Did you know that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, recruited black leaders within their own communities with the intention of aborting black babies and other poor children because she viewed them as inferior? This is a known FACT. Feel free to look it up.
I am born of an unwanted pregnancy (In this time ma parents has 3 children). My mother was in a period of depression and had a lot hésitée to abortion. She hesitated because she felt as if she miscarried, she would have had the feeling to kill a life, but also because it does not feel the strength to care for another child. The day she told me this story (very brave of her), I told her : "I I would not want to blame you if you had done it." This speech was partly reassured.
I once had someone argue that late-term abortion was completely acceptable because the brain had not yet developed enough to allow for thought or brain activity. They likened abortion in such a case to pulling the plug on someone in a vegetative state. My response was that it was indeed similar, but with the added understanding that the doctor expects a full recovery within 3 months. Abortion is a tricky subject, and anyone viewing it as black and white does so at their peril.
Im a Christian, not a fundementalist, not liberal in the slightest, yet not so extremely conservative neither. Be that as it may, I agree with your sentiments on abortion as well. I am not against it when there are crucial reasons to have it done(i.e. rape, ectopic(spellcheck?)pregnancies).
I would just like to say that I never said stop having sex. If you are too stupid to use protection properly then dont have sex. I have been having sex for 5 years and have not even had a scare. I currently choose not to have sex yes because it is less stressful but it is your own decision. I guarantee a lot of people who have sex do so under pressure and I am just letting you know that you dont have to do it. You will miss your virginity when you dont have it anymore
When a man and a woman really want to have sex, abstinence is unnecessary and even dangerous. It is a question of desire, but also hormones.
But when they act out the necessary precautions: condoms, female contraceptives, possibly knowledge of the partner (menstrual cycles of women for example). Education also plays an important role.
My sister had an abortion without anaesthetic, but I saw that it really was more emotional than physical pain, she didn't think she was "killing her baby" but rather she had previously prepared herself to give birth and be a mother, all of that was over within a few minutes.
That said, I remain pro-choice, I just think that the decision to terminate a pregnancy is not one which can be taken lightly, and should ideally be used a last resort, not as simply another form of contraception.
aye good job on the video hun. but um i did have one thing to point out if i mite add. you say its so easy to not have sex. thats wrong. its very hard to reframe from that. i can but i see more and more women being the sluts and cheaters then i do men. so all these young ladies and young men are havin so many one stands. we wont be able to stop it. its been an honor to wear our flag but i must say this country is fucked and is bein ate from the inside out! sorry but were doomed!

