  • this is england we never back down till the end

  • im sad the bit where the irish join in wasnt included this ..its one of the few times i smiled in this movie

  • At 0.11 poor scot got frown other a englishmen shield

  • I used to charge in with Wallace on battlefields, then I took an arrow to the knee

  • @FTheLeo fuck off with skyrim jokes...

  • @iNarbage do society a favor and jump on a sword

  • 0:01 Edward: I think I just peed my self.

  • I might actually be living on the part of land this battle took place, i stay in Falkirk.

  • @highlandruby : They were too proud.

  • this was last saturday night not some scene from a movie

  • be a matter for the future!

  • The issue simply does not cause internal conflcit in Scotland and anyone who thinks it does simply has no knowledge of Scotland. As to the monarchy well the history is that the Scottish monarchs succeeded to the English throne - not the other way round. The Queen is a direct descendent of Robert the Bruce himself and many of the Scottish kings before him. The SNP are not a republican party and currently their position is that the monarch would remain Head of State and any change to that would

  • I heard that Mel Gibson got pumped up for this scene by pretending that the English were Jews

  • Montrose is William Wallace incarnate!

    Alba gu brach!!

  • EPIC WALL OF DEATH!!!! WOOOO!!!!

  • And stood against him proud Edward's army

  • @03nj ah the lyrics from an amazing song :)

  • FREEEDOMMMMMMMM!

  • @KNIGHTOFSCOTS

THE SCOTS CAN FIGHT A BATTLE BUT THEY CAN'T WIN A WAR :)

    English tilll I die, mate.

That's what is written in my soul-

That is what's beating in my heart.

    English tilll I die, mate.

You can have your independence all you need do is vote for it.

P.S It doesn't take an Englishman to divide Scotland, the Scottish are well versed of that by now.

  • ALBA GU BRATH! Best movie ever. Mel for President!

  • i love when the irish join with the scottish =D

  • @MidnighTx10 Actually this is fiction, the Irish and the Welsh were on the English side. This did not take place at all.It would be great if it had done. But again its another act of fiction.King Robert the Bruce, brother Malcolm.Went and invaded Ireland,to drive the English and there Irish clan alies out of there. It did not go to plan. And there was a famine, and people resorted to eating dead corpses.Today Ireland and Scotland are friends. But it was not always like that.Irish wiped out the Picts to.

  • @MidnighTx10 yeah me 2 :) The kings like "......Unbelievable" But that right there is two nations joining forces against their oppressors.

  • @Nascarrrrrrfan which needs to happen now!! lol

  • @GuyPennebaker why? We're at peace now. Whats there to fight for? We did what we set out to do: gain our independence. Whats left?

  • @GuyPennebaker a queen with her head still on her shoulders and Ireland and Scotland still occupied

  • @GuyPennebaker Not a monarchist myself but you are mixing up the ideas of indepednence and the monarchy. The Unions of Crowns and Parliaments are two different things. There is likely going to be a referendum on whether Scotland should stay in or out of the union now that the Nats are in a position to bring one forward in the Scottish parliament. It is of course up to the Scottish people what they decide. And whatever is decided it is a democratic choice which the losing side will concede

  • @gaconnochie scotland would do just fine if it wasn't in the union they have their own oil fields they wouldn't need any help from the UKs "union"

  • @GuyPennebaker I support the independence option myself. That doesn't conflict with anything I said and neither does your opinion change anything. The facts are that the Scots are free to choose. The political party (parties if you include the Greens and SSP) that represents the independence view is only now in a position powerful enough to put it to the people. But it is a democratic choice within Scotland. Scotland isn't occupied and there is no confict internal or otherwise!

  • How did they recognize each other in battle?

  • @BelgianGeneral that really wouldnt be hard, for one thing despite what the movies show most scots stripped off there clothes before battle, and the english armys had armour, which was something even the clothed scots didnt have, easy to see the difference.

  • isn't this the battle at Stirling?

  • Ahoraa ahoraaaa eeeeeeeehhhhhhhh

  • The best part of any Medieval battle is the clash :D

  • Every single time i run with my class in gym i picture this scene. Why can't they just give us swords? :(

  • Hun Turks killed them all hahahaha

  • the battle of falkirk was epic! i loved how they had the king with all those cool knights in the backround of the fight! they were so mysterious and bad ass =)!

