I did this operation and it took from start to finish 15 min. I used a dremmel and some car buffing compound and I made the sear so it was hard to hang on to. The trigger is about 70% better.
Also, I called Bolsa Gunsmithing (another S&W Authorized Service Center) which happens to be 4 miles from where I live in So. Cal. They said they charged $65 for a "trigger job" on a Sigma with a 2 week turnaround time. I brought up Frank and they said they heard that he and S&W was doing them under warranty.
So, I called S&W Factory - they said, "NO WAY" is an "action job" covered under warranty! And IF Frank is doing them as a warranty repair, then we may have to have a talk with him!
FYI, regarding Frank Smith, the Texas S&W Authorized Factory Center Gunsmith doing the trigger clean-up jobs. As of TODAY, 11/13/09, he IS NOT doing them! Apparently, some KNUCKLEHEAD posted the S&W FEDEX account number (they paid for shipping) on some gun forums and they had to shut down the account! He said today that it would be approx 2 weeks until he has the new account info. He is UNSURE if he can continue doing what he's been doing due to this!
Hi Jeff. I'm James - just subed. I had 2, 9mm Sigmas. One was the pre-litigation - One was the post-litigation. Sold the pre and still have the post. My gunsmith refused to do a trigger job for me. I guess he felt it was "beneath" him to work on such a "gun". Anyway, I'd really like to be able to do some or most of the work myself and to indeed turn it into a silk purse. I greatly appreciate your videos and would likewise appreciate your help if you would. Sincerely,d JAMES.
I don't know how much help I can be over the net. I do know S & W is willing and ready to help you. Many have called S & W and shipped there pistol's to a service center in Texas that does a pretty good job on them. Once that is done you can fine tune your self.
Hi Jeff. Well today I took out the "pigly wigly" spring and tried it out using snap caps and I really did not notice much of a difference. Not being a gunsmith and reluctant to mess something up I stopped there. I would like to do at least what you have done to your sigma. That is why I was hoping you could maybe do a step by step video with all the springs that have been replaced and what was smoothed where. I will look at Wolff to see what sprngs they have. Thx.JAMES.

It looks as though someone really screwed things up for Sigma owners wanting to get a FREE "factory trigger job"!
PLEASE READ MY PREVIOUS POSTS starting at the bottom going up, as I ran out of characters due to the character post limit!
