  • Attention everyone!

It seems that someone or a group of people have disliked this video on purpose too many times. This person or these people have also given a strangely large amount of thumbs up to comments which go against the video.

Please be aware that the likes/dislikes for this video are extremely likely to be the result of going against this video more than once. It is uncommon to find the kind of likes/dislikes and thumbs up on negative comments for such a video as this.

  • Although i am a deacon i found this very intersesting. Thank you

  • Well Done!

Arnold - LDS young men from England

  • Wow. You commenters can be horrible to our faith. Being mormon (LDS) is nothing bad at all. It's WONDERFUL. I am one and I love having the closeness with friends who love doing the same thing as me: HELPING OTHERS.

  • When I was a teen, in the 70s, we had a nice Mormon girl who till this day needs no intro: Marie Osmond.

  • as a mormon teenager, I must say not all mormon teens are this dull. Some of them can actually be fun to be around. However, there are a few Buzz-Killingtons that make mormons seem like a bunch of tight wads.

  • we are not sexist. mormons are all about loving people and respecting other religions. true, we r not perfect and we know that. but we are trying to love others and love god

  • I may not agree with what you believe in but good for you to believe in something.

  • it's a very nicely produced video i have to admit, but it seems the same as any normal life

  • I don't like the number of dislikes on this video. Mormon is the fastest growing religion in the world, and it makes me sad as a hardborn lds young women to see this. Respect guys, respect. We don't hate on your beliefs, don't touch ours.

  • I can't believe that people are saying rude things about this girl and her religion. I'd like to share a quote... "We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another." -Jonathon Swift

  • BYU's football team turned out to be not as good as expected, while their basketball team surprised many people. Just goes to show, you never know.

  • doesnt sound bad to me, and i am not big on the religion subject, but morality is not a religious choice

  • u go girl, its supposed to be a free world right.

  • I am not Mormon but i agree with everything this young woman says.

  • I used to be catholic and we had ccd every week much the same. And masses much the same. Its important to develop friendships and morals, the rest is unimportant. Religions are just used as labels, look past all that and just decide what kind of person you want to be.

  • OMG I FREAKING LOVE THIS!!!

  • I don't understand why comments need to be approved, surley if you're interested in spreading the message of your religion then you need to really communicate with those who feel differently than you do. Also, you're not going to get very far if you're not willing to really engage in a debate. I understand that you get some haters who are out of line, but there are atheists and others who are more than willing to a civilised conversation. Just ignore the idiots.

  • im a MORMON

  • I am not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I am an active Christian. One of my closest friends and most important people in my life is a member of the Church, and I have been blessed by her presence with the wonderful opportunity of being educated on the beliefs, lives, and principles of the Church and its members. I am now able to stand up and defend my friend and the people with whom she shares her beliefs, which I do so proudly. God Bless.

  • Devoted Mormon teens are SUCH a difference between other regular teens!!

I'm a teen myself, Mormon, and I grew up with two older brothers, so i'm much more mature than my friends/classmates.I started going to church recently

(as i wasn't going very often before) and the kids my age are just as mature as i am!We aren't nerds that wear glasses, don't know about hair and wear ugly clothes. We look just like any other teens, but dressed appropriately.

  • My girlfriend is a Mormon and she is 18, I'm a 19 year old atheist. So naturally, there's conflict involving beliefs, but we put that aside.

But here's my question to the video maker, why does this girl need the church to do all these things, could she not accomplish all these things without the help on any church? Why is there a different gospel for women? And last but not least, would it not be better to have her do all these things and believe in reason rather than faith? Please do answer.

  • All the good things mentioned in this video. Outside of the church stuff. I did. Did it all in a wholesome safe secular organizations. A lot, I did with my Family. Religion is not necessary to be a valuable and moral person to society. Myself and my family are great examples of that. No drugs. No Alcohol. Immune to indoctrination, and commercialization. All via education, Both scholastic and emotional/psychological.

  • In all honestly, I have meet a few young Mormons in high school and college and I even tell them this, they are some of the nicest people I have ever meet. Like, super weirdly nice and respectful and if they show me that kind of attitude, I have to do the same.

