if u dont have a rifle stand get some old socks with no holes and fill em up with sand works a treat!

  • @archlord371 Very good sir! Thanks for watching.

  • @Trex1268 np

  • @archlord371 damn never thaught of the socks thing, thanks!

  • I m glad I found this vid.I had an argument last night with a pilgrim that said I was FOS.He was complaining that hed spent $50 sighting in his scope and it was still way off.I told him you could do it in one shot.I tried to explain it to him,but it just wouldnt sink in.It may not be dead on perfect, but that all depends on your rest and how stable it is when you make your adjustments. Its always worked for me and I just use heavy shot-bags to brace my gun.

  • @FoulOwl Very good sir :) As you and I know it can be done. Thanks!!

  • Dam, I knew about this for a few years but I liked to keep it secret, dunno why lol. It could have been described a bit better though, maybe with a pratical demonstration

  • Yes. It will work with any scoped rifle. They all work the same. Thanks!!

  • Thanks for the video! I will be buying an L96 by UTG with a 4X40 scope, and the UTG is airsoft, shooting .28's. Will this work with airsoft?

  • @iNatevlogs No.

  • frankenstein gun lol

  • I'm from Ohio.

  • are you from michigan or wisconson?

  • I thought of that too, it should work, but never tried it. Good theory!

  • @YellowW1222 It works very well. I've used it on several rifles. Thanks for the kind words!

  • what is that, looks like a galil and an FAL had a baby that takes AR mags

  • @m70c00l The rifle is a Daewoo DR-200. The civilian version of the South Korean Military K2. The wonderful Bill Clinton stopped their importation back in the early 90's. They can still be had on gunbroker :)

  • @Trex1268

Nope it was George Bush Sr., my man. Not Clinton.

  • @makman1962 No kidding? I stand corrected. Thank you!

  • @Trex1268

Nope it was George Bush Sr., my man. Not Clinton. Great video, btw.

  • That gun is not nice...

    It is EPIC

  • @pchelp3 Thank You!! :)

  • thankx bruh i just sighted in my gun to day and bruh it took me along timie but i got the hang of it i started sighting it in be for i busted of my 1st shot

  • @ghost2cipz Glad to be of assistance!

  • nice gun!

  • @TheYomamaLandon Thank you Sir!

  • Awesome!! Glad to be of some help.

  • OMG i love u for this it actually works! Did it in 4min and 24 secs! Works with just a bipod too!

  • could u use a bipod too? and what i understood is so u aim at the target shoot and then u just make your crosshairs go to the bullet hole(no moving the gun at all)?

  • Not quite sure I understand your question, but I usually use a target like the one in the video. It helps me align the crosshairs on center. Hope that helps.

  • do you have any tips on getting the cross right ( makes 2 90 degree angles with the ground if the gun is stood of properly)

  • man and i thought i was the only person who had thought of this method. i mean the method u explained is exactly wat i was doing. only dif is that i take the human element out of the shot by using a hands off trigger squeezer.

  • Barack Obama?

  • ok so what if your first shot dosent even make the target, then what? I was trying to sight in my 30-30 and i couldnt even make contact with the paper, what should i try?

  • @1skateanddestroy When I have that happen I always move the target closer until it hits. From there you can move it further out and adjust. Thanks

  • @Trex1268 alright thanks, i'll try that next time im out.

  • @1skateanddestroy bigger paper ! and you ll find your way to the center !

  • @1skateanddestroy I've had that happen before, I have terrible luck sighting in new scopes. The best thing to do is just make sure it's properly bore sighted first before trying to zero the rifle. He's right, too, you should move the target closer if you need to

  • @762x51n8o ya i dont have a bore sighter but i tried using the iron sights too help sight it in, im not sure if i works i havent shot it since... but thanks for the tips

  • what type of rifle is that?

  • @HackerHater2011 That particular rifle is me Daewoo DR-200. I think I have a separate video on it if you wish to check it out further. Thanks for watching.

  • thats a very smart method, dont even have to count lines to figure your MOA, or multiply your clicks for the shorter distance. I will definitely try this on my next scope

  • @bombardier420 Thank you for the kind words and open mind. The most important part is holding the rifle very still when adjusting the scope. Good Luck To Ya!!

  • thats wont work, i know because im a british army sniper and if you are a godd shot you wont need a sandbag to hold a rifle steady, in sniper training if the first shoot is off centre a second shot must be fired to first reveal a pattern in shooting, if no pattern occurs then external factors are affecting the shot

  • @RhysGarrish sorry bub... but it does work. I've been using it for years without any issue. Second, your not going to hold a rifle still and adjust the scope without having something that prevents it from moving. Finally, a pattern in shooting are the exact variables I described and are unnecessary because in the end your only taking an average of the pattern. Stick to your method, I'll stick to mine.