disagree with your logic, but not your right to have your point of view.
preventing pregnancy is the same as abortion? so if one can have a baby, one should? this implies all women should be pregnant all the time otherwise they are preventing possible babies.
You're right, abstinence isn't very hard to achieve! It's definitely harder for guys to TURN DOWN sex if it's in their face, but it's really easy for guys to AVOID sex. The sad truth is most women we approach for sex turn us down.
It must be harder for girls to avoid sex because guys offer it to them so much, but it seems easier for girls to turn down sex. I may be wrong, I don't know. But honestly, a lot of times masturbation is better than having sex with someone else.
What if you're in a loving relationship but you don't want kids, you use contraception but it fails and you're really not in a situation to raise a child?
I've done that.... recording a whole video without recording it. I'm surprised you weren't too pissed to record it again, but maybe I'm just like that.
actually whenever I do something stupid like that.. like just whenever I have to re make the video I do a new subject. so the video I originally wanted to make was on a completely different topic lol.. if I do the same thing it doesnt sound right.. I like to do it in 1 take and think it through as I go
Adoption is also not always an option, I know that many people would rather abort a very young fetus than raise it in a broken home or surrender it to the authorities.
Sometimes it isn't that simple. I know someone who had an abortion after she had protected sex (no, the condom didn't split, she was on the pill) and it was a 22 week abortion because she was jerked around by the health authorities (a registration problem).
Also you can't say that you wouldn't put yourself in a position where you wouldn't need one - what if you were raped?
Beyond the personal emotional toll that the woman will feel, there is nothing for anyone else to be concerned with. Every egg that you flush down the toilet once a month could have been a baby. "Abortion" may not be natural, but neither is using a bandage instead of waiting for your arm to form a scab. It's all body functions at the cellular level. A baby is a problem for some people (rape, abusive home), we do not assign moral responsibility to people who get chemo to kill cancer cells.
I'm for abortion because it is important for women to be the sole arbiter of this decision. Religious morality, ethics and conservative politics are damaging this because every pregnant woman is in a unique situation that only around familly can help a woman or girl to take the decision to abort.
It happens so much in the mind of a person in need (financial, emotional, professional). When a woman gets pregnant in these conditions ...
if you know people who have done it, you don't know it out of experience, you have hearsay.
Life is a bias prospective are you giving the dead prospective a fare hearing?
I agree people shouldn't consider an abortion as a form of birth control and sex education should be better.
But someone who is not ready or interested in raising a child shouldn't have one and although adoption of babies is in high demand that has an effect on adoption of older children.
There are certain tribal cultures where the men have the ability to pull out at the right time and don't get the women pregnant. They use the method all the time and are skilled at it. Too bad men or boys in this society are not skilled in this, mostly because half the time they are drunk. I've used this skill and have been having sex for 8 years. Its a skill that takes self control, which many people American society don't have .
You can still get a woman pregnant if you don't hmmm hmm in her hmmm hmmm. Didn't you take grade 6 sex ed? Oh wait you're probably American. Yeah in Canada we learn about how real things work in the real world. Yes I'm slagging your education system. What are you going do about it? ;)
Sorry. I'm sure it's not as bad as everyone says, but I could be wrong. Just poking fun. Our teen pregnancies are lower in Canada per person than in the States. Wonder if it's because of mandatory sex education in Canada (unless your parents write a note to the teacher).
"EditorPeter McCullagh1 and P J Saunders2 link the theoretical possibility that the fetus may feel pain (albeit much earlier than most embryologists and physiologists consider likely) with the procedure of legal abortion. Doctors for a Woman's Choice on Abortion consider this to be unhelpful to women"
well if we're so worried about helping women why don't we only abort males.... sometimes feminists make me sick
I already agreed on 2:32 that it shouldn't be a big issue, watched till the end though and I agree that by giving sex education in schools you tackle the whole issue early so that people can prevent them from even getting into the situation because having a abortion at a young age because it was a 'silly mistake' will probably have big effects for when you actually get a baby later. I'm just glad I'm a guy that never got in that situation and won't be.
Abortion as birth control is genocide of the unwanted children, reason being the unwanted become social misfits and a problem to society. Mandatory sterilization and abortion were once the law for the mentally unfit.Nazis went once step further and exterminated their lives.
I feel pretty much the same way you do. Abortion should be used in situations where it is necessary for the health and well being of the mother, not as birth control.
So the message that you'd send a 12 year old is that it's better to kill a baby than to give that child to a family that desperately wants one? (i.e. adoption)
Besides that, I believe you are speaking of the "well being" of the mother and not the health. I was wanting to know a health issue that would necessitate the ending of an unborn child's life.
@thereprieve Can a 12 year old deliver a baby without endangering her own health? That's where I was going with that, but yes I'm also talking about well being.
I think social media these days is upping the sex drive of teenagers these days. With ad's about being pretty, and sexy, and bs like that, I think teenagers find it difficult to not fit into the "social norm".
I think the sheer population of single mothers is pathetic. It's as if it's okay to get a girl pregnant and then leave. Girls 18-24, about 75% of the ones I've talked to have atleast one child.
Love the videos, and I enjoy the honest opinion of someone who isn't a bigot. Keep them up!
"other things"? Ear sex? Sorry Family Guy reference.
I do agree with you on why not put the baby up for adoption. But! What if the birth mother has second thoughts later on? Or what about the child that was given away resenting their birth Mother.
What if the mother has an abortion and regrets it later? I feel that is a worse consequence.. also I think the child would appreciate that the mother chose life over an abortion
