Guys, don't hate on it. I am a very passionate PC user, builder and gamer, but even I cannot deny that the new MacBook Air represents exceptional quality at a reasonable price (the latter being rare for Apple). And guess what, I bought one, my first Mac. And I must say I'm loving it.
@PSPRYANPSP Reasonable price? They start at $1000 with a Core i5 at 1.6GHz. This also has integrated Intel graphics running an 11" screen. I can easily find 20 Windows laptops at a better price with those specifications.
The "ultrabooks" (which are simply MBA clones) coming out later this year from PC vendors are actually looking like they'll cost a bit more than an equally spec'd MBA.
I got a good deal from a local store, I wanted something thin and portable, and I wanted a cheap way to familiarise myself with OS X. This ticked all the boxes.

Indeed, AMD Hexs' are far more reasonable in their pricing. Hell, I personally run a 1100T in my AMD build. However, even a stock Intel 920 out performs a AMD hex in every single benchmark. Also, the latest non-extreme Intel hex price drop puts them more around the 500USD-600USD area.
Its all about the CPU's architecture, Intel has a much more advanced design than AMD chips do.
Who needs a hex-core that is out matched by a lower end, last gen stock quad?
@techboss202 13 inch Macbook Pro :) It's $100 cheaper than the based line Macbook Air.You get a cd/dvd drive, Facetime HD, same 2 USB ports, SD card slot. It's heavier to carry, but it's still portable to carry everywhere you go.

MAC FTW never had a problem with them install linux ubuntu or mint and windows 7 on my Mac pro has never broke down i got a new alienware Aurora 2 weeks ago back to vender for new mobo even my XPS 720h2c has lasted longer than that but Mac very reliable poeple how say apple are crap are those how dont now anything about PC or copying other people cause the dont have a mind of there own try apple PC before u try to slate them also great vid Tech of tomorrow

Apple IS NOT BETTER.
Toshiba, Dell XPS and Dell Alienware are all garbage companies.. built PCs only Asus and Laptops Asus is the leader in laptops (Asus is 1 of the 2 best motherboard manufacturers out there, the other one is EVGA), it does not matter what apple invented or started bottom line is they are WAY overpriced you pay for the name not the hardware