  • Hmmm.......she doesn't seem like a Satan-loving, polygamist, radical, gay-bashing bigot who hates Jews. She seems like the kind of kid I would want my son to date.

  • there are only 3 mormons in my 1500 school. i am mormon, people only judge me by myths, god bless you mormons101 :D

  • Good on you sweety ! You are going to make an excepeptional Wife & Mother one day. It takes a strong, faithful young lady to follow this path in a world like this.

I'm proud that there still such lovely young girls in this world.

  • @ButterflyMumma what if a girl doesn't want to be a wife or mother?

  • @ButterflyMumma ...Unless she decides not to be a housewife?

  • If being Mormon is good, then why don't they want anybody to come were they live, are talk to anybody, when they get there. Are at least they don't talk to people on t.v.They are alway telling people to leave. Why is that

  • @leroy33100 LOL I don't know any mormans that are like that, unless you try and walk into their house with a lit cigarette or something.

  • The words of President David O. McKay stung his mind: The coach had all the accolades you could want but felt he was a failure at home. It was an experience that drove the coach to change his game plan for life, and he would later coach only the UNC women.

  • Though im not a beliver in Mormonism I do have alot of respect by how the Mormon people present themselves. I see them as a people of unselfishness and very family oriented and I respect that.

  • @eddiebaba You don't need religion to be unselfish and family oriented....

  • In a chapter called "Mormon Envy," Dean further indicts Protestant churches by holding up Mormonism as an example of a religious group that is doing right by its teenagers.

  • She makes it clear that she has serious theological disagreements with Mormonism, but from a sociological perspective, Mormonism is succeeding in creating young adults who firmly understand what they believe and why their faith needs to have a claim on their behavior. She says that Mormonism is giving teens the four things they need in order to have a growing adult faith.

  • Speaking at the Young Women auxiliary training meeting in the Conference Center Little Theater April 1, Sister Dalton asked youth leaders to light up the life of a young woman. "You are the women they are going to look to, the virtuous women who will be their role models," she said. "We need to prepare ourselves spiritually. You are wonderful women. But we could be better."

  • huh....you mormons seem amazing! i've been looking for a religion and i think this is the right one for me...but idk. i mean, theres lots of rumors going around everywhere, especially here on youtube, about mormons. i don't know if they're true...

  • @eatpie9ify Don't believe most rumors you hear about the Morman church. Im a currently inactive member but I still support the LDS church. If you want to be a part of an organized religion, Mormanism is where its at, but don't look to other people to find that out. Go to one a few times, you'll see that all the nasty rumors you hear are absolutley false

  • @eatpie9ify Yes there are lots of rumors. if you really want to learn more about what Myself and millions of others believe and are like, you can visit mormon.org. Please do not believe things that others say, as they are just out to destroy what they do not, or cannot understand.

  • I am a LDS and i love being it and the values the young women have are so great for teen !!!

  • @shassa100 Atheist teens can have the same values that any follower of any religion has.

  • I'm Mormon!!!!!! I love being Mormon!!!! Wooooo

  • Mormon girls all seem really sweet

  • thank you so much for posting this video. it made me feel the spirit strongly. keep doing what you do!

  • Enjoy being in young womens, I am now in relief society

  • amen sister amen =D

  • i think this video is amazing! :)) as one mormon teen to another i bet you have a strong testimony and i enjoy being who i am. add me!

  • i <3 this!! from one mormon girl to the next!!

  • wow

  • woo!<3s i loved those pictures reminded me so much of my own young women (i'm a lurel)

  • Wow, this video is AMAZING :) I'm mormon too, im sixteen.

And i love the song it's so beautiful.

    Nice Job !

  • I have a lot of Mormon friends. They are super cool to hang out with, they aren't that different and they do pretty fun stuff at church.

  • This is a wonderful video. It helps girls like us really appreciate being a mormon teen

  • I love ebing mormon. I'm still a teenager, and in middle school i will admit I did somethings I shouldn't have after getting into the wrong group of people. When I entered high school, I started attending seminary, though I never stopped going to mutual. Now, I can see the difference in my life,a dn i am fully grateful for the role the church has played in my life.