yes that could happen.. but what I am saying is even if she regrets giving away the baby it is nothing like regretting killing your baby. My best guy friend and his girlfriend had an abortion (well she did, you know what I mean) and I will never forget seeing him cry for the first time telling me he could explain why he had to give up the baby, but he could never explain why he never gave it a chance for life. his gf tried to kill herself after that and ended up in a mental hospital. true story
its a flip cam.. I love it actually.. I just have no idea how to edit and am not used to it yet.. I am just happy you guys can hear me! is the sound quality a lot better?
Ya if the mom changes her mind when giving up the baby she can always keep it.. and she will be so grateful for not having an abortion.. I have never seen where a mom wished they had had an abortion instead of giving the baby up. never ever ever. but I have seen people who had an abortion and regret it and it destroyed their life
ya pretty much.. I was going to say pre cum.. I know so many people who rely on the pull out method.. I know so many people who had babies or had abortions and told me never to use this method..
hey. I appreciate your thoughtfulness... that said, I don't think you can tell people not to have sex. I mean, you have to let people make their own decisions... I think all you can really do is make them aware of the consequences/responsibilities and stuff... good points, though, especially in the last minute or so. haha.
I only suggest that if people really dont have access to birth control that maybe they shouldnt have sex. Or if they do get pregnant their only option would be abortion. I just feel like there are many other things that men and woman can do together that would not involve pregnancy.. Dont get me wrong nothing replaces sex.. but 16 year olds have unprotected sex is just stupid
even an insect does, and a fetus has a lot more brain power than that.
they DO experience pain.
everyone thinks im weird because im a pro life atheist but i say give them to an orphanage.
i am kind of ok with the morning after pill, but to have a medic reach into your uterus with a pair of plyers and rip the fetus apart limb from limb is barbaric, and they feel every bit
The fetus does not begin to develop the physiology of pain prior to week 26 which is when the cerebral cortex begins to develop. "Fetal Pain A Systematic Multidisciplinary Review of the Evidence", 2005, JAMA. The fetal brain is bathed in naturally occurring chemicals until after birth. "This fetal cocktail includes adenosine, which suppresses brain activity; pregnanolone, which relieves pain; and prostaglandin D2, which induces sleep", the First Ache, NYTimes, Feb 10, 2008.
You seem to be hitting the heart of your conscience with this question... I would attribute it to God, you and many others will not.
There's a reason you're on the fence with it... either way, to me... it's irresponsible, and it's killing a life. In the end, you may "think" you're saving it from existence... but you have no prophetic power to tell what it may grow into or not grow into... all you made was a choice, and you'll deal with those consequences in time.
I'm pro-choice. It's a woman's body and the law should not dictate what women can or cannot do. Every case is individual. Only a small number of women use the morning after pill as birth control. But still.... it's her choice. I agree though men are just as liable and should be careful too. Take care.
Anyways. I agree education is paramount. If people are informed and have the options available abortion won't even become an issue that often. When it does become an issue it should be a personal one.
I don't believe in the potential life argument. Just look at all the spontaneous abortions that occur in nature. Not to mention all sperm and eggs that are wasted over a life time. If every potential life was realized we'd be screwed.
ya... thats kinda what I meant about all prevention is potential life. I debate with myself.. Yes every time you use a condom that could be a potential life.. idk..
and thanks for the welcome back.. I have not even been on youtube at all it feels nice to be back and watching videos again too
I am wondering if you realize how damaging pregnancy is on a woman's body. A pregnancy actually takes fat from the brain which is why a woman is not considered at fault if she kills her child from post-pardom depression. I always use double protection with sex as I don't trust birth control because it requires human competence.
yes I know how damaging pregnancy is to a womans body.. believe me.. my sister was pregnant.. Like I say if you are going to have sex then you may just have to deal with the consequences. I think in certain situations abortion is ok.. but I wish people would be safer
Yeah, but even when people are safe accidents can occur. Condoms break, I know, and at 19 I was not ready to be a father and she was not ready to be a mother. Yes education should be the focus, but keep abortion legal.
@anubis2814 'A pregnancy actually takes fat from the brain' ? do you have a site for this 'fact'? Last that i remember, the brain is covered with Cerebral spinal fluid, not fat.
Well the morning after pill isnt exactly prevention, But As i understand it is basicly a high dose of birthcontrol, It can both prevent ovulation and prevent embryos from implanting
I think knowing this and other fact would be a part of sex education,no?
yes the morning after pill is a high dose of birth control. That is exactly what it is. it stops the woman from producing an egg.. like you said and it prevents a fertilized egg from implanting. But if the pill is taken too late the fertilized egg may still get implanted. it says specifically on the box only for emergencies. You were suggesting that this would help slow down abortions. I dont want woman using it like birth control.. some woman do.. and sometimes they GET PREGNANT.
First of all, I do agree that ofcourse one should try to protect oneself from pregnancy. If it is not something one want ofcourse :)
But to have a abortian is a basic human right.
What happens in the USA, where they protest outside abortianclinics and harass people. And even murder them... thats beyond insane. That would never happend in Sweden. Noone protesst outside our abortionclinics. We understand the tragic need they have in our society.
Hmm if I get this right, you hardly have any sexual education in the schools in USA?
Here in Sweden we have our first around the age of 12, and then more regular the next couple of years.
The law allow that at the age 15(or 16 I have forgotten ;) one can have a sexual relationship. So in or around of the 17-18 everyone has the complete knowledge of basic sex education, either through school or experience.
