Amazing. Simply amazing. I don't know if this is Beatles or not (I hope this is from The Beatles). Some say this is Pink Floyd's. Some other say this is from The Pretty Things or White Trash, but if it's not from any of them, I just can say these guys had a lot of future and shouldn't have given up.
Amazing how many 1970s-80s BEATLES BOOTLEG books claimed this to be a real Beatles outtake (along with PINK LIPNIS PAPER TEST). At the time before CDs, almost NOTHING had leaked out of Abbey road studios. So fans were willing to accept anything as BEATLES outtakes. I dont think it sounds at all like the Beatles, tho I could see it being by Pink Floyd, didnt find it worth recording. Bizarre overdubbing on this version.
So, we've orchestrated it, now! Nice attempt, but it's better accoustic. I just wish somebody could do something with the speed increses. I'm told this is not them, but a group of non-Beatles that tried to sound like them one night around a campfire. Glen Campbell, at least one of the Bee Gee's and a few other people I don't remember. But, my ears tell me this IS The Beatles!
@RedVynil Nobody knows who did it. There's no hard evidence behind any possible origin. Hell, it was released originally under a vinyl bootleg from a now defunct bootleg record label. We don't even have the damn tape itself. If we did, it would a cinch proving or disproving the Beatles theory. My guess is, it's probably long gone.
If this is real, it sounds like one of those Jeff Lynne productions. He did the Anthology newbees and I personally don't like his morbid productions. The are downers
@capitolemiproducer This was originally a bootleg of unknown origin that circulated around during the mid 70's. The overdubs were added by a third party; it was originally just an acoustic demo.
Does anyone know the origin of the overdubs, whoever did it did a clever little job, especially beat matching the pitch shifts! Would love a high quality mp3 of this!
@Jeremyrishe Actually, yes. According to the Wikipedia page, whenever Paul, Ringo or George Martin (Their sound producer) were asked about this song (Using either of the titles), they said it doesn't ring any bells.
Regardless, even if this isn't Beatles, it's still one great piece of music!
I freaking love the beatles, and I know they bring happiness and that's why they were put on this earth, but for some reason, there is always a sad feeling to it as well. Im not sure why, whether its because of how happy and joyful they were and the fact that only paul and ringo exist. or that the good memories may not carry on and on forever. that way, way into the future, people wont feel the same was as me, or feel the same way as people did in the 60s. the excitment
This made a lousy song even lousier. My theory is that it may be the group that Bill Wyman was producing at the time called "The End". in 1968, Apple put out an advert for people to send in their recordings and that's why it was found in 1970 in the trash after a housecleaning. I doubt that it was John and George messing around in John's home studio in Sep. 1966.
stop complaining, this is pure psychedelic! whether its really by the beatles or however the quality is in the beggining has nothing to do with anything. its perfect..

Too bass-y to be a Beatles song. Martin never mixed bass like that. Nice try tho.

If this is really a Beatles song, then, there's no doubt about it, it's their worst!
ENACODNOM 9 months ago
@ENACODNOM they have never ever claimed this. Sounds like something they would have tried, but maybe they were so embarrased they never claimed it.

Who overdubbed this?
ABBEYROADSTUDIO9 10 months ago
The rock music added to the demo reminds me of the 1996 beatle sessions, the backing production sounds a lot like "Now And Then"

At the time this came out in the late 70s many beatle fans knew it was not the beatles at all. and to this it is NOT THE BEATLES