  • How cute!! I was baptized at 20 and was never in Young Women, but was recently called as my Ward's Laurel Advisor. It is amazing to me, seeing such young girls speak and lead and teach - seeing their love for one another and the Church, and seeing their Testimony become stronger. I hope to help them through everything you talked about! ^^

  • I felt the spirit watching this video. I love Young Womens. I dont know what i would do without it.

  • I mean this in all seriousness, not as a slight against mormonism. Do you not allow minorities into your church? Or is Utah really that un-segregated?

  • Evans described Bailey as honorable, ethical and professional. In the early days, the departments of information and journalism overlapped. The late Fred Zwahlen and Bailey shared a commitment to journalistic principles.

He was very attentive to the ethics of journalism. These guys (Bailey and Zwahlen) are not going to shape the story to make the university look good.

  • I could imagine that Sam wrote that, Evans said. It had that level of detail.

Bailey came out of a top-notch ag journalism program at University of Wisconsin, said Evans, an OSU professor of communications.

Evans and Bailey were colleagues in the departments of journalism and information. We continued to work within 20 feet of each other for years.

  • I'm a Mormon girl too!!

I'm proud to be one and I support everyone from my religion as well as others!!!

  • from one Mormon to another your amazing and I can tell you have an extremely strong testimony of the church

  • "like cooking or sewing" hahaha i like it :)

  • wow thats really amazinq how you put that It made me feel as if i knew you. Im mormon as well and do the same thinqs as you. Younq Womens is truley aazinq and alot of fun :)

  • ikr! i think girls camp is the best part :))

  • how old do you have to be to become a Mormon?

  • @Aldersees75 Eight Years old. Any age can come to activities.

  • How old does one have to be to become a member of our church? When children reach the age of 8 they can be baptized but baptism is not a requirement to begin attending church.

  • So comments have to be approved now?

  • Yes. Considering this is a video made by a teenager I feel it's necessary to monitor comments to weed out the tactless ones. All my other videos are open comment.

  • @mormons101

Good for you for having the class to weed out the trolls. I wish more people would. There is no need to display the rantings of hateful people.

  • Within months, Zinas Mother died from the malaria epidemic which claimed the lives of many of the early Nauvoo settlers. About this same time, Zina met and was courted by Henry B. Jacobs, a handsome and talented musician. Sometime during Henrys courtship of Zina, Joseph Smith explained to Zina the principle of plural marriage and asked her to become one of his wives.

  • Thanks for posting this video. Keep the faith.

  • Heh, you go about with your good deeds. Just caught my mind that it sounds as if she's reading from a script prepared beforehand.. Yes.. we tell you what to say and what to believe.. ^^

  • She is, although she wrote the script herself.

  • @SlothZen give her a break, it's harder to do a voice over than you think. she's only a teenage girl.

  • He also said, "Now is the time to increase our focus on building stakes. A stake is the gathering place for the Saints of Zion, and Church leadership is focused upon the local members when a stake is created. In order for us to work toward having a temple in India one day, we must first have stakes."

  • Thou shall not commit adultery.

Ask a Mormon about that if they claim

    to follow Christ.

  • ???

  • I'm not trying to be disrespectful to your beliefs or nothing BUT it seems this religion is a bit sexist. Learning cooking and sewing? Preparing for families? Come on. Not every woman wants to be a housewife.

  • Either they learn it or they marry a husband who can afford a house keeper... either way, its a choice that one makes. None are forced to learn "Home Economics" in school and if a young woman has no intentions of learning those skills based on her goals in life, then it is up to her to prepare the means in which she doesn't have to do those things either professionally for herself or by finding the means to accomplish her goals.

Just like in school... learning these things is an elective.

  • @irishrocker

young men are taught to cook, sew, vacuum too. does that help?

  • @irishrocker True but women have a choice to be housewives or not, the LDS would prefer that the guy in the relationship be a MAN unlike now a days were it is seen less and less

  • This is a beautiful video:)

Thank you for posting this. The Young Women Program has changed my life alot :D

  • Galatians 1:8 talk about truth this is it!

  • Great Job! I really appreciate your explaination of our beliefs! Thank you from a convert!!!!