Hahaha I remember that I thought the classes was awkward. But on the outside I was like "Hey" I don´t care! I know everything already!" Which of course was a lie =) But being the "Bad Boy" in the class I had a reputation to think about, hahaha if anything that is awkward :)
I lost my virginity early, on my 15 birthday party hahahaha but that is another sad story hehehe :)
Nothing unusual with that, I know a bunch that still is virgins.
I guess I was kinda curious, and just wanted to be done with it. I had been lying to everyone that I already lost it when I like was 13 or something hahahaha kinda funny now when you think back :)
I DID have a couple of nice looking girls throw themselves at me in high school, no not all at once. To this day, I beat my head against a wall, "stupid! stupid! stupid!"
where I am from we have sex education starting off in middle school (so about 13) but then not again till maybe 17.. There is a big gap.. And parents dont talk to their kids about safe sex either. I just went to my doctor and got all the info. I lost my virginity not by choice when I was 15, that was my first encounter with plan B (morning after pill) after that I went through a bad stage where sex was meaningless.. but I chose to be safe.. now I choose to not have sex.
So, katie, that incident when you were 15 wasn't by choice. You didn't say it was rape, though - so, it was peer pressure, your partner lied, something similar? What if you'd gotten pregnant? The fact is, we aren't perfect and we do mess up. Also, women simply do not have as much control over our lives as men do. We still make 75 cents for every dollar men make (that figure has been going down); and non-middle class women have even less choice.
Nonsense! Women have grossly more control especially over reproductive rights.
If you get pregnant & your partner wants you to have an abortion and you don't- he has no say & is saddled w/ child support for at least 18 years.
If you get pregnant, want an abortion & your partner wants it, he is SOL.
The final say SHOULD be with the woman in question. However, a man should have the right to say "I don't want to be a father" & terminate all rights and responsibilities prebirth. = rights for all!
If you bring a child into this world, you have a responsibility to provide for it material support, whether or not you wish to be a father. The only way you can ensure that your partner won't bring a child into this world despite your wishes is to wear a condom.
I was raped.. and in this video I explain that that situation is ok to have an abortion... and also I do say in this video that woman make mistakes.. but there should be more emphasis on preventing it.. if a woman wants to have an abortion yes that is her choice.. I am debating if I feel it is morally wrong or not
I think most of us in the prochoice camp agree that there should be more emphasis on prevention. But the forces that want to "limit" abortion also want to limit sex education. I think that most reasonable people would agree that a fetus without a cerebral cortex is not a sentient being - not a person. Do you think it is morally wrong to abort before the cerebral cortex begins to develop at week 26? Only 1.4% happen after week 20.
There have been numerous studies of the effects of abortion on mental health. There is no reliable evidence that Post Abortion syndrome actually exists. You might want to check the Wikipedia page on Abortion and Mental Health. I feel more squeamish when I kill slugs in the garden or chickens for the table than I did when I had my abortion.
I don't mean to denigrate the tragedy; but, this one incident does not negate the numerous studies showing that post abortion regrets are in fact quite rare. The fact that a few women die in childbirth doesn't mean that we should ban childbirth. It just means we should encourage women to educate themselves about the risks before choosing to become pregnant. btw abortion is much, much safer than pregnancy.
My parents are open about sex, so we had some talk about it. Plus that I have 3 older sisters that talked also.
So I had fairly good idéa what it all was about. Well I thoughs so atleast :)
I´m sad to hear that you lost it not by choice. And inside I cringe what may have happend to you. I don´t know the tale, and that is yours to keep, if you so which.
Personally what I can remember, about my losing, was that I was angry first, I didn´t understand what the whole point about it. It was over fairly quick, as you can understand =)
I feel so let down, I had tough about that moment the last couple of years and it all was so meaningless. Then later with more practise did I understand what all the fuzz was about :D
I can understand why one choose celibacy. As long as anything makes you happy, why change? Thats my view on theist BTW. If your religion makes you happy, then keep it( not directed at you Katie, I know that you are a atheist ). I like being atheist so I keep being atheist.
Oddly enough even though my parents were not open about sex at all I have become very well educated... I guess maybe because I had to learn early on.. and I lost myself in the aftermath.. Sex was a meaningless act.. But I was still safe.
on the other hand some abortions are done under anesthesia which does affect the fetus, so you may feel relieved that you're killing something that it's not aware of it's demise.
to whoever thinks this makes it ok, then im glad i helped. on your way killing babies, ending human life.
Right I dont think Most anyone says abortions are good things.
And we all would like to reduce abortions.
So how do we do that?
Is that morning after pill a way to do this(i think so)
But many pro-lifers say this is still murder.
what do you think.
I guess these question make us question what it means to be human and have rights, so Yes definatly easy to see why there is so much emotional invesment here.
I told you. It messes up a womans body, big time, it is not very reliable, and after so many uses it wont work anymore. The morning after pill is EMERGENCY contraceptive, it is only in case the condom breaks or something like that... or even if a girl is raped, it is not birth control.
Well It is 'a' form of birth control and 'a' way to decrease abortions. I agree there are risks and benifits this applys to everything except abstainance.
Are you saying it should be made avablible or that we should be aware of it.
Isnt always better to know all options , risks benefits, Im not sugesting its use in lue of normal dose birth control but informing people that this exists can be very benefical in certain situations.
No one thinks abortions are good things.. the morning after pill is a back up.. it is not 100% effective, and after so many uses it doesnt work any more. It also really messes with a woman's body. the problem should be dealt with beforehand. There should be more education about sex out there. teenagers should be taught more then abstinance only practices.
5 yrs... that cant be a good thing.