  • WALL OF DEATH!!!!!

  • @mattBLACKpunk hahaha i was JUST about to post that

  • At one point i think i saw someone do a frontflip over another guy

  • im from falkirk and i see that alot ;D random i know

  • it must feel terrible when you are about to contact the enemy.

  • It always amazes me that the English people boast of defeating Scotland when our wee country has only a tenth of the population that England has. But we still won counless battles. Eg: Stirling Bridge (Wallace) 1297, Hadden Rig 1542, Ancrum Moor 1545, Newburn 1640, Clitheroe 1138, Duns 1377, Otterburn 1388, Piperdean 1436, Sark 1448. Not to mention the Jackobite battles Bannockburn 1314, Sheriffmuir 1715, Prestonpans 1745, and Falkirk in 1746. Just wish WE had a big population like England lol.

  • @chriskeenan1 it must be a piece of piss learning history in a scottish school. "Right class, we've got five battles and the script of Braveheart to learn, so let's get started shall we".

  • @chriskeenan1 : The English underestimated what you were capable of, instead of taking you more seriously. If they had considered you a foe to be reckoned with, which they surely were, the English may have won more of the battles.

  • @chriskeenan1 first of all, where do you hear the English boast about defeating Scotland? Second of all, the Jacobite battles were not Scottish vs English, they were a dynastic rivalry and civil war, there were Scots and English on BOTH sides, not to mention French and Germans.

  • @chriskeenan1 Irish and Scottish should start a war against england it dose not deserve capitulation

  • @duisteve Yeah because that would work you moron? Can't we just all work together? its so retarded how people think they're superior, grow up, were all equal.

  • @MrRobbo246 the english always think they are better they have to stop

  • @duisteve I dont know any english people who think there better. Im English and I have deep respect for the Scots, Irish and the Welsh.

  • @MrRobbo246 than why wont you let the scots have their own country

  • @duisteve The scots have got their own country? :P

  • @duisteve Yeah, the scots do have their own Country, just as the english do. They are part of the United Kingdom, just as the English are. They are free to leave the United Kingdom whenever the people of that nation wish to do so via referendum. The current scotish government want to leave the UK.

  • @duisteve As for the Irish & Scots V England, Ireland's already gone down the shitter in terms of money, they couldn't pay an army even if they wanted a war with the English. The scots are free to leave, why bother killing over it? The whole idea is non-sensicle. You're an Idiot. Good day to you.

  • @Alphacaliber hey shut up btw r u mad bro

  • @duisteve What part of any of that text conveyed an air of rage or upset? No butthurt here buddy. you'se be trollin'

  • @Alphacaliber trololololololololooooooooootrololololkolooooooo

  • @duisteve All you had to do was press 'T' then 'R' and then 'O' and 'L' and you still fucked that up. I lol'd.

  • @Alphacaliber whats lold

  • @duisteve "r u mad bro" jesus you sound like a fucking retard. Scotland is it's own country it's also part of the UK

  • @DrinkToIreland no i am happy bro

  • @MrRobbo246 But that's the whole point. "We are all equal". The English have never seen themselves as equals with Scotland. They have always thought they are better, You just have to look at the BBC news (the BRITISH broadcasting corporation) to see what I mean. I watch the news at 6 every night, and it's "England and Wales this- England and Wales that. Hardly a mention of Scotland. Watch it a few nights in a row, and you'll see exactly what I mean. It's like they're only talking to the ENGLISH.

  • @chriskeenan1 Hmm but I think thats due to population size isn't it? I dont really know mate, maybe it is wrong, all I've been trying to say is I've never heard an Englishman boast about beating the scottish haha I wish as a race we could all just let go of the past, which none of us were involved in, but then again we wouldn't learn anything.

  • @chriskeenan1 While I agree with your comment if you were so good why didnt you invade England and conquer there?

  • @chriskeenan1 Scotland is gay

  • @KOOLKELLY94 You're obviously English. And remember your lot are the people who invented morris dancing LMAO

  • @chriskeenan1 In all the time I've lived in England, I have never heard one man boast of defeating Scotland, but I hear Scots boasting quite often, but here we see the Scots as brothers, as we fight together, from wars in Afghanistan, and helping one another within the Union, the English and Scots are out there dying together in Afghanistan and throughout this war, and world wars, have some respect,

I have Scottish ancestry that pillaged and raped the English even before Wallace I believe.

