Probably because Vista is the most easily available, and probably because the maker of this video prefers Vista? I use both myself...XP for older programs, and Vista for screwing around in.

Leopard will run correctly on a PC, hacked of course and its not legal but it can be done, I have a Toshiba Satellite that runs/boots Tiger very well. OSX doesnt emulate Windows.. Boot camp allows for an installation to share the hard drive and run it at real time, not an emulation commonly seen with VMware Fusion and other apps of that nature.
hoosier, yes, it is hacked. Yeah, that's what I said in the comments before. Exactly. It's not even worth running on a PC, and also Apple only gears its drivers for its own hardware library. If that PC has a video card or anything else that does not fall into the Apple hardware library, you will have amazing problems and not even get the full performance out of OS X.
Thats the funny thing with the new intel chipsets, It WILL work just fine and it does. the only real differences between Regular PCs and Apples anymore is the O/S they all use the same vid cards and other hardware, though there are exceptions.. You say its not worth running.. but in fact it is.. and its a helluva lot cheaper than buying a yuppie box from Steve Jobs.
hoosier, that's not true. The Apple computers use the EFI chip in their systems - BIOS- and no PC laptop has it. OS X will not run on a PC platform the way it runs on an Apple platform. Google it. I'm not telling you something that's not true.

hoosier, I'd get the 2.4GHZ Macbook Pro and save yourself some money. I mean, the 256 megs of RAM does me fine with games. I've never had it slow down. The 512 is nice, but it's overkill in most instances. Unless you're gonna be playing Crysis every day of your life via Windows XP and BootCamp, save yourself the money. Never buy the top end processor. 2.4GHZ is plenty. That's the one I have. Trust me. Save yourself some bucks.
I will as a matter of fact be playing Crysis in windows, and I'll be using the computer for school, i'm majoring in photography and computer graphics, so the higher processor makes more sense.. If I were going to sacrifice any performance id simply not spend the $150 on teh 2.5 to 2.6 upgrade. On a side note, a good friend on mine is getting me a corporate discount with Apple.. otherwise I wouldn't be buying one to begin with.
Appreciated though.. If I were going to buy a computer flat out by myself.. id probably be buying a high end PC laptop, reformatting it, fresh clean install of Vista Ultimate with Triple boot to XP and OSX Leopard lol..
Well, I'm glad you're ending up buying a real computer instead of a freaking PC laptop. That's highway robbery. OS X and LINUX flavors are far better operating systems than XP and Vista. PCs can't even run OS X correctly. Takes hacks. You're lucky to be getting an Apple computer.
Apple is a company based around the idea that if you don't know how to use a computer buy one of theirs. They're also in existence thanks to Microsoft Corp. saving their ass back when they needed money. I'm a firm believer in PCs and Windows.. Apple is just a different flavor, a very overpriced, overhyped flavor but required for the field I'd like to enter.
hoosier, that's not true. Apple computers blow the PC away. There is no reason to buy a PC, when you have to submit to the whims of Microsoft. Apple allows you to run any software, and they don't force you to use their Safari browser. Even I use Firefox. Microsoft says you can run other browsers, but then their own applications - when loading a link - will boot up IE and no other browser. Windows and PCs suck butt. I've been int he business over 20+ years. Apple is the best.
Thats great and all, but lets start looking at benchmarks. There isn't a damn thing you can do on an Apple that you can't do on a PC anymore. Thats a fact. I don't really care how long you've been in the business.

I was running them with and nothing else. Your calculations are wrong. Each OS takes UNDER 500mb. They Adjust to the available amount of ram.

There is also archaelogical evidence debunking the bible's myths. I never said they weren't real.. but they are interpretations, that is a fact. Great exaggeration is a storyteller's best tool.

There is no evidence debunking the Bible. I don't know who told you that, but it's not true. The Bible has never been debunked archaeologically. Also, if you're referring to carbon dating, it's dated on five or so assumptions that must be truth to truly date something accurately. They dated a freshly dead seal at 20,000 something years old. Man, don't trust in man. Trust in God. Man will fail. God never will.

Gay marriage? Of course not. It's unnatural. Adam and Steve were not made to procreate. Adam and Eve were. Anyone can look at nature and realize that. Two males can't produce. It's pretty much common sense, but sin has led the world into outlandish assumptions about how to live life.

The only way to wash away one's sins is through Jesus Christ. He took our curse of sin upon Himself, and all one has to do to be saved in Christ is to ask Him into our heart as Lord and Savior, repent for our sins and let Him know we are sinners. We must humble ourselves before the Lord and then go get baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. It's very simple, but one must come to the Lord in their heart.

We were on Bulletin board systems before the internet ever came into being. We started it all in its primitive form, and plus we had real computer clubs and we made real friends. We hacked without legal consequences, and we even saved the Russian from Chernobyl with our computers. Ya'll don't know anything about freedom. hoosier, I'd get the 2.4GHZ Macbook Pro and save yourself some money. I mean, the 256 megs of RAM does me fine with games. I've never had it slow down. The 512 is nice, but it's overkill in most instances. Unless you're gonna be playing Crysis every day of your life via Windows XP and BootCamp, save yourself the money. Never buy the top end processor. 2.4GHZ is plenty. That's the one I have. Trust me. Save yourself some bucks.

I will as a matter of fact be playing Crysis in windows, and I'll be using the computer for school, i'm majoring in photography and computer graphics, so the higher processor makes more sense.. If I were going to sacrifice any performance id simply not spend the $150 on teh 2.5 to 2.6 upgrade. On a side note, a good friend on mine is getting me a corporate discount with Apple.. otherwise I wouldn't be buying one to begin with.

Yeah, I have 4 gigs of RAm in mine, too. It's well worth it. Faster rendering for movies and all. Never run out of RAM. :)

Well, I'm glad you're ending up buying a real computer instead of a freaking PC laptop. That's highway robbery. OS X and LINUX flavors are far better operating systems than XP and Vista. PCs can't even run OS X correctly. Takes hacks. You're lucky to be getting an Apple computer.

Apple is a company based around the idea that if you don't know how to use a computer buy one of theirs. They're also in existence thanks to Microsoft Corp. saving their ass back when they needed money. I'm a firm believer in PCs and Windows.. Apple is just a different flavor, a very overpriced, overhyped flavor but required for the field I'd like to enter.

hoosier, that's not true. Apple computers blow the PC away. There is no reason to buy a PC, when you have to submit to the whims of Microsoft. Apple allows you to run any software, and they don't force you to use their Safari browser. Even I use Firefox. Microsoft says you can run other browsers, but then their own applications - when loading a link - will boot up IE and no other browser. Windows and PCs suck butt. I've been int he business over 20+ years. Apple is the best.
