@JADWAR1 In portugal and spain, the higher level riders tend to use a little more curb from what I have seen and heard. If the curb was actually too tight, the horse would be overbent which is pretty obviously not the case here. You can see that in several of these pictures, despite using a curb rein, the contact looks very gentle. I have been to several of Ms Lochs demos and I am blown away each time by the happiness and correctness of each horse.
I would also be interested to know what looks wrong here. I was lucky enough to have ridden both horses in the past and found them to be sensitive, soft, supple, light in my hand, requiring minimal aiding, willing, energetic and extremely comfortable to sit on. To date this is my definition of lightness.
Hello Tom Always looking to learn and trying to stay open-minded so do please tell me exactly what you see that makes these photos so awaful. Thank you
Oh dear! Before being so judgemental perhaps you would be taken a little more seriously if you were able to spell correctly!
You've probably never seen a horse moving correctly, or light in the forehand so it may seem odd after all the travesties that are too often seen in dressage. You will no doubt have observed that one of the pictures is taken with only a lead rein in the mouth and yet the horse is still doing a brilliant piaffe!!! I would love to see you do the same.
Why is she riding so tight on the curb rein?