  • @chriskeenan1 ive never in my life heard an english person boast about beating scotland in a medieval war. and why do you say 'WE' as in you were there. it was centuries ago and you talk as if it matters now.

  • What was the english actually doing just standing and watching?

I actually cannot remember this part from the movie.

  • пиздец! вот это рубка!

  • I love how Longshanks shifts forward in his saddle just as the British infantry meets the Scotts. Almost like he's adding his own will to the force of the charge!!! Great!!!

  • @DarthZimmeris English, not British. It's the thirteenth century, Britain doesn't exist yet as a nation. But I agree with the rest of your comment.

  • come on scotland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the problem with the movie is that some parts are historically inaccurate :P, their were not even any irish in the whole war.

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Get inty them Scotland!

  • 300 Spartans would own both of that Army xD

  • i live in falkirk ^.^

  • No matter what yobs may say I think Edward Longshanks was a great warrior king who tried to unify the island of Britain. Too bad his son was a homo fop who made Piers Gaveston fuck his ass.

  • @socom6 Edward tried to conquer a free and independent Scotland.

and his son was not homosexual as in the movie.

The film has many historical flaws, but it got one thing right. Wallace was a true patriot and hero.

  • @BillDFC Yes he tried to conquer a free and independent Scottish kingdom, but so what? Its medieval Europe and that was happening all around. And Edward II was a gay ass poof who was no good he sucked at kingship and sucked Piers Gaveston Gascon cock, which is why Robert Bruce could have gone on a counterattack after Longshanks death.

  • @socom6 Edward 11 was not gay.

  • @BillDFC i didn't realise there were so many Edwards...11 of them?

  • An army of occupation then.

  • speaking as a newfounlander with a very very mixed irish-british backround, this has got to be the worst family reuion ever...perity sure my pop just killed my pop at 0:09. hahahaha..peace in mother lands . UK 4 ever!

  • @nat4053 well said...just as much irish fought against us as they did with us

  • The Irish fought with great ferocity AGAINST the Scots at Falkirk...nearly half of Edward's army was made up of Welsh and Irish.

    Fact not myth.

  • There were Irish on both sides of the question during the Scottish revolt.

  • @bookkeeper57 It was not a revolt,it was a defence of the nation against an invasion force.

  • Weren't the English already there? How can you force a free people to

put up with indignities as severe as "prima noctis"? Shown in this

film as the consideration behind the "secret wedding". There was

a turn of the century biography of Wallace written by Jane Porter that

made Scotland out to be an occupied country at the time of Wallace's

wedding. If he and his spouse were left alone, you wonder if he took

    up arms against the English.

  • longshanks tha lanky bastard!!!

  • you've been watching too much Mel Gibson mate

  • Fact not Hollywood fiction.

Wallace's small army of patriots were vastly outnumbered by a massive force of English,Welsh and Irish troops.

The Welsh longbow was decisive here as it was a fearsome weapon that cut down the schiltrons where they stood.

The Irish soldiers were on the English side.

The Scot's small cavalry deserted Wallace. There was no charge from the Scot's.They died where they stood to a man in defence of the nation.

    July 22nd.1298.

  • He died in 1305. not 1298 smarty.

  • July 22nd. 1298 is the date of the Battle of Falkirk....

Wallace was martyred Smithfield,London on August 23rd. 1305.

Don't make a fool of yourself again.

  • I care.

    bam. proven wrong.

  • The mass murderer was executed.

  • No,Edward got away....

  • Longshanks is pissed

  • England won =)

  • yeah they won the battle but not the war. Why are you happy for that. Don't you understand how evil the English were back then and what they were going to do to the Scottish.

  • you mean like touch them in private places, and make them try awkward unfulfilling sexual positions? Go Scotland!

  • i love this

  • What people don't realise is this still happens in Falkirk daily

  • what?

  • @gthreek haha and stockton-on-tees

  • @gthreek What?

  • @gthreek no realy mate

  • oh my God ..

  • i owned english in AOE 2 when i was in this battle XDD

  • i love that game

  • ehm thats is no game omg

  • scots waiting for idiot English knights is not as dramatic i guess

  • Great to see so many comments here! I have to start uploading more battle videos. I'm a huge medieval nut so I have a pretty complete collection of movies at my shelf. And yes, M2TW is a killer game (with Deus Lo Vult mod) but i think I still like Mount&Blade a litter more. Love the setting and the more personal touch on everything... and of course the total chaos of the fights :)

You asked for it. More medieval battle scene videos in the near future...

