I think this video is somewhat symbolic in itself, the song talks about getting something when it wasnt there at all and the treasure isnt there, its all metaphoric for love, etc... but you have to look more than skin deep to understand the symbolism

However, excepting the theme of finding something only to be disappointed (the only thing that really ties in with the song), I think this little movie would do much better with another song, or by itself with incidental music (of course the mouths moving etc. would have to be re-cued). I personally like music videos that show the band, make sense (if the song makes sense) and don't move faster than the pace of the song! This one is paced right but doesn't seem to fit; the other one is too fast.

All the "Directions" videos (aside from official band ones obviously) were a special project initiated by DCFC for fans in the community to create their own video for the song, certain artists were assigned songs and put on a very limited budget in production; thus why a lot of these videos seem unprofessional - because they are. They are still great though

Jeezus can't they make a decent video for this excellent song? I mean, as a video, by itself, without the music, this is a great video! I actually like it better (by itself) than the Ace Norton one; this one seems to have continuity, direction, and it's own sense of morality etc. kind of like a movie.

I haven't seen this video in forever! Last time I saw it was when it first came out, and I keep forgetting to buy Directions. This was one of my favorites from Directions, I totally followed the whole Directions thing, how a video would come out every other week or whatever that was. My school agenda from last year had "Directions - Song Name Here" whatever the song was written in the day it would come out.
