  • If Dallas Willard is dangerous for anything, its that going by what he says, he's not angling people into following him. He's putting the power source where it really belongs, with God. So anyone trying to externally control other people in the name of religion may not like what the man says

  • “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8–9)

  • This awesome haha. He encourages me in so many ways .

  • Be VERY careful in listening to Dallas Willard. He has extreme theological views which are outside mainstream Christianity. Think I'm kidding? Put "Dallas Willard theology" in the search engine and see what you come up with.

  • @ldkennison Jesus was outside the mainstream at his time also

  • @ldkennison Specifics?

  • @ldkennison Mainstream Christianity doesn't even satisfy anybody's goal to approaching a Christ-like attitude.

  • @jordaniangamer I will agree with that. Seeing as we are all imperfect, the "church" itself is imperfect. The church being made up of people, is flawed. I sure don't have a Christ-like attitude a good percentage of the time. So it is really up to me (and you) to strive to be more Christ-like. Whether our individual churches that we attend can help us meet that goal, is arguable, I suppose. Maybe I should have said that Mr. Willard's views often do not mesh with the teachings of Jesus.

  • @ldkennison1 What is it exactly that makes you believe Mr. Willard's views often do not mesh with the teachings of Jesus? I like your response, by the way. It reminds me that there are a number of great churches that truely help shape us to become true disciples of Christ. I only meant that generally, the typical Church (mainstream) isn't really helping us get to God's purpose for humanity.

  • Great video. Dallas Willard is right-on in his message. I especially appreciate his description of grace as the power to live a godly life in addition to the fact that it grace that saves us through faith.
