It's called knowledge, which is good. It doesn't matter the color of a person. There is a old saying Knowledge is power. Don't bother explaining it to them. They make fun of you. Don't worry reality will hit them right at the ass. Study as much Reading, math, science and history as you can. The more the better you become. Hate and greed is a enemy, hate can hold you back. Greed can destroy you or your love ones. With greed comes not respecting other people. Hope you have a good life.

Omg i so agree with you, like I also am the baby of my group. But like my group tends to be smart kids, we love writing etc etc. Thing is I will be honest I am the only girl who is brown in my group, so normally people think I act white when that isn't the case. I have friends of all races but I tend to get along better with people who want better for themselves. Not that people of color don't want that, it's just i need to find MORE people of color who are like that.

I totally understand what you mean. I try to surround myself with like minded people but it's hard to do that where I live. Those guys that I went to High School with were also from Trinidad so we had that in common. One of them even did a huge favor for me when I was going through a rough period in my life. They're cool people, but they just don't have the same goals as I do.

Do good in school meet an intelligent black woman at college and move to better neighborhood. Don' get caught up in the bs. I used to live in Pleasant City South Florida. There was so much ignorance there, and I got a lot of shit for talking "white." Make sure not to let anybody convince you that education is fruitless. It's key to getting out of the slums and into a good job. I think it would be great if there could be a program that would teach young black people how important education is.

the blacks by saying "acting white" your being racist against their ownselves. if "acting white" is the "right thing" then i guess i'll be acting white for quite a long time. and i know people who dumb themsevles down when they go to their community. like i know this girl who got almost perfcet score on SAT and when she got back to her neighborhood she lied and dumb the score liek 40%. I dont have any friends in my nghbrhdbecause there is just so much negativity towards smne who likes lrning

i used to hear that all the time. When i was in middle school, because i was different from everybody else, i was said i was being white and called different names, alse because i was light skinned. Im like, what the hell? Our forefathers fought to be equal, but then our age wants to separate each other, but still call racism on others when they are called out on their ignorance, smh.

I saw the fencing brother and sister you met on a documentary about the beijing olympics.

Yeah they looked like they would be. The documentary also talked about that fencing club and how they try to teach fencing to kids in NYC. I enjoyed it quite a bit! its called Beijing 2008 America's Olympic Glory. Its on Showtime.