@ 6:00 " Go to Planned Parenthood, it's free!"

What?!?
You mean that 6 month old baby kicking your tummy and causing you so much pain and so many cramps is not a life?!?

Well, you just said it right there @ 3:20
"This might be an unpopular video because alot of you are pro-choice."
Let's step back for a minute. Why would somebody dislike this video because you favor adoption first, instead of outright abortion?
Hmmm...could it be that that the "Pro-Choice" movement is really Pro-Death??
Is that why they would be upset?
Hmmm.....

Adoption is also not always an option, I know that many people would rather abort a very young fetus than raise it in a broken home or surrender it to the authorities.
AtheistBrit 2 years ago
Sometimes it isn't that simple. I know someone who had an abortion after she had protected sex (no, the condom didn't split, she was on the pill) and it was a 22 week abortion because she was jerked around by the health authorities (a registration problem).
Also you can't say that you wouldn't put yourself in a position where you wouldn't need one - what if you were raped?

hando88c 2 years ago
Beyond the personal emotional toll that the woman will feel, there is nothing for anyone else to be concerned with. Every egg that you flush down the toilet once a month could have been a baby. "Abortion" may not be natural, but neither is using a bandage instead of waiting for your arm to form a scab. It's all body functions at the cellular level. A baby is a problem for some people (rape, abusive home), we do not assign moral responsibility to people who get chemo to kill cancer cells.
limegreensquid 2 years ago 2

Reducing suffering > preserving life.

Its a skill that takes self control, which many people American society don't have .
mchertron 2 years ago
You can still get a woman pregnant if you don't hmmm hmm in her hmmm hmmm. Didn't you take grade 6 sex ed? Oh wait you're probably American. Yeah in Canada we learn about how real things work in the real world. Yes I'm slagging your education system. What are you going do about it? ;)

Sorry. I'm sure it's not as bad as everyone says, but I could be wrong. Just poking fun. Our teen pregnancies are lower in Canada per person than in the States. Wonder if it's because of mandatory sex education in Canada (unless your parents write a note to the teacher).

although some medical researchers claim that
"Raftery, S. (1997). General anaesthesia does not usually affect the fetus. BMJ 315: 488-488"

"EditorPeter McCullagh1 and P J Saunders2 link the theoretical possibility that the fetus may feel pain (albeit much earlier than most embryologists and physiologists consider likely) with the procedure of legal abortion. Doctors for a Woman's Choice on Abortion consider this to be unhelpful to women"
well if we're so worried about helping women why don't we only abort males.... sometimes feminists make me sick
mazdaplz 2 years ago
I already agreed on 2:32 that it shouldn't be a big issue, watched till the end though and I agree that by giving sex education in schools you tackle the whole issue early so that people can prevent them from even getting into the situation because having a abortion at a young age because it was a 'silly mistake' will probably have big effects for when you actually get a baby later. I'm just glad I'm a guy that never got in that situation and won't be.