  • wow this is so cool ! i totally felt the spirit yur the best ! i love the slide show it really helped as well man your really strong in the gospel and im so proud of you!! :)

  • Loved the Video very well done. Thank you

  • I'm not Mormon, but I have tremendous respect for your faith. I've never met a Mormon who was rude or mean to me. May God bless your faith and bring you to His heavenly home

  • The third truth that Joseph Smith learned was that God still speaks to man today—that the heavens are not closed. One need but ask three questions, once proposed by President Hugh B. Brown, to arrive at that conclusion (see The Profile of a Prophet, Liahona, June 2006, 13; Ensign, June 2006, 37)

  • could you give me a scripture where the high priesthood was given to anyone besides Jesus in the NT?

  • But the scriptures tell us this was not possible. Paul taught, Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him (Romans 6:9). In other words, once Christ was resurrected, His body could never again be separated from His spirit; otherwise He would suffer death, the very consequence Paul said was no longer possible after His Resurrection.

  • That was very well done! I totally agree with you, I know I wouldn't be the same person I am today without the love and support of my YW leaders and the Young Women themselves. Yes, Mormons can join the Military, and there are quite a few members I know who are in the Navy and other Armed Forces.

  • another example of how religon is an activity and nothing else

  • do mormons serve in the military ?

  • yes...

  • yes, many have served on the joint chiefs of staff too!

  • let me guess the Bush administration?

  • Yes. We do. We support the military too.

  • Yes, but it's Jehovah's Witnesses that object to military service.

  • Yes, many serve in various positions all across the military - generals, soldiers, etc. In fact I was born in Germany while my father was serving in the military

  • yes we do

  • yes if they want to

  • This is beautiful! Thank you for being such a valiant soul in the testimony of Jesus. I'm sure Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are very pleased with your courage and determination to tell the world His truths.

  • wait.. isnt jesus christ the heavenly father ??sry im not religious at all i dont believe in any of that make believe man made stuff. But i always thought you called jesus christ heavenly father...... confusing

  • No, we call Jesus Christ who he said he was... the son of the living God and he pointed us towards the father in all of his doings. There is no confusion. We believe in God the Father and in his son, Jesus Christ and we teach what the Bible says about both of them.

  • Not that i'm saying anything againts that because it's true, but man, sometimes ya'll make it sound so cheesy and just not cool.

  • I wouldn't be the same without Young Women's. It's changed my life completely, and I'll never forget the friendships and attributes I've developed through it.

  • Nelson says she wasn't nervous about the dress, but the one-piece swimsuit was another matter. She was fully aware of the inherent disadvantage.

"A lot of people don't understand why we are modest," Nelson said. "It is not that we feel ashamed of our bodies. It's that we respect them and we acknowledge that they are a gift from our Heavenly Father."

  • When the actual competition began, pink was not required, but Nelson couldn't locate a dress that met her specifications. She drove all the way to Provo, Utah, to find one.

  • Good work. Nice video.

  • I am so glad you are sharing this video of some of your experiences in the church...as all I see is negativity...this is a breath of fresh air...thanks!

  • jesus isnt god. He'z God's son. Who came to earth to set example and yes, were christians. We believe in Christ dont we? thats Christianity. I love bein Mormon!

  • "Believing in Christ" isn't enough, there is more to it than that. Christians believe in the story of the Ressurection, but Mormons believe in a vastly different story. And if you do not believe that Jesus died, rose, and then went to Heaven are you a Christian? I mean Muslims and Jews "believe in Jesus", they just don't believe he was "The Messiah". Also, if you believe Smith is more important that Jesus, doesn't that make you a "Smithian" more than a "Christian"?

  • @OPE08

I don't know if you are still active on YT...

Mormons do believe in Resurrection (of Jesus). What you mean by "vastly different story". I don't know where did you get your info about J. Smith being more important than Jesus. We do believe that he did a lot for us, but only Jesus can Atone for our sins no1 else can do this (including J.Smith). Does this still makes us "Smithian" or "Christian"?

  • I'm not a Mormon but I think this video really does justice to your faith tradition. Good job putting it together!

  • good job sister! you do amazing at standing up for what you believe I am mormon too!!

  • I dont understand why mormons never mention Joseph Smith in anything that they do. Its as if the church fell from the sky and its history all lost. either that or they are too ashamed to accept joseph smith as a real prophet.

