  • you can built the fastest EV and this is what you sell to us >>> P R I U S

  • that's an avg speed of around 175kmh O.o

  • so they took a Radical SR8 and made it a full minute slower? why is this getting praise?

  • silence is the sound of pure power

  • Is this the same car that FuriousPete rode in?

  • this is scary...it's so quiet that you can hear the tires being ribbed off as the driver turned in.

  • That has to be the most depressing sound ever.

  • Looks too much like the SR8 Radical....

  • @philonetic because it is one... modified by TMG.

  • @mobyfab Well I did not know that, how much cooler can it be eh? I love that noise.

  • which the maximum speed mph?

  • They can always get the thrill back with 10kW amp and loudspeakers.

  • I watched the footage. Check the 4:40 timeframe; looks like poor form on "The Carousel". Most people enter on third "patch" and stay on the white & black paint, but he stayed almost completely out. Very odd.....

  • @teddybgame1973 It's possible that it has ground clearance issues, F1 cars can't use the Carousel anymore either.

  • Cool steering wheel and is the wind shield crystal clear or what? (or what)

  • Radical's beaten another record. Now with Toyota electric engine. Great!

It's Radical SR3 RS with Toyota engine.

  • @MrSlonya SR8, not SR3

  • I luv driving "The Ring!" Great video of Toyota's new electric rocket. Thanks for sharing.

  • I luv driving "The Ring!" Great video of Toyota's new electric rocket. Thanks for sharing.

  • こんな加速を味わったらもうガソリン車には戻れねーだろ

  • Noob... could go so much faster

  • Also 7min. 47 sec is an awesome lap time for the 'ring' I play Forza Motor sport 3 (coz I cant afford the money to race for real) and we racr on Nurbugring and yeah I am only doing about 7min 59 sec in A class atm

  • I found the sound pretty awesome. I am really looking forward to electric cars someday going up against I.C.E. type Enginesin Touring car Championships. In fact I look forward to them going head to head in every type of motor racing there is. Drag, Rally, even Motor Cycle racing. Just coz it doesnt make a bucket load of loud noise doesnt mean it would not be a crazy experience to drive. Its just a mattter of us getting used to these kinds of noises. The whining is no doubt differential noise.

  • Pt2 I think its amazing the things you Can hear no that there is no noisy engine over powering all the other sounds. Like Wind noise, Tyre noise and gear noise, i.e. the Differential. Unless maybe they are twin Engine models with 1 motor for each rear wheel. Then they wont need a diff. If it was an all wheel drive they would need 2 Diffs, and a power transfer case unless there where maybe 4 motors, or even 2 motor arranged 1 front, 1 rear and a diff or something to dive power to Left & Right

  • Part 3, I think Possibility's are endless using electric motors. I wonder if we will have electric brakes soon. lol. Using electromagnetic resistance to stop a car, thus eliminating the need for brake pads that over heat and / or wear out. I am so excited as to what the future of Motor Racing holds. the problem is Parts manufactures of ICE based cars will prolly do everything they can to reduce or eliminate the proliferation of the Electric Car :(

  • @SupercellKid

There is no problem with the internal combustion engine. The problem is with gasoline. Run them on ethanol, and life is good... you can get that from any plant with sugar in it. And, it's a renewable resource.

  • @Moore183HD its using two electric "MOTORS". you idiot.

  • In the first turns it sounded almost like a mario kart :-)

  • wow, that's got to be an amazing experience: to go that fast with little more sound than the wind is making as you blast through it. thats probly what it feels like to run like flash

  • DAMN! what kind of batteries does that thing have? i'd like some for my lapotop, theyd probly last like a month

  • As the holder of the track record for an EV at Infinion ( Sears Point), my hat is off to the driver in this beast. Wicked understeer, but he pushed her pretty hard just the same. Well done man!

  • Awesome!. But its a shame the live speedo meter is not included as I would love to see the actual speed on some straights and some turns. The best video I had of the ring was Joaquin Hans-Stuck's M3GTR round doing something like 7.45 on that excellent sequential 7 speed shifter. Also the awesome M5 engine whine was just captivating on the long straights.

  • @fteoOpty64 On my video of Derek Bell doing a lap in mid-1980s (the original old circuit) in the Rothmans-Porsche 956, he was hitting around 170-175 mph on the long straight and approx. 140 in the turns. I'd imagine this Toyota was at similar speed.

  • anyone waiting for the change up on exits

  • Ooooo! How exciting is an F-1 start going to be? Racing should be left as it is and use this technology for public transportation and personal!

  • crap driver didnt even hit the carousel apex

  • I play to much gt5....i practally know every turn.

  • @ces2391 knowing the turns doesnt make you a nordschleife specialist

  • how fast is she going 150......