Unless you want one.
Abortion as birth control is genocide of the unwanted children, reason being the unwanted become social misfits and a problem to society. Mandatory sterilization and abortion were once the law for the mentally unfit.Nazis went once step further and exterminated their lives.
joesmoexx 2 years ago
I feel pretty much the same way you do. Abortion should be used in situations where it is necessary for the health and well being of the mother, not as birth control.
Brianswers 2 years ago
When is it a health issue for the mother?
thereprieve 2 years ago
@thereprieve being pregnant at 12 due to rape comes to mind. I'm sure there are other situations
Brianswers 2 years ago
So the message that you'd send a 12 year old is that it's better to kill a baby than to give that child to a family that desperately wants one? (i.e. adoption)
Besides that, I believe you are speaking of the "well being" of the mother and not the health. I was wanting to know a health issue that would necessitate the ending of an unborn child's life.
thereprieve 2 years ago

But I agree with most of what you say.
bootergonemad 2 years ago
What if the mother has an abortion and regrets it later? I feel that is a worse consequence.. also I think the child would appreciate that the mother chose life over an abortion
katiefershadybaby 2 years ago
@katiefershadybaby
Sorry I meant if the birth mother had second thoughts when giving the child away for adoption.
bootergonemad 2 years ago
Like the woman gets pregnant. Decides on giving the baby away for adoption. Then she regrets the decision later on when its too late.
Also the child in question resenting his/her birth mother.
I hope that makes sense.
bootergonemad 2 years ago
yes that could happen.. but what I am saying is even if she regrets giving away the baby it is nothing like regretting killing your baby. My best guy friend and his girlfriend had an abortion (well she did, you know what I mean) and I will never forget seeing him cry for the first time telling me he could explain why he had to give up the baby, but he could never explain why he never gave it a chance for life. his gf tried to kill herself after that and ended up in a mental hospital. true story

AdderallApocalypse 2 years ago
I only suggest that if people really dont have access to birth control that maybe they shouldnt have sex. Or if they do get pregnant their only option would be abortion. I just feel like there are many other things that men and woman can do together that would not involve pregnancy.. Dont get me wrong nothing replaces sex.. but 16 year olds have unprotected sex is just stupid

"it doesn't experience pain"
hahahahahahaha whoever told you that?
of course the fetus experiences pain.
even an insect does, and a fetus has a lot more brain power than that.
they DO experience pain.
everyone thinks im weird because im a pro life atheist but i say give them to an orphanage.
i am kind of ok with the morning after pill, but to have a medic reach into your uterus with a pair of plyers and rip the fetus apart limb from limb is barbaric, and they feel every bit
mazdaplz 2 years ago

Take care.

Hye! Welcome back. Missed ya!

I am wondering if you realize how damaging pregnancy is on a woman's body. A pregnancy actually takes fat from the brain which is why a woman is not considered at fault if she kills her child from post-pardom depression. I always use double protection with sex as I don't trust birth control because it requires human competence.
anubis2814 2 years ago
yes I know how damaging pregnancy is to a womans body.. believe me.. my sister was pregnant.. Like I say if you are going to have sex then you may just have to deal with the consequences. I think in certain situations abortion is ok.. but I wish people would be safer
katiefershadybaby 2 years ago
@katiefershadybaby
Yeah, but even when people are safe accidents can occur. Condoms break, I know, and at 19 I was not ready to be a father and she was not ready to be a mother. Yes education should be the focus, but keep abortion legal.