  • DO IT

  • biggest wall of death ever !

  • UG lllolololololololl1lolol1looo1

  • Mileading...At Falkirk the Scots were deserted by the cavalry, but stood in the schiltrons as they were cut down by the hail of arrows from the Welsh longbows. They fell where they stood, loyal to Scotland and WALLACE.

Outnumbered by the English,Welsh and Irish in Edward's army, their sacrifice was not in vain.We are still here!!!Scots wha' hae wi' Wallace bled!

  • No charges, in the Real battle the scots waited their foes on the other side of the Falkirk bridge, slaughtering them. Something similar to the nowadays 300 enlightened Thermopylis.

  • Well Mel Gibson was aware of how his battles weren't accurate for those events, but he considered them more cinematically entertaining. There are alot of idiots out there who can't take the time to learn history so whatever. Some medieval battles could be like this though so I guess that also shows the full brutality of the fight. But yeah as a whole it isn't accurate.

  • Well, being inaccurate, it still show the brutality of medieval war, so it's not that bad at all, I agree.;)

By the way, I had made a mistake too. :P

What I was talking about was the Battle fought at Stirling (that in Braveheart is the first shown-so it is still inaccurate, eheheh) not Falkirk. xP

  • No problem I understood.

  • Medieval II: Total War, anyone?

  • I love it when both infantrys collide like that. Best part of any battle scenes.

  • shit battles in that day must have been intense as FUCK, probably a bunch of friendly fire, and then u gotta stab a guy up close and personal and ur wearing a whole bunch of armor and blood is all over u dam that would be insane

  • Hey guys lets just enjoy the vid okay? What happened happened and we can't change it. Wallace was a good man, and Edward wasn't, but both were great military commanders nontheless. They just had different views of fighting. Lol I wonder what Edward would make of this movie?

  • owned

  • aye, i was there that faithful day, where me n ma lads charged together and smashed into the english. I had killed me maybe 4 or 5 em that day, and had hoped we would win, but then i got my chest stuck wid 3 arrows, and died.

  • seriously, if you are trying to insult me, ive heard better than that, actually... I pity you for being as dumb as you are, maybe you should go to school sometime, it might get that one brain cell of yours working again, unless youve overloaded it already with your stupidity

  • nooo, no babies, just gays, jews and disabled people, damn youre lucky you didnt live at the time

now you little dipshit, first of all I'd like to point out that not all the germans were nazis, then you just make accusations based on nothing, in reality none of my ancestors were nazis nor did they actually participate in any of the wars, then there is this thing that there are alot worse people than the nazis but somehow they still get blamed for everything, next time get a brain before writing

  • @CountAlexander that is a good point. there were and are worse people e.g. stalin. he killed 10 million people simply so no one could challenge him. the Nazi's killed 6 million jews. and also more evidence is coming out that Hitler didn't actually order the holocaust to happen. his generals did it to try to get rid of him

  • @TheFunkymonky2 and let's not forget the english as well. Damned english had my ancestors sent to the new world as slaves. T_T

  • @TheFunkymonky2 How does killing six million jews get rid of him? what was their plan? pile the bodies in his yard and hope the stemch drives him away.

  • @CountAlexander r u soft?

  • Can you 2 peoples stop arguing over something that happened 700 years ago! I know you guys are pissed and would like to bomb London back to the stone age, But seriously, Stop arguing over the internet. Its pointless.

  • tell that to israel and palestine..

  • Scottorum Malleus. Pactrum Serva

    Edward Rex

Leader of the 9th Crusade , Hero of Christendom

  • lets face it, the scots are like the hardest people youll find in britain, they live in the fuckin mountains like and they are fuckin solid, the english live in their nice flatland with their castles and shit, they have no idea what a hard life is like so they are a bunch of softies, not surprised they scots beat their asses

and Im german so Im unbiased

  • Tell that to the Scots who lost in hand to hand combat to English billmen at Flodden Field. Tell that to the Scottish knights who lost to the English knights at Pinki, tell that to the 18,000 Scots that lost to 3,000 English at Solway Moss, tell that to the 20,000 Scots that lost to 10,000 English at Dunbar. The list is very long.