  • @themrjones apparently top speed is 160mph

Did it in a time of seven minutes 47.79 seconds markedly lowers the previous all-electric record set by the Peugeot EX1 earlier in the year (9:01min)

The TMG EV P001 is based on a modified Radical chassis that uses two electric motors to achieve a top speed of 260km/h (160mph) with 800Nm of torque.

  • I'm not surprised it broke the record, when you consider it's nearest contender is the G-Wiz! :-D

  • Amazing technical achievement. Utterly soulless.

  • @plonk7 Millions of deaf drivers would not necessarily agree with you. :¬)

  • its a mad car...

  • 17 girlfriends saw this video.

  • the steering wheel is based on Toyota F1 car

  • this totally fake.. capture from forza 4.

  • @stfunewbiez

    i hope you're joking..

  • is this pc , looks like forza 4

  • If the battery was almost flat after this lap?

  • Whooo nascar

  • First Nissan, now Toyota. Car manufacturers are racing everything from gasoline powered vehicles to electric. God I love racing !

  • holy shit...gasoline engines days are numbered.

  • The East Coast Electric Drag Racing Association congratulates Team Toyota!

  • Accelarates really fast

    ..

  • Way to go Toyota! How about a Sports EV along the lines of the IS350?

  • Finally, a non douchey prius!

  • just love how you can hear the tires scream

  • awesome & very fast....and wondering if there is any sort of engine braking at all or its just your brakes saving you from the scenery?

sound.....well, a jet engine is not too different actually and i bet none of you said that's a wimpy engine. ( me too... :P )

  • Can I take it for a ride?!?!?!? :D

  • I understand that for ICE-based motor sport fans the loss of engine noise detracts from their enjoyment. However, for me it is very interesting hearing how the second most important aspect of the whole racing thing, from an engineering perspective, ie the tyre/road interface, is totally brought to life because you can really hear it... because there is NO ICE engine noise. I guess all race cars are driven thus - a surprise to me as I'm only used to hearing these noises just before crashing!

  • Sounds like they combined wheels with tuned electric-shavers...

  • Quiet

  • lol I have a lot of idea from previous comment.

  • The technology exists... sadly we'll never see it because the oil industry will do everything to stop it. It's sad really. Why are polluting the planet when we really don't have to.

  • @redsquirrelftw Oil is finite. Production has peaked and we are being forced to change right now. You may not see it because it is happening so slowly but changes are happening. Now if we can only keep the oil companies from ruining the future of the BEV with their proposed "hydrogen economy", then we should be good to go.

  • Caroussel on the outside, no gearbox to play with, wind louder than engine noise.. Damn it, is it a Nürburgring lap or a gay parade?

  • Everybody talks about how "Green" electric cars are, but what about the by products of making and then disposing of the battery used in the car in the first place? No one ever talks about that part do they? Let's get more shit plugged in to an outdated electric grid that should help the situation. How about stop breeding that would cut down on emmisions and stupidity quite a bit I would think (hope).

  • @TheKidSubaru, batteries in electric vehicles are similar to those in fuel powered ones, in that they have a higher recycle rate than any other items used in building a motor vehicle. Most electric vehicle operators charge at night, when the grid has an excess of power, most of which is thrown away as waste heat if not used. "No one ever talks about that part?" Sure, it's a common topic raised by people who know little of electric vehicles.

  • @TheKidSubaru Batteries are recyclable period, also electric cars don't use normal lead acid batteries (they are indeed nasty) they use lithium-ion batteries just like your cellphone or laptop, by the way lithium is a metal for the ones that don't know, this type of batteries are much cleaner and safer them lead acid batteries.

  • All this car is, is a radical with an electric engine in it. Not surprised it was this fast.

  • i did not blink this whole time

  • That would be funny if this was the Gran Turismo 6 trailer

  • why i cant unmute this video?

  • Stop buying Lolyotas! They will be desperately trying to kill motorsports after they killed our streets with these cars without soul !

  • is this the record for a toyota powered electric vehicle or for any electric vehicle fullstop

  • It's the e-Wolf Alpha SRF-1 you see here. Built by e-Wolf in cooperation with TMG. Fully charged it takes under 8h at 230V. Just impressive!!

  • Official record still belongs to Stefan Bellof, with a Porsche 956 (Group C) in 1983 he drove 6:25.91 ... damn very fast.

  • @amerdadavelha R.I.P Stefan Bellof. Great driver, World Sportscar Champion. Sadly killed at Spa.

  • I am not impressed :\

  • I want that motor, and thoughs batterys.

  • worst Nordschleife lap i have ever seen it will be boring watching races with only tire noise i hope it will never happen

  • turns just like cars in video games.

  • the car is powered by the drivers balls of steel

  • Whach at 7:12 how he looks down, I woulda wet myself too

  • just realized how boring this shit is without go pro cameras...

