The opening sequence remains for me one of the few places in the series where Darlene comes off highly sympathetic. Most of the time she is very funny in a darkly ironic sort of way, but if she were a real relative, she would drive us to distraction.

Sitcoms aren't real life of course, but I have thought if I were David's father I would have encouraged him to find a girl friend who isn't such a dark lord. On the other hand [ starting at 1:55 > ] David might save her yet.

i love this show. its so much better compared to most of the more modern day shows because its so much more realistic, its not about beautiful people with a beautiful house and a perfect life. its about real poeple and what really goes on in life. nice episode.
