@Gille87 Hi..... I wouldn't say "rules," exactly.... but as you know, even kane teach dance to wahine, they are some of the BEST kumu. And, yes- they are ABLE to dance the female part and may dance it when their women need help or when they have to show "form" in class and all, or when they are playing around but I have not yet personally seen a Kane full-on perform, on stage for an audience dancing the female part, except for you ;D

@Gille87 Hey Gil! It's so interesting, I have students that need the break down beat by beat and then I have others, like you who don't consciously break it down, just go with the music. That's good you don't have to count, you will never be caught counting out loud durning performance, lol... but some of your students may need the counts so it's good for you to get familiar with it :) (btw, my husband drums for us and he NEVER counts but I always count, so when always confuse each other, lol)
How do you do the body roll? I cant seem to get that one right.