  • Tesla, take notes.

  • @emal510 Actually, toyota is using the technology from tesla when it comes to their electrical engines. It was part of the agreement made when Toyota invested 50 million dollars in tesla last year. This prototype racing must be heavily modified, but the concept is still Tesla technology.

  • @maximusben1

    no, this is not teslatechnology.

The TMG EV P001 is based on a Radical chassis as modified by TMG for e-WOLF. you can read it at toyota - motorsport com

  • was this filmed using a GoPro camera?

  • It's like my girlfriend... so fucking badass to ride but wtf is up with the eternal whining. STFU already.

  • @instantsiv lmfao... best comment on YT in a long time... classic :)

  • What's this type of transmission? semi-automatic?

  • @nattapolcha its an electric car... there are no speed shifting.. it's 1 speed

  • @nattapolcha no transmission, it's electric so direct drive.

  • forza did the best job of making this map into a videogame

  • lol silly question, does that only have one gear?

  • @J450NB3CK3R most likely yes.

  • @J450NB3CK3R yes. electric motors produce the same torque no matter how many rpm they are doing, so dont need gears.

  • Comment removed

  • Its amazing how recognizable this is to me just because of Gran Turismo 5, it's like I know every turn of Nurburgring

  • Kick Ass

  • How strong is this guy? Look at how much the wheel is fighting him.

  • @MicRevive No power steering. its not fighting him. it gets lighter as he loses traction. The reason it moves is him correcting

  • THESE ARE REAL GRAPHICS!!

  • someone took out the real sound and replaced it with a modest winning bitch.

  • IMAGINE THAT YOUR PLAYING FORZA OR GRANDTURIZMO !!!YEAH BUDDY!!!

  • SIIIIIICK!

  • WOW! O.o"

  • better qaulity on gt5!

  • if you like VIDEO OF THE NURBURGRING you will like TOP 30 UNIQUE VIDEOS

  • thats one powerful sounding engine

  • The car then spent the next 60 days on charge

  • @hyfcmvp A electric car can now be charged under 1 hour, and even a old charger only takes 8 hours to charge a car so you and the 50 people that voted your comment up are morons.

  • @Argoon1981 Im assuming from your name that youre 30, if so, you should have learned how to take a joke.. Im 99.9% sure whoever thumbed up realised that aswell. Good day

  • @hyfcmvp I know it was a joke but there's to much people using "the charge time" argument to disprove electric cars, if was not for that i would have laugh has well (or maybe not :P), but unfortunately that joke can be taken very seriously by uninformed people, trying to learn more about electric cars.

And thanks good day to you to.

  • @hyfcmvp - Right... because we wouldn't want people to start thinking that EVs are practical or useful. How else could we justify our endless quest to foul our nest with gasoline? Man, you see an accomplishment like this, and all you can think of us how to minimize it with baseless maligning? Or was that trying to be funny?

  • @darelldd There aren't enough attemptedly condecending words here for me to bother replying in a manner other than, you mad bro?

  • @hyfcmvp - not mad. I just hate to see stuff posted that does nothing but propagate tired myths about EVs. I'm not trying to be condescending (was that your point?) I'm just trying to figure out if you thought the comment was funny??

  • @hyfcmvp That's not quite as futile as 22 grown men kicking a round ball around a grass pitch for 90 minutes.

  • @tsport100 Lol take a joke. And I can very smugly state that from doing said 'futile' sport that I make more in a week than you do in a year. Dont be mad.. Got nothing against electrical cars so no idea why you've piped up

  • @hyfcmvp Who can't take a joke??? LOL kids game!

  • fastest barbie car i ever saw...

  • Music over car videos is gonna start making sense with electric cars.

  • Humans hate changing things. So they hate EV's.

  • @kriss2005 That's right all the complaints i hear is "They have no sound!", "They don't sound like x ice engine", "They take take time to charge", "They have little range.", etc. All this comments were legit if they weren't repeated to no end, even when we know they do have a characteristic sound, you can even make they sound has a ice engine if you want, you can charge a e-car under 1 hour now with some charges, and a guy was able to drive a Tesla roadster 1000 miles or something in one charge.

  • I LIKE PETROLL... GASOLINA POWERR GTI RULEZ :D

  • Love watching a good lap at the Nordschleife. Hope i can have a go some day

  • Boring as hell.

As I said in the video with a Ferrari V12 F1 engine: to the hell with green tech, we need more V8, V10 and V12!!

    Green tech will kill motorsport!