  • We mention Joseph Smith a lot, because our history is not lost to us. We actually take a lot of flack for metioning him to much. But when it comes down to it Joseph was important. But it's Jesus who is central to the Gospel. It is the Atonement of Christ that is the keystone of our existance. And it is God whom we worship and adore.

  • Even without much talk of the Church, visitors are touched by the spirit of Elijah — that of turning hearts of father and children to each other — as they learn about generations of family that came before them.

  • wow i like your video alot

i hope that you keep that way.

im the secretary of my ward and i am young too! at 22 years i understand the girls and i help them in everything they need, i think that's the advantage that i have to be young to help more. don't you think?

  • I really love the vid!! Thank you SO much for putting this up. A lot of people assume things about us, but you cleared up a lot of things. :) Thank you!! :D

  • I know the Church is true ^^ :)

  • I remember Participating in the Temple Celibration! It started practice, about a month before I turned 12, but they still let me go, and by the time we preformed it, I was 12. Being LDS rocks!

  • "It gave an added element of feeling that by just narrating you wouldn't get," said Canals, adding "my approach to the scriptures will never be the same — they came to life."

"Unificar y facilitar" — To unify and facilitate

  • what worship songs do mormons play in church? do teens sing hillsong united song?

  • Second, without Matthew's work, it would be hard to see how the JST could have been included in the LDS edition of the Bible. Third, Matthews' efforts played a role, along with the work of other scholars, in the warming of relations between the LDS Church and the RLDS Church.

  • Worldwide Activities Help Prepare Mormon Youth for Lifes Opportunities

  • Brown, whose parents own Nor Cal Color Supply on Eastside Road, was born in Woodland and moved here with his family about eight years ago.

During high school, Brown, who plays the trumpet and French horn, was a member of the Enterprise High School's jazz and chamber choirs, and remains undecided about what career to pursue, noting that he's torn between music, engineering and law.

  • Of course not!

Christ is the firstborn of God the Father, The Savior of all mankind and the only name under heaven whereby man can be saved.

He was the only perfect man who ever lived, He heads his church in these latter days.

He did not forget the ancient people who lived here on this side of the world, You can find this out by reading the Book of Mormon.

    Good Luck!

  • i loved this video.

  • is it true that Mormons dont believe That Jesus Christ is the messiah?

  • where did you hear that untruth?

  • from a mormon. I asked him what they believed in and he said that they dont believe that Jesus is God

  • that is false. of course we believe he's the messiah, its in our name, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"

  • OMGsh I love Girls Camp and Young Womens! It's so much fun and spiritual!

  • =]]]

  • me and my friends are mormon too. P.S. the young women's organization helps us too.

  • Matthew 24:24 ;)

  • Nope women arent seen as anything less in the church

in fact we are highly respected

  • They're preparing these girls to cook and sew? Does this mean Mormon women aspire to be housewives? I'm not trying to be condescending, I just know very little about the Mormon faith, aside from all the negative attention I hear.

  • at :50 you can see Brooke White at the left! How cool! haha

  • is it true that women are viewed as less than men in the mormon religion? someone please reply!

  • no they r veiwed equal

  • no, men are actually taught to "put women on a pedistol", we are VERY much respected

  • In the mormon religion we are all viewed as equals in a family as brothers and sisters as children of God with Jesus Christ as our elder brother being the only begotten of our heavenly father. Us young men are taught that women are Gods greatest creation and that they should be treated with the utmost respect. You don't have to be a part of our religion to be considered family. All of our brothers and sisters around the globe make up our family and we love every one of them. We are all equals.

  • Absolutley not true

  • LDS Rocks

  • Mormon youth are some of the strongest in the world. What other church has teens that are willing to leave at age 19 for TWO YEARS as missionaries?

  • the Korean Presbyterian church!

  • mormons are awsome. im mormon

  • "which is comparable to Catholic mass"

    Why would she say that?

  • Appears the intent of the video is to help teen girls who are unfamiliar with the LDS faith better understand what it is like to be a Mormon teen. Although there are differences between Catholic Mass and a LDS Sacrament meeting, there are many similarities - a Sermon is given, prayers offered, songs are sung, and most importantly, the Sacrament or Holy Communion is received. By relating to common actions, people of various Christian faiths better understand and appreciate one another better.

