  • Wow i love it your work!! Excellent

  • Prima makes these gorgeous transparencies and actually it DOES make a difference which brand you use when painting with Alcohol inks. Most other brands of pre-printed transparencies use ink that will smear under AI & trying to determine which side is printed can be difficult. Prima's printing will NOT be effected by AI so it doesn't matter which side you use inks on, there's no chance to ruin your image by smearing. It's truly a quality product and all of their images are absolutely beautiful!

  • Gillian 927 that transparency is made by Prima but I'm sure you've discovered that by now :)

  • Absolutely gorgeous... I'm going to use this technique with stamped images on acetate! Thanks for the inspiration ;)

  • Who makes the clear sheet you are painting on and where can you buy them??? Also, do you have to do anything to "set" the paint or is it good to go once it's dry?

  • "Acetate sheets" usually come in 8.5 x 11" packs at your local scrap book store, or find them in online art stores like Dick Blick. The brand is not very important, since they are generally just thin clear plastic sheets (like the ones for overhead projectors in schools.) You don't need to set alcohol inks, but if you're worried about the finish just flip the sheet over so the painted side is on back. They dry quickly and are waterproof. The only thing that would reactivate them is more alcohol.

  • Thanks!!!

  • love your tutorial - gorgeous idea!