  • well the enlgish still lost scotland otherwise it would now be called england, alng with the rest of the island, so no matter how badly they lost... they still have their country, their own government, if they put a little more spirit into it they could easily be a separate country again

  • What? Good grief you seriously need an education in medieval British history. You got proven wrong 10 fold and tried to make up for it, pathetic.

  • True, but splitting nations is a regressive concept. Look how much more Britain achieved than either England or Scotland alone. Historically, several nations amalgamated into one have always stood stronger and prospered more. And although now the EU is a shambles, I don't think it'll always be, it'll be a supwer power one day.

Unity's going to become essential to survival, and those who wish to stand alone to satiate outdated notions of nationalism will quickly be left behind.

  • @CountAlexander it would not be called England, it would still be called Scotland, the only difference being they would have had a different Norman line of Kings, instead of Robert the Bruce

  • @seal201111 - I can't even remember writing this... I came across really chavy and it makes me sad...

  • agree with your comments about the english fighting spirit . The worst scottish loss was probably dupplin muir , when only 2500 english defeated a army of 12-15000 scots convincingly

  • What the hell does it matter..so you all are culturallydifferent. You're still all the same people on that fucken island.

  • u stupid english wanker.

  • the English even had some Scotish help ofcoures used as fodder

  • to be honest i dnt know why we still argue over something that happened in the year 1314!!

  • becouse were scottish and fucking proud so there

  • pfft talk about riding on past glories :P

  • english were just greedy bastards wanting more land!!!!! they all followed kings scotland followed because it was there land and they were protecting it now thats real heroes!!!!!

  • weres england wen they slaughterd you

  • the greatest battle in history - Culloden - when Cumberland butchered the kilt clad Jocks - LMFAO.

  • fuck england. we beat your english gayarmy back to engerland 100s of times

  • haha dumb scot, u never beat us back

scotish army = bunch of trannies

  • really? is that the reason why 20 % of the sas are scottish?? and scotland only make out 8 % of the uk popoulation. what does that tell you u stupid english fag

  • thats not true u retard, about 5% of the sas is scotish

  • u dont know what your talking about u stupid english cunt

  • yes i do u dumb scotish prick

  • ok lets pretend its 5%. its still alot.

  • yes it is, and they are fine soldiers. always have been.

    now goodbye

  • you need to read history books - try reading about a small english army of 2500 which landed by boat and approached by 2 scottish armies - @ dupplin muir when 12=15000 jocks were scattered by those 2500 englishmen with massive lose of life or most recently when about 4000 england fans @ hampden in 89 chased the sweaties all over glasgow

  • it woul;dve been funny if a random flying sword split bravehearts head open, no more scots :D (i wouldnt be here if that happened but anyway)

  • Who the fuck is braveheart u tube?

    Its William Wallace

Braveheart is just the name of the film u dildo...

  • u

    u

    u

    u

    u

  • lol im a asswipe

  • The actual battle of Falkirk was nothing like this, there was no charge and the Irish fought with the English along with the Welsh and traitor Scots.

The Scot's cavalry deserted Wallace who was already outnumbered 3 to 1.

The English longbow won the day, decemating the schiltrons where they stood.

Some 10-15 thousand patriots died that day on the bloody field of Falkirk.

  • Actually the English Knights engaged the Scottish Knights and routed them, the English archers then thinnned out the ranks of the Schiltron formations so the English men at arms could get at them with sword and axe. Combined arms tactics, something that went completely amiss at Bannockburn with the English Knights arrogantly trying to break pike formations.

  • At least the Jacobites won the second battle of Falkirk, that cheers me up when I remember that Wallace was defeated here.

  • hey, look on the bright side, at least you then won the next battle, at bannockburn

  • The Jacobite Army had numerous Englishmen in it while the British Government force was mostly made up of Scotsmen. Now there's irony for you.

  • This is a very stereotyped film, really. Like, all the scots are kilt wearing peasants, the english all foot soldiers in chain mail.

On either side you had fully armoured knights etc, do you like Robert Bruce beat the english wearing his kilt and no armour? No, he was a well equipped as any of the English knights! The scots had knights, foot soldiers, militia and clans men, and os did the english (except for the clansmen)
