  • @kiahrogers download an app for your android phone called sit up... it will slowly train you into doing any amount of sit ups you want to do at a time... i can do 80 at a time now

  • Very not impressed, if this is what Americas Army "proper" sit ups that's just sad. Everyone clearly knows hands crossed on your chest, using your arms to pull your neck up, is not only cheating but damaging your neck.

  • You really shouldn't put your entire hands behind your head, should cup your ears instead. Unless you are doing it lightly, actually holding your head up can cause neck injury.

  • Doing sit ups with your hands behind your head can hurt the high half of your spine, it's better to do it with your hand in an X on your chest as to not strain your neck.

  • @StreetTrooper ture if your doing them incorrectly. if you use your abdominal muscles to pull yourself up then you dont put that strain on your neck and upper back

  • @mtrenchandeminem you have muscle in your lower abs too. You just can't see them because chances are there is a layer of fat there. Fat tends to build at the lower abdominal area. Do some more cardio.

  • No putting hands behind your neck has only been proven to affect you if your cheating and using them! If you place your hands behind your head and don't use them it's perfectly fine. I usually do situps with my fingers behind my ears. Showing I'm not cheating. Not allowing me too. And puts more weight on your abs to pull up (your arms).
