No Horn... because of the audible message that says "Train Approaching, Please Stand Behind The Yellow Line". A man in Mansfield, MA made a big deal about the trains blowing the horn so, the rules have been changed. IMHO, you shouldn't live next to an Air Port if you don't like the sounds of Air Planes flying over head.
Yeah except sometimes an amtrak will come through a station just before a commuter train is suppose to, so I think they should blow to warn people that its not the commuter rail, and they're going at a high rate of speed, and further more, some of the stations along here are on curves, so if a person is playing around, they wont have time to move out of the way
I agree! The man in Mansfield, complained that the system was redundant. Re: the audible message and the horn blowing to warn people of an approaching train. So, the train has been relieved of being REQUIRED to blow the horn but that doesn't mean the Engineer can't blow the at his/her discretion. What ever is safe is the best way to go. Nobody deserves to NOT make it home at the end of the day.
I know! Plus there were about 15 people on the platform because there is a commuter that comes 7 mins after this train comes through, and since there is snow, it would make since to warn the people on the platform to stand back!
@NVRambo as if that was relevant for a well-working high speed transit system

I am sure he would be the first one to sue if he got hurt due to the train not blowing the horn.
