@Noffy1111 This all took place back in the first century. Look at Mark 13: 1,2. He is talking about the destruction of Jerusalem, and the temple which represents the first covenant. Study what the clouds represent, it's symbolism is used throughout the bible. Verse 30, and this is Jesus talking to his disciples who had just asked him about this: "I tell you the truth, THIS GENERATION will certainly not pass away until ALL these things have happened."
Watch out! I am not prophesying(do not believe in it) but this is a type of sense or gut feeling where I think Either McLaren or Compolo will fall in ministry and will see emergent chrch morph to something else to capture more! John was released from Patmos upon the death of Domitian in 96 AD.
John lived to be 99 or 100.
The earliest church fathers all state that it was the apostle John on Patmos.

@Noffy1111 Saying God is going to 'rapture' you out from persecution is a slap in the face to the real Christians who went through persecution, torture, and murders at the hands of the Romans and then the church. We will one day stand before these people. How will you feel when you tell them how God will rescue them into the sky before the persecution? Pick up Foxes Book of Martyr's, and read about some of them.

FACT 1 Rev 4:4 They redeemed have crowns (rewards) and a physical body to wear them and the white robes.
FACT 2 Rev 5:9 are the REDEEMED of Luke 21:28
Fact 3 They are in heaven BEFORE the breaking of the 1st seal by Christ.
What on earth do you think 1 Cor 15:50-55 and 1 Thes 4:13-18 is talking about? It is when the dead and the living receive their new bodies (REDEEMED)!

@Noffy1111 This all took place back in the first century. Look at Mark 13: 1,2. He is talking about the destruction of Jerusalem, and the temple which represents the first covenant. Study what the clouds represent, it's symbolism is used throughout the bible. Verse 30, and this is Jesus talking to his disciples who had just asked him about this: "I tell you the truth, THIS GENERATION will certainly not pass away until ALL these things have happened."

70 Fall of Jerusalem.
95 AD John received divine Revelation from CHRIST on the island of Patmos and wrote the Book of Revelation 25 years after the fall of Jerusalem.
It is clear this book was meant for THIS generation. Oh and by the way. John is the last apostle and He say the future now wasn't He?

Watch out! I am not prophesying(do not believe in it) but this is a type of sense or gut feeling where I think Either McLaren or Compolo will fall in ministry and will see emergent chrch morph to something else to capture more! As I said-just a gut feeling of where much of this is going and use whomever fell and keep scapegoating that person.