  • By saying that, she made it appear that she had to compare her service to a better-known Religion, as if she had to justify it.

"the Sacrament or Holy Communion is received."

It should be understood that the Eucharist is only valid if consecrated by a priest. The Mormon wafer is but a piece of bread. Trying to understand other Religions is okay, but never is it okay if it means trying to dumb down one to make it comparable. No offense.

  • You're reaching. I see no justification or reason to be offended. It helps those who have attended other services know what to expect. Even non-LDS have made such a comparison, not just online, but to me personally. The Sacrament given at an LDS Church service is blessed and sanctified by a Priest. As Paul recounted in Corinthians 11:23-26, Jesus broke bread with his Apostles in remembrance of him. What is more important? The amount of leaven or gluten in the bread or what the act represents?

  • THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME :O

  • Good One I liked the video to so on behalf of all the Mormon Teens here in Fiji well done. Stay strong and be Blessed.

    Moce Mada

  • Hey good job girlie! This is a great video i love it! Hmm im thinking this could be a good Personal Progress project dont you think?

  • That was well said.

  • I am not a Mormon & I do not practice any religion simply because I don't believe I should have to be in a man made doctrine to believe in God. Even so I commend the Mormon way of life. It is a caring, sharing & loving community of people who do not force themselves on others. I have worked with Mormons, shared meals in their home & not once have they pushed their religion onto me. The nurturing environment may not be my thing but for many it is & it does create many successful & loving people.

  • There sure are many different people in the world. About half of the Mormon people I've met have been quite pushy :-/

  • Mormons LOLOL

    Cute video, though.

  • My question to any Mormon, pertaining to this video, is this: Why do you need the Young Women Program to be a better person? Are you saying that you wouldn't be a good person by not attending, or that you could never be as good of a person? "Being a part of my Momon Young Women's Helps me through it all" (from the video); does this imply that Mormons depend on a simple program to be better people?

My real question: How dependent are Mormons on this program? Not an attack, just a simple question

  • I grew up Mormon and I would argue that it is definitely an integral part of their faith and religious practice but they do not view it as a necessity to be a good person or a good Mormon... It's just a part of their religious practice much like jewish, christian, and other religious youth groups. If you attended a meeting you would find that it is not much different than any other religion's youth activities just with a different belief system being reaffirmed.

  • Notice the phrase used - "helps me" which doesn't imply sole dependence, rather one more leg to keep up the stool if you will. From a teen perspective, there is a Seminary program for youth from 9-12th grade study Old & New Testament, Book of Mormon. Parents are even more important in providing direction and counsel (whether your of the Mormon faith or not). Going to Church on Sunday and studying the scriptures and gospel as well as in the home is very vital. Paul said it best in Philippians 4:7

  • Philippians 4:7 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

  • I'm mormon, and I attend this program every week.

It's not that we're necessarily depedant on the program, but it helps any young woman from the age 12-18 to relate to eachother. You get so close with eachother and some of very best friends are from the program too and share the same morals as me and that means a lot.

You learn so many things that otherwise, you may not learn in such an accepting environment. Everyone is supportive of eachother, and really, they're as close as girl can be.

  • that is right, whtlst I am part of the young mens program; it teaches a similar aspect and both programs teach the young peple on how to be loving, caring, friendly individuals and to one day become good parents.

  • Your video made me cry, its not a bad thing! I love your video! I am also thankful for the gospel in my life! I don't where I would be right now. May you be blessed

  • Your video made me cry! This is a wonderful video! I am also thankful for the gospel in my life! May you be blessed!

  • thank you for your beautiful testimony...you are an example to the rest of us. In luke 22:32 Christ says to Peter, "I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail thee not, and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." You have certainly strengthened us and we appreciate your efforts. 1 timothy 4:12 , " be thou an example of the believers" You certainly exemplify that fine scripture.

  • Miamaid pres! :DDD

  • GO US!

    YOUTH

  • Are you 16 yet lol?

  • this is awesome.!! im also mormon. in calgary and love that there is some truth about us girls!!