Well the morning after pill isnt exactly prevention, But As i understand it is basicly a high dose of birthcontrol, It can both prevent ovulation and prevent embryos from implanting
I think knowing this and other fact would be a part of sex education,no?
gusb232 2 years ago
yes the morning after pill is a high dose of birth control. I dont want woman using it like birth control.. some woman do.. and sometimes they GET PREGNANT.
katiefershadybaby 2 years ago
First of all, I do agree that ofcourse one should try to protect oneself from pregnancy. If it is not something one want ofcourse :)
But to have a abortian is a basic human right.
What happens in the USA, where they protest outside abortianclinics and harass people. And even murder them... thats beyond insane. That would never happend in Sweden. Noone protesst outside our abortionclinics. We understand the tragic need they have in our society.
Mythification 2 years ago
I agree. I do not think that abortion should be illegal.. that is the one thing I am sure of
katiefershadybaby 2 years ago
Hmm if I get this right, you hardly have any sexual education in the schools in USA?
Here in Sweden we have our first around the age of 12, and then more regular the next couple of years.
The law allow that at the age 15(or 16 I have forgotten ;) one can have a sexual relationship. So in or around of the 17-18 everyone has the complete knowledge of basic sex education, either through school or experience.

where I am from we have sex education starting off in middle school (so about 13) but then not again till maybe 17.. There is a big gap.. And parents dont talk to their kids about safe sex either. I just went to my doctor and got all the info. I lost my virginity not by choice when I was 15, that was my first encounter with plan B (morning after pill) after that I went through a bad stage where sex was meaningless.. but I chose to be safe.. now I choose to not have sex.
katiefershadybaby 2 years ago
So, katie, that incident when you were 15 wasn't by choice. You didn't say it was rape, though - so, it was peer pressure, your partner lied, something similar? What if you'd gotten pregnant? The fact is, we aren't perfect and we do mess up. Also, women simply do not have as much control over our lives as men do. We still make 75 cents for every dollar men make (that figure has been going down); and non-middle class women have even less choice.
pirbird14 2 years ago
PoppaBahr 2 years ago
Poppa
If you bring a child into this world, you have a responsibility to provide for it material support, whether or not you wish to be a father. The only way you can ensure that your partner won't bring a child into this world despite your wishes is to wear a condom.
pirbird14 2 years ago
Legally you are right.
Ethically you are not.
If you think that abortion should be legal (I do), then you support the right of some to terminate their parental rights & responsibilities prebirth.
To say that a woman should have this choice but a man should not is at best logically inconsistent & at worst horribly sexist.
I'll say it again - Equal Rights for ALL!!
As for condoms, they break. The one "scare" I had as a young man was with a partner with which I ALWAYS used condoms.
PoppaBahr 2 years ago
I was raped.. and in this video I explain that that situation is ok to have an abortion... and also I do say in this video that woman make mistakes.. but there should be more emphasis on preventing it.. if a woman wants to have an abortion yes that is her choice.. I am debating if I feel it is morally wrong or not
katiefershadybaby 2 years ago

I did not. but he did end up in prison. As far as I know he is still there
katiefershadybaby 2 years ago
My apologies for opening old wounds.
Only 1.4% happen after week 20.
pirbird14 2 years ago

There have been numerous studies of the effects of abortion on mental health. There is no reliable evidence that Post Abortion syndrome actually exists. You might want to check the Wikipedia page on Abortion and Mental Health. I feel more squeamish when I kill slugs in the garden or chickens for the table than I did when I had my abortion.
pirbird14 2 years ago

katiefershadybaby 2 years ago

I don't mean to denigrate the tragedy; but, this one incident does not negate the numerous studies showing that post abortion regrets are in fact quite rare. The fact that a few women die in childbirth doesn't mean that we should ban childbirth. It just means we should encourage women to educate themselves about the risks before choosing to become pregnant. btw abortion is much, much safer than pregnancy.

on the other hand some abortions are done under anesthesia which does affect the fetus, so you may feel relieved that you're killing something that it's not aware of it's demise.

I told you. It messes up a womans body, big time, it is not very reliable, and after so many uses it wont work anymore. The morning after pill is EMERGENCY contraceptive, it is only in case the condom breaks or something like that... or even if a girl is raped, it is not birth control.
katiefershadybaby 2 years ago
Well It is 'a' form of birth control and 'a' way to decrease abortions. I agree there are risks and benifits this applys to everything except abstainance.
Are you saying it should be made avablible or that we should be aware of it.
Isnt always better to know all options , risks benefits, Im not sugesting its use in lue of normal dose birth control but informing people that this exists can be very benefical in certain situations.
gusb232 2 years ago
No one thinks abortions are good things.. the morning after pill is a back up.. it is not 100% effective, and after so many uses it doesnt work any more. It also really messes with a woman's body. the problem should be dealt with beforehand. There should be more education about sex out there. teenagers should be taught more then abstinance only practices.
