  • um so they just put the dirt over the weeded lawn? won't the weeds just grow up through the garden? didn't use any preparation to the ground/lawn below before putting the raised bed?

  • I believe they did cardboard sheet mulching before putting down the compost.

  • 2:45 Leaf Mustache.

  • Was super excited to see they're finally planting in the front. Wanted to hug them!! But then was pretty bummed, to be honest, when he said they're moving the fence to extend the backyard & essentially hide their garden!! I can think of no greater lesson for your neighbors & community then to expose your garden. And, where your house was planted or where the sunny spots are shouldn't determine how you grow. I hope he changes his mind.

  • I FINALLY built my raised beds. I can't wait to start growing stuff. Though here in the high desert the growing seasion is almost over. But, next year I will have alot...

  • looks great, funtions better

  • Ah sir!

    Cheers boss

  • good solution for an unused area of yard

  • Hey John, what are you using to hold up those tomatoes?

  • 180 punds of tomatoes?? Holy cow that's more than alot! LOL Nice looking bed too! :)

  • you make so many interesting videos which I assume feeds your business. You might consider an upgrade with remote mics which will greatly enhance the viewing experience.

  • I currently do this for fun; a hobby; and for my sheer enjoyment of teaching others to grow their own food. This is how I feel I can make a difference in the world. One day, I will have a snazzy web site/blog that might help generate some income from this project.

  • I am glad you do this. I watch and enjoy them all.

  • @growingyourgreens

I think you should write a book too about all the great things you do to inspire people to grow their own food! It's easy to tell you must have many inspiring stories about gardening and getting others hooked too. :) great vids as always, Jon!

  • WOW! Its GREAT! :) Have a great success!

  • Hey friend, did you make your own greenhouse? Was it costly or difficult? Just curious. Do they sell prefabricated greenhouses?

    Peace

  • It is prefab. I will have a video about it later this week :)

  • Simple and attractive, very nice.

  • give em to poor people man...my drummer lives in l.a now he will take some im sure....i dont know if l.a is near there though

  • Eighteen tomato plants! Wow...many years ago I sold tomatoes from my forty plants. Since I kept reasonably good records, I figured that each plant yielded 40 pounds. I also used a drip system, and hay/straw mulch from the nearby field to a depth of about ten to fourteen inches. The plants never wilted in the heat. Your 18 plants might yeild 720 pounds! My variety was "Celebrity". Only have 10 plants this year!

  • All my tomato plants died but one and it is looking really bad. :( What are you all going to do w/ all the tomatoes? Karen strong like BULL! My back is so messed up I can't carry one plant. lol * Bricks? Looks like rocks to me? Big Thumbs up John, Rick & Karen!

  • I was so excited about seeing their bed, I said bricks.. but yes, they were rocks! Rick and Karin ROCK!

  • Good job, Rick and Karen. Your tomato garden looks wonderful.

  • awesome! Another convert to growing food on the front lawn! Let's keep this trend going worldwide!
