  • i like the quiver and i have 2 wooden recurve bows

  • whistling bill...

  • He needs to find a better dentist....dentures cause this and then you getovercharged for them,...

  • Lynch??? Is that you???

  • I like the longbow he showed. I don't believe it is yew longbow but looks nice.Very interesting video. Also i prefere wooden arrows...And someone noticed ''whistling'' of this oldie while he says ''S'', for my (serbian) ear it sounds quite interesting:-)

  • lol...everytime when he says an "s" word he whistles??

  • u need to try some enlish longbows.

  • hard to find in the US. One day I hope to import one though. However it's actually more traditional for us yanks to shoot flatbows though because they have more historical ties with the flatbows used by the Native Americans. Of course, what archer hasn't wanted to shoot a D yew bow?

  • you can get over 150 lbs plus on English longbows

  • Do you have any videos of a whistling arrow being shot?

  • how do you make a whistle arrow

  • GOOGLE it :P

  • I have a longbow and im wondering, plastic feathers or real feathers for the vanes. Btw Cedar or aluminum for shafts.

  • Hi, you need feathers, never use plastic vanes they don't work on long bows.

Cedar is best but you can use either.

I'd advice making your own, it's easy when you get into it and saves money.

Get a fletch and you can buy the feathers and the rest on e bay.

    good luck.

  • what are you talking about? plastic vanes work the same as feathers any day of the week they both do the same job buddy

  • plastic vanes only work with an arrow rest. with a longbow, you only have a shelf, and you need feathers. main disadvantage of feathers is that they're not as rugged, and they don't work well when they're wet.

  • I have three longbows and I happen to know that plastic vanes work just as well my man

  • They have different qualities. If you are shooting a longbow or recurve off the shelf, you want feathers because they are more forgiving if they contact the shelf on the arrows way out. Vanes are stiffer. If you shoot an elevated rest however, you can use either. Some people also just prefer the look of feathers. Many things in archery are just preference. If you are shooting off the knuckle however, definitely use feathers.

  • Yeah definitely get feathers unless you are shooting a recurve with an elevated rest, then you can use either. Vanes are a tad cheaper. As for cedar or aluminum, it really is up to you. Many people use both. Some people say wood arrows are cheaper but from what I've seen, cedar arrows that are as consistent as aluminums are quite expensive. Of course they are pretty though. If you're just starting out, building your own arrows is not economical until later. My advice, aluminums with feathers.

  • Do you also hate to whizzle but love to shoot a longbow? Buy the brand new WHIZZLING ARROW!! All you have to do it shoot it off and it will do the whizzling.

Sorry i just dont get it.

  • Haha Ole Bill rocks ;D

  • thanks for the video!

  • The form could've been much better. Not holding at a consistent anchor point, and not a smooth release

  • lol the old guy whistles every time he says something ending with S. lolololol and when he says "This is a whistling arrow" he whistles lol and by the way you should let the kids go first. that's what we do to keep the kids liking to do it

  • hehe yah hes a good ole guy. Yes normally we do let the kids shoot right along with us but the lil guy ..my son ...opted to go and play and a friends house and then come back later to expect to jump right in. It was my way of telling him that he missed his opportunity...we shoot enough he has plenty of chances. The kids need to hear NO know and then to appreciate the times we say yes or they take it for granted..Thats' my story and I am sticking to it! :0)

  • Lol, i love the random discussion about katanas in the background

  • any compounds??????

  • Probably not because compounds are not traditional bows.

  • any compounds??????

  • those are flat bows or ALB's not "typical longbows"

  • To the rest of the world, yes, to America, no. I know, it's retarded, same kind of thing as soccer. Get over it, please.

  • Recurves <3

  • Nice vid.

  • I liked the video until the archer told the kid the adults were shooting first and he had to wait. The guys I shoot with have the kids go first. Kind of a tradition to help keep archery going in the next generation.
