does anyone know what happened to venus's incredible backhand? It was one of the if not the best backhand in the sport from 2000-2003. It was such a great weapon for her but these days it seems much weaker. i wonder why....

@ylaborde She doesn't step into her backhand no more that great so many down the line winners.... plus she is a more reactive players to what other players throw at her....

Serena took pity on Venus since she was injured in this one. She could have won 6-2, 6-1 if she really wanted to but didnt have the stomach to do that on a hurt and ailing Venus. I am pretty sure Henin would have beaten Venus in the final here in the physical shape was in (Venus barely beat choking Clijsters who sucks on grass), and Serena playing her real tennis beat Henin 6-3, 6-2.

That set point was something else... the wackiest set point ever played between the 2 of them, in particularly by Serena... listen to the crowds "Ouuus and Ahhhhss"

after this match both sisters wre never the same.

yes serena is number one but shes not better than 2002/2003 serena

and venus when she came back lost to lisa raymond... so lets say no more

thats why when your on top, take all those opportinites cos you never know what might happen

Venus could have easily won aussie open 2001 but she went in ill prepared

@jessietennis2112 Yeah Serena didn't celebrate because she had just beaten her wounded sister. And Venus sustained a severe abdominal strain in the semis.

its so sad cuz i honestly believe that if venus hadnt injured herself, she wouldve won wimbledon cuz up until the semifinals, she was hittn the ball beautifully..its unfortunate that this was the beginning of a big layoff due to the ab strain
