This thing steers like a dream with the power steering! At low speeds it takes almost no effort to move the bars and point it in the right direction. At high speeds you still have the "feel" needed to keep her going down the trail in a straight line or in a slide.
If it is in 2wd the front wheels never turn under power. When you switch to AWD mode the drive system looks at the torque being applied to the rear wheels and when they slip the front wheels lock in and stay locked in until you let off the trottle. It works surprisingly good and is very smooth. With the EPS you don't even feel the torque steer. I was used to a full locker before and this does it automatically. Both front wheels are fully locked giving you full 4x4 when you need it.
kk, sooo you can have it soo it's in 2wd?, but when you put it in 4x4 it's not in until it detects a rear slip?.. sorry i interested in this bike i'm wondering how the 4x4 works
That is correct. In 4x4 mode the front wheels don't lock in until slippage is detected at the rear wheels. Once that occurs the front wheels stay locked in until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. That's when the front drive disengages.
Basically I have never had the front wheels not turning when I wanted them to. The system works so smooth sometimes I wonder if it's working and it always is. Its not jerky at all like the the CanAm Visco-Lock
I'm actually looking for a bit more adjustment on the shocks. A little compression and rebound adjustability would be nice. Need to find an adjustable swaybar for the rear end as well. Stock setting is nice for using the supension on rock climbs but she rolls a lot in the corners causing the wheels to grip more than slide thru the turns. With those changes and a little lower clutch lockup speed in low gear this XP would be the King of Quads.
how hard is it to steer compared to the sp 800

I am not 100% on the 4x4 system?
If its in 2 wheel drive, can the front wheels still have power sent to them when needed?
Or is it strictly 2 wheel drive when in the selected 2 wheel drive mode?
The AWD just threw me?
Please let me know!!!
As I would prefer to control what mode my wheeler is in...
