I just hit 180k on my 02 ford explorer 4.6 v8, and I wen't out the other day to a road were there is normally no cars and I wanted to see if big red! still had it and I let it go and I hit 115mph with no problems haha ford explorers are awesome.

i put a KN on my explorer. its 4wd. 4.6. xlt and it sounds the same way.... from outside the car it sounds like a race car. lol yours sounds clean too.

I have a 95 with a 4.0, flowmasters and a K&N still slow and sounds crappy.I also have a 99 with a 4.0 ohc all stock,filters and all and it sounds just like this one.Will try to post a vid this week end of each.

Best sound ive heard yet on the explorer, if mine had the v8 id get duals put on but i dont think a v6 would sound all that great with duals.

how come 1) 1st doesnt rev as high as 2nd? 2) at top of 3rd gear it seemed to rev, then drop or hesitate, then go back to revving again? i saw a vid of a 4.0V6 doing the same thing.