  • @Willbrse if more effort was put into researching batteries(more like the 500bn dollars spend by USA in blowing guys up who just had turbans and sticks with stealth weapons.. (why are they hiding from them in the first place??)) then electric cars would far exceed normal cars.. thats because they have instant torque and only one moving mart making them theoretically much faster, better, durable than gasoline engines can ever achiece

  • @superchiller123chill If you read again what I said, and now paying attention, you'll see that I DON'T CARE ABOUT GREEN TECH CRAP! combustion engines are much more fun, specialy on race tracks.

Nature is doomed anyway. We better try to save the humanity.

Plus, the "green cars" aren't so green as people think lol

  • @Willbrse How will you save humanity without saving nature? Aren't you part of nature? You breed O2 trees gives us O2 we expire CO2 trees breed CO2 that is a poison to us, we need them and them need all of us. We need nature to live and this world is the only one that we know about with the characteristics for life so if we don't want to go the way of the dinosaur, we better stop being selfish and think in ways to preserve it.

  • @Argoon1981 Everything is going to an end. I'll say it just once: Nature is doomed, but the humanity has salvation and the salvation is Jesus. When you save the humanity, something will be done about the nature if it's not the time to the end yet.

Plus, motorsport is not guilty for what happens to nature. I don't see race cars runing everyday in this planet. Duh...

Keep the green tech in streets, let the fun to the race tracks

  • @Willbrse :D Oh, boy. 1ª i'm a atheist so there's no salvation from skydaddy for me, and 2ª yes everything is going to end, our sun and the universe have a life span, but their death is still billions and trillions of years on the future, in the mean time is better we clean our ONLY home. Also if nature is doomed is only because of you and others like you that are blind by religion or money interests and can't see all the evil they are doing to them self's and the rest of life on Earth.

  • @Willbrse and if motorsport continues as it is it will kill earth, maybe if only motorsport continues to use gas, all all of us use electric cars we can sustain gas powered motorsports

  • @RicardoR5 I was talking about motorsport, not about street cars. I have no problem with green tech IF it stays on streets and AWAY of race tracks/cars.

People are puting all the hopes to save the Earth on electric cars, this is so wrong

We are talking about green tech for years and in 2010 was the year of carbon emission record

Amazon forest now, instead of help, it is puting more carbon in the air.

Cars won't save nature. If China, USA and Brazil stop poluting THEN maybe we'll see some change

  • @Willbrse industry does produce high polution, but the biggest problem still is combustion engined cars all over the world. we must tackle that problem, and then move on to the others.

  • @RicardoR5 ethanol from seaweed and small turbo engines would solve that quickly

  • @Willbrse Green tech will save our children health in the future, and i want my children and my grandsons to be healthy don't you? And by the way motorsport is all about the speed and who arrives first or makes the better times, i don't see that being over with electric cars do you?

  • @Argoon1981 not going to talk about it with someone that isn't a motorsport fan (ur comment showed this.). =)

  • can you imagine formula 1 with electric engines?? The cars passing by making no sound.

  • @guigow2004 They do make sound! Are you guys deaf? They do not make a loud ice motor sound like you petrol heads like but they do make sound.

  • Its weird to hear so much tyre torture.

  • i've spent 40 years working on cars. I would gladly trade any ICE powertrain available for this setup. Energy storage technology is only limited by who wins the fight- oil companies or relatively underfunded battery & capacitor manufacturers. Yeah, loud engines sound cool- but they've had their run. Why doesn't Toyota retrofit some small island nation with full blown EVs and charging stations as a test bed?

  • the nurburgring is never sunny. the nurburgring is too badass for sunshine.

  • Great video!

  • sounds like the car is hyper ventallating!!

  • It is sick that a Pagani Zonda R have done it 1 min faster, doesnt seem possible, like so people can see which car that have the overall record

  • very nice :) go green, go electric :)

  • that 260...imagine 320.....

  • I was waiting when batteries will run out

  • bet the drivers ears are still ringing! lol

  • Well suck me sideways!

  • Sounds like the Nagoya subway on fast forward ;-)

  • I think it's kinda hip! The sound makes me think of a life size slot car. Like the 1/24 scale light weight lexan bodied speed monsters we used to race with in the Ohio Challenge Cup series. The nose reminds me of an old MK8D! I like it!

  • Sounds like my folks when I havent taken out the rubbish...

  • If that is the future of Motor Racing I predict not that many spectators trackside. On TV this might actually work as you hear the (wind) speed quite well but Imagine sitting on a grandstand with the loudspeakers and your mates and so on. You won't hear a thing from the car

  • haha weirdest lap of the ring I've ever seen WIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ..but still very cool

  • chodzi jak maszynka do mielenia mięsa :D

  • Everything in the cockpit (screens, LEDs etc) was disabled to save power?

Anyway if this is the future of the motorcar, I'd rather stay a dinosaur :(

  • no gears... what's the point? my grandma could cruise around just like that while she drinks her tea and singing "Non, je ne regrette rien"