  • @Trex1268 if you know how to use the weapon properly you need to be holding the rifle when adjusting the scope, this is because every individual has a different method of holding the rifle, eg slanting it slightly which changes where the round falls, and we dont take averages of the pattern we view the pattern and adjust so that all rounds hit exactly the same spot

  • @RhysGarrish WOW!! You hit the nail on the head with that one. A real home run. Before saying I'm wrong think about it, because what you just said is exactly what this method is doing. That's a fact, so why are you arguing with it? Think, Think, Think... You just put your foot in your mouth. If need be re-watch the video and listen to what it's telling you. It absolutely works and accomplishes exactly what you just said, with one shot. Jeezz...

  • @RhysGarrish, i do not believe that you are a british army sniper....

  • @MadDwarfProductions Nor do I.... His age say 21. With a minimum service length of 4 years that makes him still in the army. Yet there are no videos of anything military. No "Sniper" rifle, no friends, no nothing. Also, look at who he's subbed to. XBOX stuff.. G4TV ect... He's a sniper all right. Maybe in Call of Duty Black OPS.

  • @Trex1268, awesome comment.

  • @MadDwarfProductions Thanks... You can just tell a real British Army Sniper would understand alot more about optics before they put their foot in their mouth. You saw it too :)

  • @Trex1268 LMFAO! There are too many of these kids online making cocky responses to firearm videos on youtube. They think they know something about firearms because they've watched a few shows on the military channel and play COD. I bet that sweet Daewoo Frankenstoner (shame they're no longer imported -jealous-) of yours is older than that "british army sniper".

  • @drgonzo212 Your very correct!! I'm sure this was an Airsoft Sniper that's played way to much Call of Duty.

  • @RhysGarrish british army sniper huh well what weapon do you use if you are one

  • Thanks for watching! I posted another technique for zeroing a rifle scope. It's a two step method that's very easy and accurate, but uses more ammo. Check it out if your interested. Thanks again.

  • thanks so much i dont have my SD96 yet but thanks... i had a rifle before this it took me 3 hrs to adjust it (thats how bad i am ^^) anyway thanks again!

  • Can you use this method on airsoft/airguns?

  • your 100 percent right on this video thats the best way to sight in a rifle and its even better if u have a mil dot because u can adjust to 200 or what ever yards and also most people belive your not suposed to change the magnification well bs if u need to get in closer to line up to the hole do it. it does not move the cross hairs just the amount of distance from eye peice to bore reticle as i call it so all i can say is keep nockin down your targets whether that be varmits or sillhouetes

  • @TheChevyHulk Thanks for the comment. I agree also on the zoom. Depending on the scope, a parallax adjustment helps in that regard. Good luck to you.

  • @theArmedJanitor I would think they would be the same. I don't think Daewoo makes to many different rifles. Thanks for watching.

  • Do you think you could use sandbags as a rest? I don't have a bench rest but would like to use this method.

  • @styrobuzz Hi, You can really use anything that will hold the rifle perfectly still with the first shot and the adjustment. If the rifle moves with either, then you have to start over. It's imperative that the rifle doesn't move during the process. Thanks for watching!

  • Good info!

    Thank you!

I do not own a rifle YET !!

    i pack a .40 & .38 ccw !

But i have open space here in nevada to

    Plink a .22 .less cost...more fun..and wife

    Can participate!

    Harry/reno

  • @Xx256xx1 Cool!! Good luck to ya. I'll soon be doing another video on scope zeroing. It's a different method but easier. I've been using it for over 20 years and it works very well. Thanks for watching!

  • how do you like this rifle?

  • @baker70romeo I like it alot, I've shot nothing but steel case ammo out of it, and it's preformed flawlessly. Thanks for asking.

  • @Trex1268 no problem. great looking rifle, i saw one in a gun show yesterday.

  • K2? where the hell you get that korean rifle?

  • @Scarherlin It's the civilian version of the K2. Way back when before Billy Clinton banned them they were imported by Kimber. I saw the adds for them in Guns & Ammo and bought one in the early 90's. Later they were imported by an Arizona company called B-West. They can still be had on GunBroker. I've even seen NIB ones. They've been banned since the latter part of 1996. Thanks to Bill.

  • @Trex1268 Now we should call that "Cliton's flare"!

  • Comment removed

  • I love that planet of the apes stock.

  • @semiautoriflelover Isn't that sweet!! Bill Clinton himself gave me that stock!! :)

  • @Trex1268 I had the same one on my MAK 90.

  • @semiautoriflelover Clinton was so generous!

  • @Trex1268 I saw a picture of a guy in California who has a toilet seat for a stock on his AK47. That was funny, He asked how everyone liked his thumb hole stock.

  • @semiautoriflelover Funny story!! My rifle, and many others, look so much "Less scary" with that big thumb hole stock. I could make it look like it should (pistol grip, ect.), but then I'd have to go through the 922r compliance BS. Just not worth the hassle for me.

  • its sick thow
