um so they just put the dirt over the weeded lawn? won't the weeds just grow up through the garden? didn't use any preparation to the ground/lawn below before putting the raised bed?
Was super excited to see they're finally planting in the front. Wanted to hug them!! But then was pretty bummed, to be honest, when he said they're moving the fence to extend the backyard & essentially hide their garden!! I can think of no greater lesson for your neighbors & community then to expose your garden. And, where your house was planted or where the sunny spots are shouldn't determine how you grow. I hope he changes his mind.
I FINALLY built my raised beds. I can't wait to start growing stuff. Though here in the high desert the growing seasion is almost over. But, next year I will have alot...
you make so many interesting videos which I assume feeds your business. You might consider an upgrade with remote mics which will greatly enhance the viewing experience.
I currently do this for fun; a hobby; and for my sheer enjoyment of teaching others to grow their own food. This is how I feel I can make a difference in the world. One day, I will have a snazzy web site/blog that might help generate some income from this project.
I think you should write a book too about all the great things you do to inspire people to grow their own food! It's easy to tell you must have many inspiring stories about gardening and getting others hooked too. :) great vids as always, Jon!
Eighteen tomato plants! Wow...many years ago I sold tomatoes from my forty plants. Since I kept reasonably good records, I figured that each plant yielded 40 pounds. I also used a drip system, and hay/straw mulch from the nearby field to a depth of about ten to fourteen inches. The plants never wilted in the heat. Your 18 plants might yeild 720 pounds! My variety was "Celebrity". Only have 10 plants this year!
All my tomato plants died but one and it is looking really bad. :( What are you all going to do w/ all the tomatoes? Karen strong like BULL! My back is so messed up I can't carry one plant. lol * Bricks? Looks like rocks to me? Big Thumbs up John, Rick & Karen!

Hey friend, did you make your own greenhouse? Was it costly or difficult? Just curious. Do they sell prefabricated greenhouses?
Peace
