I think the "place 'boob' in pump' portion of the instructions gave it away. That, and the water droplets still in the fish tank hose. :o) (also, the manufacturer probably doesn't use those "generic boob" pictures. LOL!)

What really confused me was the fact that a bicycle pump provides 'pressure', when you need 'vacuum'.... O.o
