Wow, wow and wow. I made a choice to get out of cabinetmaking for an over paid unionized job in a factory. I do have the ability to make a 5 pc. Curved, raised panel door, but it would probably take me a week ( including glue drying time and doing more predictable stuff in between)
I still see lots ads for cabinetmakers , but I wonder how many CNC guys a regular millwork shop has these days?
@locksmithmuggle He said "for this most part" they are hand made. He did not say that THESE are hand made. Bitch about what he says if you don't like it, but don't bitch about what you want him to say.
They are assembled by hand. And you have to program the CNC routers for each order...it's a lot of work. And the machines used to prepare the wood have to be readjusted for each and every order. It's a lot of work. Cabinets like this can cost upwards of $10,000-20,000 even with CNC carving.
This isnt hand made, wat a lie

@locksmithmuggle
Just what I was thinking. Way too much automation to call them hand made. Custom made, sure, but not hand made.

@douro20 They're custom made / hand assembled then, there's a difference.
Following your reasoning, then almost *anything* could be called hand made.
"Hey! Look at my hand made cellphone! Someone designed it / programmed the machines / etc."

So it's handmade on a bunch of NC machinery, yeah that's the ticket.
